To contrast, I hope Pete Souza posts some photos of how Obama met with the community and families after Sandy Hook. The difference will be stark.

For now, good on him. If in his next taxpayer funded rallies he continues a 'healer' role, I might start to believe him. But given 11,000 lies and counting... And given his need to keep his base loyal to him (not the nation)...
I also remember Bush 43 after 911 giving a 'healer' speech, and just as he was walking away from the podium hearing 'Onward Christian Soldiers' played. If you don't know the lyrics, Google/Yandex them.
PTownsend
If I understand you correctly, you're saying the sources you used aren't media'. Or are you using the alt right definition of 'the media' to mean those parts of the media reporting things different from the alt right perspective
bass4funk
But why would they try? Then that would mean objectivity on their part.
Exactly.
The big difference is compared to the alt left media, you get both sides of political aisle. If you think FNC is all left, sorry. FNC has more liberals on their panels than CNN and msnbc combined.
Strangerland
When will the Republicans deal with the rot in their party?
They talk about responsibility, then pretend they don't have any for creating an environment that breeds these multi-murders, and create an environment where these murderers can arm themselves to murder for their Republican ideals?
PTownsend
Who writes for Breitbart, Tucker Carlson, Rush Limbaugh, RT, infowars, etc. etc. etc. Could it be those spinning out the far right's agenda?
Curious those with alt right agendas have disdain for the free, for-profit press when their perspectives are not published. Is it capitalism they don't like? Or just freedom.
bass4funk
Fine, then also every time there is an attack on any conservative or a shooting like the one in Dayton Ohio, will say the same thing every liberal and every Democrat presidential candidate has a moral duty in obligation to take responsibility for the acts of these and artists and radical socialist trying to force and intimidate people by using physical and verbal violence.
NorwegianboyEE
Joe Biden’s speech was beautiful. Too bad most people of America will shut down their brains the moment their president tells them to not listen.
PTownsend
Hold on - just yesterday you were extolling the virtues of Trump's version of national socialism.
Strangerland
Republicans: Socialism is bad except when we like it!
Which is pretty much their position on everything.
Jimizo
Child.
Strangerland
Why would Liberals have responsibility for Republican murderers?
Jimizo
Red Donny is piling on the debt and the fiscal conservatives have lost their voices.
Sad.
bass4funk
Oh, I’m sorry, I wasn’t talking about “temporary” subsidies, let me clarify-the Democrats wanting to replace our capitalist system with a radical socialist system to shower “cradle to grave” entitlements which need to be funded through a massive tax hike to all Americans.
Strangerland
Sadly, I think that fiscal conservatives are a remnant of a day now gone, never to return. As they die off, new ones will not be around to replace them, and alas, fiscal conservatism will be confined to the history books.
Jimizo
I think it’s more like amnesia. A Democrat in the White House will see it all come flooding back.
Strangerland
Haha good point. But they won't actually be fiscally conservative, just hyper-partisans pretending they actually care about being fiscally conservative. The actual fiscal conservatives don't exist anymore.
Toasted Heretic
Trump and his worshippers don't care about the dead. They are guilty of indifference, intolerance and fanning the flames of hatred.
Just look at the thinly veiled bigotry and dog whistles they come out with each and every day.
nostromo
Trump is simply there to re-assure the gun lobby that nothing will change.....

Why would one white supremacist think it's OK to go to El Paso where another white supremacist just murdered people?

bass4funk
They do, that’s why they’re not trying to politicize this issue, but for some reason and we know why liberals are continuously politicizing this issue and focusing more on the president then the dead, you don’t have to believe me just turn on the TV or read the paper or go online, as a matter fact......
Well, just like in Dayton Ohio the Liberals are equally as culpable to what happened there, shame on them.
As liberals do as well.
bass4funk
Now flipmode that to 98% of the alt left media that carry the Democrats water.
No, just one-sided bias. So with owning 98% of the media liberals shouldn’t worry about 3 conservative opinion commentators. RT as to why liberals allowed that junk on American airways doesn’t make sense.
CrazyJoe
Whenever I read "Trump lashing out" in a news article , I know he's just trying to blame someone else for his own loathsomeness, lies, and corruption.

The people love President Trump.
The Democrats and their minions hate him!

Ban automatic weapons.
Ban them now.
Do Something!

The disgusting excuse for a human being that Putin help elect President is filled with nothing but hate - and that hate transfers to his supporters who then resort to violence.
**"Shoot them!" the supporter in the audience shouted. Some in the crowd clapped and cheered. Trump them joked "That's only in the Panhandle you can get away with this stuff,"
He can't even tone down his hate for one day - and Mr President, you're not Putin, XI, or the Mullahs yet - you can't tell someone to "Be Quiet" - we still have freedom of speech, even though you're trying to destroy that and the rest of our constitution...
Toasted Heretic
He gets things done, for sure. Divides a nation, encourages violence and bigotry and lots of golfing.
It's so entertaining when he uses violent rhetoric. What a winner.
Sadly, there will be no peace as long as bigotry and fascism continue to destroy lives.
theFu
Automatic weapons have not been easily available since 1986. The Federal Firearm Owners Protection Act did that.
Critically, legal machine guns must be manufactured before May 19, 1986 -- the cutoff date imposed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, & Explosives (ATF).
Actually, I'm much less worried about people licensed to have machine guns than I am Joe 2 miles away with his 9mm for home protection that he bought, but never had training or practiced shooting at a range with a safety instructor. Anyone with a machine gun is more than a casual fire arm owner and has gone through a thorough background check and possibly had their home and gun safe inspected by local law enforcement.
Both the military and police register their machine guns too, BTW.
TheLongTermer
Interesting how these liberal types work themselves into a frenzy, but you never see then in Chicago, standing on the side of the road, going bizerk over the daily murders. Guess those people dont matter. We all appreciate Obamas speech but where is the work in Chicago? Detroit?
You know you can blame the collapse of Detroit on white flight but the Feds gave the city school district close to 1 billion dollars. I mean thats more than the GDP of some countries.
They had to bring the Feds back to do an audit where all the money went. Still has one the poorest literacy and drop out rates in the country.
Lets correct these problems also. Yes, lone wolf actors are a huge issue now. Access to guns but theres allot of buffoonery on the left as well
Toasted Heretic
True. They are the real victims here. Who cares if people are murdered in cold blood?
Consumed by their own hatreds, they will continue to be victims.
Toasted Heretic
People have been calling for gun controls for decades. They are only more visible when mass murders like these take place.
Why aren't there regular mandatory checks for every gun owner and would be gun owner?
Why can't heavy weaponry be banned?
If this was a type of aircraft or car crashing, it would be recalled or grounded?
Why can't the same be done for guns?
u_s__reamer
If Trump had read the "Good Book", he would know that "They that sow the wind, shall reap the whirlwind".
Now it's too late and Trump stands condemned by his own blustering but insidious rhetoric which with his every public appearance is becoming transparently threadbare. "Anti-fa", Trump's new scapegoat "group of hate" (more mangled English here for the lexicon of Trumpisms) is not a monolithic "Left" organization, but people from all walks of life who have read their history books and are thus determined to oppose the "alt right" (a euphemism for assorted fascists and right-wing thugs) and stop the rise of a Trumpellini. Anti-fa folks, more than the "average American", know that IT CAN HAPPEN HERE!
CrazyJoe
The bottom line.. Sandy Hook was the end of all or any gun debate . When we as American citizens decided that the killing of children was bearable, it was over .. it will never change.
PTownsend
Dog whistling - again.
Lone wolf - code for whom? Still can't criticize the far right and white nationalism.
It's the assorted X's own term, too.
Toasted Heretic
Thank you. It's difficult to explain, sometimes, to people who revel in their own ignorance. Another symptom of the Trump era.
Antifa are simply people who oppose fascism, bigotry, racism and intolerance. Some of us march/protest/demonstrate, some of us are politicians, doctors, nurses, lawyers, firemen, refuse collectors, brickies, business people etc. Some of us are more militant than others. Some are liberal, some engage in direct action.
Some of us have been making a stand all our lives. Others have come late to the debate.
There is no one single entity called antifa. It is a broad range of people all over the world and it is a point of pride to be combating bigotry, by pen, by protest or by pro-active measures.
TheLongTermer
its not dog whistling dude..its facts. Its why nothing gets done. If the left is so bent on gun control, why cant we see results in Chicago? Detroit? Cleveland? Baltimore?
Strangerland
Um, because there are not patrolled borders between states.
The overwhelming number of guns in these cities are purchased in neighboring states with lax gun laws.
States with tight gun laws are seeing mass shootings decline. Those with loose gun control are seeing them increase.
I wonder why...
Belrick
Just as soon as you democrats acknowledge there's an infestation of mold, rats and liars in your own party, far far greater than anywhere else!
plasticmonkey
False. Except in your own silly narrative.
Some of us are concerned with preventing this from happening by 1) replacing the current president with someone who doesn't poison the national discourse, and 2) by enacting sensible gun control laws.
The only thing you seem concerned about is protecting Trump because he embodies your obsessive hatred of the liberal bogeyman. You simply cannot post anything without mentioning "liberals". Disliking Trump's vitriolic rhetoric has nothing to do with being liberal. Neither does wanting to prevent mass shootings. Neither does wanting people to have affordable access to health care and education. Neither does opposing the separation of children from their parents.
TheLongTermer
and the abandoned buildings, deterioration, thats other states fault? other peoples fault? Like that blame shifting.
Sneezy
The right: Regular mass murder and the consistently greatest terrorist threat in the US.
The left: "buffoonery".
TheLongTermer: These are the same.
Kaerimashita
But outside Miami Valley Hospital, at least 200 protesters gathered, blaming Trump's incendiary rhetoric for inflaming political and racial tensions in the country and demanding action on gun control. Some said Trump was not welcome in their city. There were Trump supporters, as well.
Very balanced reporting. I can't see how DT can be blamed for these incidents. They have been going on for long before he even tried to be POTUS. It seem far fetched to me to imagine that DT says something and it suddenly turns a normal young person into a killer.
Some of the silliness I saw on TV about "coded messages" and "DT inciting genocide" was just ridiculous.
Blacklabel
The guns don’t come from Chicago they supposedly come from somewhere else with lax gun control laws.
But then Chicagoans use these guns To kill each other. But liberals can’t hold the people responsible because those people are part of a “protected group”
so blame the gun instead.
this just shows gun laws don’t work. Criminals don’t really seem to care about laws.
cleo
Again we have Americans telling us how awful America is.
Who needs enemies when your own are stabbing you in the back?
lincolnman
I see, it's not the "gun's" fault....even though it's a military assault weapon...
Then you're OK with fully automatic weapons being legal? Why just one bullet when 5 or 6 will do...
You're OK with flame throwers being legal? Can burn up a couple of bad guys with one trigger squeeze...
You're OK with Claymores being legal? No better deterrent for keeping intruders off your property...
Since its not the gun's fault, these should all be legal, right?
Texas A&M Aggie
The democrat socialists are attempting to turn these two shootings into political cash cows. POTUS candidates shamelessly using these tragic events as fundraising ploys even before those who have died have been buried. What we are witnessing is Wellstone 2.0. And everyone knows how that turned out for them. Liberals are so predictable.
Strangerland
And what are the Republican socialists doing? Planting false flags, to make it look as if every single shooter since 2016 wasn't a registered Republican.
Joe Blow
The Dayton shooter was an Antifa-supporting Democrat who liked Bernie and Warren.
You are fake news.
Blacklabel
Correct, none of these items have the capacity to hurt anyone, absent a human operator.
Strangerland
They are widely reporting it as a false flag now. Turns out he was a registered republican, but they destroyed his registration to cover it up.
lincolnman
Well, thanks for admitting it - ladies and gentlemen, the Trumpers here want everything I carried in my 27 year military career legal for you to buy - M60/248/249 machine guns, Mark 19 Grenade Launchers, M2 50 cal Machine guns, and Claymore mines. But why stop there, if these should be legal, why not 81 mm mortars?
This is the absurdity of the Trump/Repub gun culture...and the type of America they want to live in.
Vote every one of them from the town dog catcher up to the White House out....
SuperLib
Why don't we just do what other countries do since they only have a fraction of the gun deaths?
rlperez@hotmail.com.au
Trump, the mass shootings are a reflection of the bulk of American society. Until these people re-evaluate themselves, rid themselves of idolising weapons, guns, violence and wars, nothing will change. It is the US society that must change.
starpunk
I remember, and it's sickening. If I were at El Paso or Gilroy or Dayton I would give the rumps a 'welcoming party' they'd never forget! Tears are not enough.
smithinjapan
Trump is a white supremacist that supports white supremacy and their terrorist acts, plain and simple, and those who support him do the same. If not, why is it a few radical Muslims commit acts of terror (far less than white extremists do), and ALL Muslims are potential terrorists who should be banned from entering the country, but local whites commit FAR more acts of terror and it's "not a problem. Just a crazy person."
One of Trump's biggest tells when he lies is the "We're going to do Something!" And then in the same day he pulls a "both sides" argument and blames Anti-fa and the media, neither of whom have killed a single person.
TheLongTermer
the caliber that these semi auto assualt weapons use are small, but still deadly. a .60 or .50 round is on a whole new level. I seen what a .60 could do during a mishap.
I dont agree with anybody in either party, Im for abolishing the 2nd amendment. There is no need for it anymore. But until that day, I need to defend myself.
Strangerland
I think you and I are on the same page then. I am anti-second amendment, and anti-gun. But if I lived in the US, I would strongly consider buying a gun, and I most definitely don't rule out that I'd buy one.
To be honest, it's actually been on my mind a lot. A move to the US for a few years is starting to look very strongly on my horizon right now.
TheLongTermer
100% dude. got to defend yourself and yours
TheLongTermer
You cant just keep blaming everything on white supremacy. Reagan said racist things about Africans, Truman hated Asians, Westmoreland, racist, Douglas McArthur, racist. Every country has these leaders. Singaporeans look down on Malaysians, Japanese look down on Chinese. in Africa, there are many tribes in Nigeria for ex. that hate each other. You have to work with what you got. The US was founded by whites, who were most likely racist by todays standards. So lets just rip it all up and replace it with something made in China or something. I mean, what do you want to do?
Strangerland
It's ideal vs. reality. The ideal is a shift to no guns, because the idea of allowing the populace to carry them has clearly been proven a failure, in just this one weekend alone. The reality is that if everyone around me is armed, I want to be to. While still arguing that the second amendment should be abolished - so I don't feel the need to carry a gun.
TheLongTermer
the problem with allot of people today is, they get a handgun, keep it around, because it gives them that "peace of mind" but they dont know how to use it when the shock and terror of a situation occurs. thats where people need training.
when people used to do these crazy things, the whole community would converge, go down there, and they wanted some accountability. Nobody does that anymore. Its everybody for himself. This is why the 2nd wont work. The community and accountability is all gone.
TheLongTermer
I dont want to be in a situation where Im in a restaurant for ex. and there is pop pop, I go under a table, because egress is out of the question, then I hear more pop pop, and shaking in fear, because Im helpless, waiting on my turn to go. I want something to neutralize that threat. Thats just me.
Blacklabel
wherever the laws passed by Congress and signed by the President draw the line. I would assume that personal ownership of a rocket launcher, tank or nuclear weapons must be against some law somewhere.
If its not, I am free to purchase and own one.
To ban ALL guns, needs a Constitutional Amendment.
Strangerland
wherever the laws passed by Congress and signed by the President draw the line.
So you're ok with a full ban on all guns if Congress signs it and the president passes it? And I'm not asking whether you think that's likely or not, I'm asking if that would be acceptable to you if it were to happen, even as unrealistic as that may be. Because it would appear that you are saying your moral line is the legal line, and if the legal line changes, so will your moral line. Is that correct?
But why? If the logic used by the gun nuts is correct, then there is no logical reason these weapons should be prohibited.
Blacklabel
the law and the constitution. The Constitution gives me the right to "keep and bear arms". That has been identified to refer to what we call "guns".
The law determines which guns I can and cant have. Again, I assume the law already excluded rocket launchers and tanks as I dont see any private citizens with those. The law DOES allow assault weapons.
So I can have one, until the law changes. Once Congress passes a law otherwise, that might change.
WilliB
Another smear pieace by the propaganda media. Orange man bad, no matter what.

strangerland:
I thought both of these recent shootings (as almost all of the others, I believe) occurred in "gun free zones", so the "populace" was clearly NOT allowed to "carry them" in these cases.

Wow, we need to stop the presses. The Republicans are getting angry about Trump being treated like they treated Obama. We can't have this, doesn't everyone realize it's only ok when THEY do it? Jesus people, get with the program, and stop doing what they do, and do what they say.

It's amazing how Trump is able to spin a tragedy and center it all on him. He always wants the spotlight on him and will do anything and at anytime to praise his accomplishments while downplaying the real victims of this massacre.
