Dango bong
the only reason the govt needs to mandate lockdowns is because people are too stupid to use common sense
Monty
@Dango Bong
I agree!
yoshisan88
Well since you are an Aussie, please enlighten me say if you were D Andrews, what would you do to the outbreak? Let the virus runs its cause?
Jairam Amrith
@Sven, my apologies for misreading your post. I agree 100% with you.

Listen to rightwing nuts about COVID policy and you get 150k infections a day like in the USA now. NZ beat the virus, the USA and other rightwing countries are now humanitarian disaster zones. North Dakota, right wing governor, has the highest COVID death rate in the world. That is what rightwing leadership delivers to its people.

@Jairam That must be a big misunderstanding. Re-read this and other of my comments. I am for very hard lockdowns and disagree with all those stupid and misleading attempts to fight that virus up to now, of course also and especially Trump’s.

No mention of punishing the jerk. Pity.

All this started and ended so quickly here......
Lots of panic buying again....why the heck toilet paper is the number #1 go to thing baffles me.
A fair bit of anxiety as was still at work (thankfull to have it) while all this was going down.......trying to work things out knowing it would be chaotic when I finished.
Having family in Victoria and very very close friends in Japan that've gone through such hard times and restrictions......stress levels were pretty high.
I can't wait till I can give the missus a hug and see my family....

Never underestimate the power of stupid people, particularly in large groups.

@Sven Asai, look what happened in Sweden, pal. How do you know the virus can be easily controlled, sounds like what the inglorious Donald T was saying back in March?April.
Sven Asai
@Jairam Never mind, thank you. By the way, they also played it down in Denmark, by fast and almost silently killing of millions of minks, soon after declaring ‘victory’ and that the dangerous virus strain there is completely distinguished, although still infected people are running around there in Jutland region and even some in other countries and can therefore spread it for another 61 to 70 days. Unbelievable, right?

"Well there you go. The South Australian government not keen to establish a dictatorship after all.
Can we have some acknowledgement of that from the anti-lockdowners who were claiming that they were?
No? Thought not."
No, not there you go.
Sure it was very fair to "assume" here we go...from 1 week to how many months?! that would be a fair assumption since this kind of sadistic globalist communist behavior is happening all over the West with the lockdowns.
The very fact they went and locked everything down for something that you have 99.97% survival rate, no different than the regular flu, then the "cases...oh those cases!" which is also a scam if you do some research the PCR tests are a complete joke, even the creator said so Kerry Mullins....its a joke.
Also, there are many strategies into tricking and influencing the public. There are many reasons as to "why" they do things, just you do not know such as locking down the state promising a week then opening up earlier because of a "blunder"....perhaps this is to create false assurances regarding the credibility of the Government so people like you will think "oh see, they didnt really want to shut the place down, just a conspiracy theory here move on..."
For anyone to believe in this plandemic you would have to seriously have rocks in your head, and any that support it, like the media and this very media which I am sure will delete this, REMEMBER you are screwing your own future and the future of your own family and friends for what....some $¥?
The Global Reset as presented by The World Economic Forum is frightening and for those that done believe in it, I urge you to research. Dont come crying when you lose all your belongings by 2030.

Since the area has gone into an unnecessary lockdown, as we've found out it was not necessary, we he be held responsible for financial losses they have incurred?

Protect the vulnerable by setting up a system where nursing homes are isolated for 2-3 weeks, with staff staying at motels/hotels while they were off duty, and arranging care/support for the staffs' children as necessary. The nursing home issue was where Sweden got almost all their deaths from, but the rest of the population was almost unaffected.
Recommend people to wear masks, keep their distance and wash their hands, but not fine people for not doing so, and not put the ridiculous 5-km limits in place. And keep businesses and schools open.
Sven Asai
And I see clearly the contrary, that it was indeed a severe virus strain, but it could be caught and eliminated quickly, because there are not living so many people and the infection chains can easily be followed, so that now afterwards everything can be played down and denied. That’s my thesis versus your’s. I know what’s going on, don’t always try to trick me, that’s getting boring.

Europe must be full of right wing nuts. India, Brazil, etc

As opposed to locking down a while city and heavily restricting a whole state? No option is pleasant, but Andrews’ was worse and he lied through his teeth about it, throwing others under the proverbial bus to save his own skin. The collateral damage has been horrific.
kyronstavic
The kind who voted in Daniel Andrews.
kyronstavic
Well, i wouldn't like to be the pizza guy right now.
And the government as usual will get off scot-free. Must be good to be unaccountable.

In Victoria it was the stupidity and arrogance of the Andrews government and public service acting under its direction that was the main cause of the problem. Mandating lockdowns is a dangerous step and unwarranted. At least the SA government has cancelled the lockdown, though the trigger finger was pretty itchy.
