You can't outwit science.

The only thing that works is self-isolation, lockdown, and quarantine.

Explain please ?

The only thing that works is self-isolation, lockdown, and quarantine.

But was it not S.Korea that were telling the world his to do stuff?

It really doesn't make sense !? What happened to trace test quarantine until 2022 approach ?

21,344 tests doesn't seem much, I thought Korea was testing a lot. What happened?

 What happened?

Yesterday was Saturday. Usually, the number is about 30,000. S. Korea did not need massive tests, but it may be changed soon.

Any reliable information on the source of this new wave of infections?

The SK testing program is state of the art.

As this is a biohazardious war with spreading viruses , you have to treat it exactly as such. There isn’t such a thing like an easy way with civilian and insufficient measures or some still unknown vaccines and their inconsequential distribution etc. This has to be handled the hard way, with outwiping lockdowns, under supervision of anti-biological warfare schooled military. Complete and without mercy, until the virus is gone or at minimum a full reset of the numbers has been reached as low as they were at the time of the first outbreaks.

Even 30k is low SJ...guess Korea fell in the same way Japan did by low tests.

Denmark has conducted 8,483,883 tests for the entire population of 5,801,394, which means testing twice for each citizen. Still, the number of deaths is 935 with 107,116 cases, and the death rate per 1M population is higher than S. Korea by a factor of 15.

Massive tests alone can not achieve so much.

Actually higher than what they were testing at first, no? Testing every person is a waste of resources.

It would be interesting to see whether the China/South Korea business travel concession will be closed by China.

It will be even more interesting for contact tracers in SK to clarify the percentage between locally transmitted infections and imports. They recently upset NK by implying NK cases are filtering into SK.

In any case, the reality in SK is probably a lot better than the reality in Japan or China.
