So what about all those masks and social distancing? Not as effective as claimed?

South Korea: 583 cases. Population approx 52 million in a high density situation where social distancing can be difficult.

North & South Dakota: 2063 cases. Population approx 1.6 million in two of the least densely populated states in the United States (naturally socially distant).

What's the reason for this, hmm? I don't think it's kimchi and watered down beer.

Australia has one of the highest domestic violence, family rape, suicide and depression, economic ruin rates in the world for lockdown bar South Africa.

Care to cite any real sources for this, lest we think you have simply invented the claims to suit your narrative?

once again demonstrates that anyone who thinks lockdowns or other draconian measures can eliminate or even contain this virus are just dreaming.

Why are you gloating? You're not even informed.

The fact is, you don't know what you're talking about. South Korea did not even have a lockdown.

Officials announced 583 new cases after several weeks of fresh infections ranging between around 100 and 300.

It just goes to show that this virus spreads like wild fire and like any wild fire it cannot be brought under control with half hearted measures.

SK wear mask just like Japanese and this negates the argument that wearing of mask here is the sole cause of the low numbers here. The low numbers are the result of the super low number of tests.

Except those of us who live in virus-free Australia, of course. Lockdowns do work!

Wakarimasen - Still small numbers but once again demonstrates that anyone who thinks lockdowns or other draconian measures can eliminate or even contain this virus are just dreaming

SK Government must be in a state of despair and frustration, this horror pandemic, virus is playing a game of hide and seek.

Interesting. Both Germany and now South Korea are seeing a surge in cases. Both countries were laud by the press. Now look at them. So much for the Testing Testing Testing as the holy grail.

According to Nihonview :

SK 583 cases/day = "Surge!"

Japan - 2000+ cases/day (7 day avg., with very low testing) = "low numbers!".

Time to drop the nationalism, its tiresome and you're destroying your own argument.

That virus doesn’t care if countries are lauded by press and it surely doesn’t generously give any break if there are luckily temporary lower numbers.

@wakarimasen

I 100% agree!

The behaviour of each single person, according personal prevention, is the Keypoint!

restricting the number of visitors at weddings and funerals to 100.

Wow! That is a lot!

I dont know how many people usually visit a funeral in South Korea...

all restaurants must close by 9 p.m

Sounds similar to Japan, just 1 hour difference.
