Why don’t people protest against this? Controlled media?

Rodney - You don't seem to be against Russia spending money on their military. Why would you be against Spain doing the same thing? Hmmmm.

Russia doesn’t need to spend money, it has so many weapons that they probably lose count of some. Spain has a failing economy and doesn’t have a load of countries threatening it. Spain should concentrate on energy security, unemployment, drug addiction, illegal immigrants and returning tourism. Not buying US weapons.

I think Spain has other matters to attend to.

It would seem that Spain thinks otherwise. It will raise defense spending to the normal 2% of GDP as Japan plans to do. The ONLY reason this is happening is Russia's invasion of a peaceful nation for territorial expansion. China too has ambitions of territorial expansion making nations realize they have been under funding their defense and would not be able to stand against such aggressors, who could turn on them at any time of their choosing.

An ability to resist is much desired because freedom and self determination has no rival for intelligent people.

Oh yeah, sure.

If you say so, boss.

Eight nations in Europe have significantly increased or flagged increases in defense spending since Russia's invasion. Two nations have applied for, and been approved for NATO membership since Russia's invasion. These are facts "boss". Without Russia's invasion those things would not have happened! Indisputable facts sometimes are unpleasant to some, but they remain facts non the less.
