This can’t be true. Something must be getting over exaggerated. Nobody would do such a thing in Australia. It maybe some unintentional information sharing as a mistake rather than selling out the country’s confidential information.

He /she is still pulling a full politician's pension.

That's what I can't take!!!!!

Name them, try them, lock them up for treason, and strip them of all superannuation (retirement) payments they would otherwise be entitled to.

Make an harsh example of him to deter any other potential traitors.

@Peter14 Nice rush to judgement. Spooks find puppetry so easy these days.

There must be some sweaty palms in Canberra today. Plenty of people sitting in parliament have sold out the country to foreign interests of various kinds.

Get it all out in the open. Australia for transparency. The polar opposite of our murky opportunistic foes.

Agreed. Get it out into the open. Maybe he's being shy about naming names because it would be hard to prove guilt in a court of law?? I don't know. Seems like there must be no documents to share, otherwise he could have passed them on like Snowden did. I can't quite get my head around this. More news to follow, hopefully.

Who thinks it’s Morrison? Or Barnaby Joyce?

I struggle to imagine who it might be.

@Politik Kills

Who thinks it’s Morrison? Or Barnaby Joyce?

"The former politician did, however, organize an overseas conference..."

Given that the above two couldn't organize a piss-up in a brewery, I think they're in the clear. (I take that back. Piss-ups are probably the one thing Barnaby could organize.)

The Australians have been aware of Chinese efforts to influence Australian poliiticians of various levels for quite a few years now. Name the politician and name the "foreign country". Throw diplomacy out the window.. This is an attack on Australia, not a shooting war, but an attack nevertheless.

My guest is John "Mario" Barilaro, ex NSW Deputy Premier.

Yeah, almost certainly China.

I'm not trying to stir up racial tensions (honestly), but who would want to work for China? Someone Chinese? Sounds reasonable. How about Mr. Dio Wang, briefly a federal politician for the Palmer Nutjob Party around 15 years ago.

According to Wikipedia, "Wang migrated to Australia in 2003, and has been an Australian citizen since 2009...

Wang courted controversy in 2015 when, shortly after the 26th anniversary of 1989 Tiananmen Square protests, he defended the protest's violent suppression by the government of the People's Republic of China. A few days later Wang spoke again to defend China over territorial claims in the South China Sea."

Hmm. If I was an investigative journalist, I'd trying digging there.
