I could just minus you but this ... deserves a rebuke. Sri Lanka isn’t a free country and doesn’t respect human rights?

.
So by that standard other faiths -such as Hindu who comprise 12 %, and Muslim who comprise 9 %, along with Christians who comprise 7 % - should be prohibited from practising their faiths ?

Sri lanka is a democracy, and gained its independence in 1948.
It is a Republic, with a multi-party system, with elections every 5 years; the president elected by the people through an electoral systems reflecting representation of the people.

Not really.
Falun Gong and tibetan monks can attest that atheism as a political system is not a panacea for religious freedom.
Moreover, atheists are individuals, who still hold diverse, contentious political views - ergo violence and assassinations occurs in spite of the absence of a faith system that dismisses the supernatural.

The Catholic Church has embodied the Christian faith for centuries, dating back to its inception around 300 AD.
It has come through many adversities,
It will prevail.
