Good.
All the states with abortion related trigger laws passed more than 2 yrs ago need to be taken to court for those laws not reflecting the current state citizens or their elected representatives.

The far-right: What’s the problem? If you want an abortion, just go to a state where it’s legal.
GOP States: If you leave the state to get an abortion where it is legal, you will be tried for murder when you return here.
The far-right: Ah. Well, nevertheless,
Blacklabel
except that none of this has happened, or will happen.
Thats the story when the law is made about election fraud anyway. Liberals are all like "why do we need a law for something that (supposedly) hasnt happened before"?
Now blue states are making preemptive laws for something that hasnt happened and wont. then using it to attack red states who have no plan to do this.
Even if they did, just move to a blue state if this is your top quality of life issue to be able to have on demand abortions at such a rate that its a normal occurrence.

According to Justice Kavanaugh this is not something that will happen. The Court will overturn it should any case come. All these states will be having elections in the fall, so the issue will go before the people and they can choose what is best for their respective states. This sounds like a lot of paranoia over nothing.
Express Sister; what states have laws that charge a woman with murder if she leaves the state for an abortion? Or are you just...speculating, projecting, whatever.
Blacklabel
It’s kinda like right after this there was a supposed 10 year old who just happened to already be 6 weeks pregnant in a red state.

Brett Kavanaugh also claimed Roe v. Wade was "settled precedent." Clearly there is no reason to believe a thing beer man says.
Right, except conservatives were lying about that too, and are now pushing to ban abortion nationally if they take control of the house.
Kind of like how several dozen states had trigger laws banning abortion in the event that Roe v. Wade was overturned. Criticizing states for preemptively putting safeguards in place for abortion seekers is silly.
takeda.shingen.1991@gmail.com
Nothing supposed about it. A conservative judge refused to allow a 10 year old rape victim to get an abortion.
I'm just that 10 year old will make a great mother, won't she? Conservatives should be so proud.

Democratic governors in states where abortion will remain legal are looking for ways to protect any patients who travel there for the procedure — along with the providers who help them — from being prosecuted by their home states.
Sounds fine to me.
Laws made by a particular state need to be followed, right?
Attilathehungry
Takeda, the question was "what states have laws that charge a woman with murder if she leaves the state for an abortion?"
I can't think of any, can you?
And "several dozen states" do NOT have so-called "trigger laws". The real number is 13.
Express sister
This did happen.

Should Japanese citizens be forced to follow US laws in Japan?
Express sister
Republicans: Children are not mature enough to learn that gay people exist.
Also Republicans: Children pregnant through rape are mature enough to be forced to be mothers.

That doesn't change the fact that rightists, like Kavanaugh, are liars, and if given a chance they absolutely will try and ban abortion nationally. Who cares if a law hasn't been enacted yet? What difference does it make? Unless of course you're upset about these laws preempting future rightist plans to ban abortion nationally.
lol The number doesn't matter. The point is that states preemptively made trigger laws, despite the fact the abortion was a right in all parts of the US. And none of the rightists here are whining about that fact.
Blacklabel
Suuuuure it did. The perfect victim for the narrative just happened to be treated by a well known abortion activist who is constantly in the left wing media.
who didn’t call the police, but went to the media instead. No police investigation, no suspect.
made up story. Just drive to the next state over.
takeda.shingen.1991@gmail.com
Any proof it didn't happen, or are we back to the old anything problematic to my position is now "fake?"
Lot's of rape victims don't call the police.
The doctor, not the girl, went to the media.
Lastly, let's not pretend as if banning abortion won't result in a lot of teen pregnancies, some of which will undoubtedly be the result of rape.
Blacklabel
Doctors do. By law.
she contacted the media instead.

Canada was announced yesterday as the number one country in the world people want to move to.
I'm guessing that it will go up even higher now that women realize they are second rate citizens that don't have a choice over their own body in the US. Canada just looks that much more appealing.

or a journalist investigated this and found several holes in the story and overall rates the claim as highly dubious. (which is what actually happened).
Lets see if we ever hear about this again.
If we dont, it was fake.
