His accuser has no credibility left,

Man, if you could just figure out what that means.

It does not mean she lied about the rape. It does not mean the police think she lied about the rape (not all of them anyway). It does not mean the prosecutors think she lied about the rape (not all of them anyway).

What it means is that everybody thinks she has no chance in court, so nobody will touch her case with a ten foot pole. No lawyer wants to stake his cred on hers.

The link I provided was just to chill our ardent femenist marie out,

The denial and excuse making are not necessary. Nobody is attacking you like you attack them. Please mellow out and think this through. Its okay to be wrong now and again. Its okay.

"The figure is simply meant to show her that this is serious. Falsely accusing people of rape simply to rip them off is not something she should get away with."

Well Willi, satan must have headed out to work on the snow plough this morning. Well said.

" You seem to be in the habit of stuffing words in people's mouths."

Really? I made a statement, you really shouldn't take yourself so seriously.

"By your own link it was one claim, not claims. And that claim was verbal and not officialized in any capacity."

She admitted it, and as far as I'm concerned the DSK accusations are also false, therefore claims. But don't take my word for it, the NYPD and the NY prosecutors dropped the case faster than a hot plate as the investigation unfolded.

"They considered her untrustworthy and decided her case was hopeless because of her character, NOT because they decided she was lying about the rape."

If they decided she was not trustworthy then why would they believe the rape charges? The police certainly believed her strongly initially in light of the initial police statements, which further denotes the acts of a willingly deceitful person in my opinion as she originally had them convinced.

"Your link also points out that they found no evidence of violence and that she changed her story. But what always sticks in my craw is that Strauss-Kahn has NO STORY for us to examine. Only Diallo has been on trial so far. I sincerely hope Strauss-Kahn gets nothing until he also explains himself. Its going to be a hoot if he ever does!"

The link I provided was just to chill our ardent femenist marie out, who on past encounters on this topic has tried and failed to paint DSK as a convicted rapists and serial molester, something as yet has far from being proven and certainly not when marie has been called out to either back up her claims - or desist - as she did eventually.

This man may be a rich old pervert, I have no doubt about that. But despite his wealth and fame he has not been given the presumption of innocence - people like marie have been desperate for him to be guilty either by a fixation with rich perverts, or a hatred of the French (or both) when it may not be the case.

His accuser has no credibility left, she was in it for money as the civil case shows.

And like I said, I think they should both be fined for wasting precious judicial time.

Apparently he thinks all he has to do is display his naked, squat, Bilbo Baggins-like body to younger women and they naturally will perform all sorts of sex acts with him without ANY coersion (either forcibly or with money) on his part.

Money is not coercion Fadamor. I think you would be surprised what young women will do to get into the lavish parties of the obscenely wealthy, and they do it of their own volition. Nothing attracts women like money, not even guitar skillz. Its just the way it is. And if he had offered Diallo money, this whole episode may not have happened.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

For most, this just makes him look even worse than before.

Oh, I agree Triumvere. I was stating his point of view, not mine.

It was his second affair in the US. And he had some in France.

I have to object to use of the word affair here Cos. Affairs are often actual relationships, and to me, that is all the word should refer to. He never had a relationship with Diallo. In fact, I am not aware of the guy having extra-marital relationships with anyone. All I hear about is his sex romps. He is entitled to live his life that way, but lets not mix him up with a higher level of people who have affairs.

Also, I must point out its his reputation in France he cares about, not America. A Frenchman would understand my above paragraph, and is not so concerned about extra-marital sex.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Meanwhile, in recent weeks, Strauss-Kahn has been implicated in a prostitution ring probe in northern France, although he has insisted that he was unaware that women at the numerous orgies he took part in were prostitutes.

Oh yeah. This guy is REALLY concerned about his reputation. Apparently he thinks all he has to do is display his naked, squat, Bilbo Baggins-like body to younger women and they naturally will perform all sorts of sex acts with him without ANY coersion (either forcibly or with money) on his part. The guy needs to intimidate maids or use prostitutes. I think he's going to have a tough time with his countersuit.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Well, in his defense, this is about his reputation, not money.

For most, this just makes him look even worse than before. If he thinks he is improving his image. he needs to hire a new PR guy.

Well, in his defense, this is about his reputation, not money

But reputation is like virginity, you lose it only once. The second time, that changes nothing. It was his second affair in the US. And he had some in France.

Virtuoso:

" Let me get this straight: he's some kind of financial wizard and he thinks he can get awarded one million "

Try to get this straight: It is NOT about the money. The figure is simply meant to show her that this is serious. Falsely accusing people of rape simply to rip them off is not something she should get away with.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Virtuoso its not about the money. use ur head. its about totally killing her credibility. and she will lose.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

about time someone goes after her

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Let me get this straight: he's some kind of financial wizard and he thinks he can get awarded one million big ones from someone working as a hotel maid? Maybe it's a good thing he's out of the banking business.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

I have no sympathy for Strauss-Kahn, but that scamming witch deserves to be sued and jailed.

She concocted the story simply to make money and had no problem with seeing an guy go to jail for a false charge. Send her the bill, and then send her packing back to to Somalia.

Right now in the U.S. it is very easy for a woman or child to call "wolf" and be believed with out there being any kind of investigation. Certainly there has to be protection for those vulnerable, but is is easy to ruin a person's life with a false accusation and it appears the maid took advantage of that. But on the other hand Mr. Kahn is no saint either.

You always should err on the side of caution in cases like these. In the case of a flight risk (such as a foreign national), you would arrest the individual while investigating the charges once a complaint has been filed. In this particular case, no one has proven she lied. The prosecutor dropped the charges when it became apparent there wasn't enough evidence to convict. That DOESN'T prove he's innocent, just that he couldn't be convicted.

Here's what we DO know. DSK publically apologized for having a dalliance with this maid in New York. The difference in their stories is that he said it was consentual and she says it was forced. His countersuit is B.S. because HE'S the one who "undermined Strauss-Kahn’s reputation and damaged 'other professional opportunities', not her. Had he kept it in his pants, his reputation would be squeaky clean.

"the numerous orgies he took part in"

What a stud muffin!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

DSK was framed and now he's getting his revenge.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I'm sure she's good for it.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I've said all along both DSK and Diallo should be persecuted for wasting police and the courts time.

Diallo yes for crying rape. But Strauss-Kahn? I very much doubt that he wanted to be accused of rape which in turn affected his career and future career prospects.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

The City of New York, the State of New York and the whole United States have to take some blame as well.

Right now in the U.S. it is very easy for a woman or child to call "wolf" and be believed with out there being any kind of investigation. Certainly there has to be protection for those vulnerable, but is is easy to ruin a person's life with a false accusation and it appears the maid took advantage of that. Still have to wonder how much of the taxpayers money has been wasted on this.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Well I guess I will have to wait for the resulting verdict of the lawsuit. I dont think even if he wins his case that he will ever receive damages to the extent that he is claiming., A maid would not have those sort of funds in her lifetime

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Gee marie, I'm surprised you're interested in proof after your still unsubstantiated accusations, that would be seen as slanderous lies in any court of law, that you screamed on the last encounter.

Interesting. Why not wait until the verdict in this case, eh?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Dominique Strauss-Kahn got caught with his pants down ... and now he's trying to save face. Guess the scumbag wants to get back near the IMF cash flow again so that he can resume his lavish lifestyle.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

You've have certainly convinced yourself the man is a serial rapist and molester, but you haven't convinced anyone else.

I am convince of all but the serial part, although I am not aware of tmarie claiming that bit.

No amount of money will ever get that back.

I did not say it would. You seem to be in the habit of stuffing words in people's mouths.

(and had previously made rape claims that were false)

By your own link it was one claim, not claims. And that claim was verbal and not officialized in any capacity.

because it became clear to police and prosecutors that not only was she lying

By your own link this is also not true. They considered her untrustworthy and decided her case was hopeless because of her character, NOT because they decided she was lying about the rape.

Your link also points out that they found no evidence of violence and that she changed her story. But what always sticks in my craw is that Strauss-Kahn has NO STORY for us to examine. He may be a dirty old man, but the NYC case was thrown out because it became clear to police and prosecutors that not only was she lying (and had previously made rape claims that were false), but that she thought she was on a cash-cow according to the jail house call to her convict boyfriend.

Link for this info please.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

"well, in his defense, this is about his reputation, not money."

No amount of money will ever get that back.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Oh, and you know the media is against you when they're using a gurning photo like the one on this article.

Heh, happened a lot to W Bush at the end too.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

"prosecuted for wasting police and the courts time" whoops.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Well, in his defense, this is about his reputation, not money. But if he made the lawsuit for a token amount like one dollar, Diallo would just pay and end of trial. If it were for 10, 000, the court might not accept it as a proper estimation of damages. The suit had to be for a high amount.

The case will probably be thrown out because no one had proven that Diallo lied. No verdict was ever issued in criminal court. He should have waited for the outcome of her civil case against him, where he will prove her a liar by explaining how his juice innocently got on her uniform LOL. Can't wait to hear it! Its going to be a whopper!

"You just know this maid has a million just lying around. Some people are so entitled in life."

He may be a dirty old man, but the NYC case was thrown out because it became clear to police and prosecutors that not only was she lying (and had previously made rape claims that were false), but that she thought she was on a cash-cow according to the jail house call to her convict boyfriend.

The only winners out of this are lawyers on ridiculous hourly rates, and the only loser is the American taxpayer.

I've said all along both DSK and Diallo should be persecuted for wasting police and the courts time.

What a zero. You just know this maid has a million just lying around. Some people are so entitled in life.
