“I know the timing is frustrating, but I want to give people a sense of the scale of what we are grappling with here,” Sunak told broadcasters. “There are around 22,000 schools in England and the important thing to know is that we expect that 95% of those schools won’t be impacted by this.”

Sunak says not to panic, only 5% of schools will collapse……. That’s 1,100 schools. 1,100. Bloody hell.

Now a crumbling government.

The crumbling buildings are due to the lack of proper building codes to have prevented it from happening. There is a history of concrete problems.

RAAC panel cracking was discovered in 1996.

Parents have to know their kids are safe when in school.

crumbling schools, healthcare, crumbling infrastructure have nothing to do with Brexit, and everything to do with supporting imperialist adventures like Ukraine. Spend the money at home.

Nah, all that began with the increasingly unstable Margaret Thatcher's importation of Milton Friedman's unhinged monetarist lunacy into the UK in the 1980s. It's been downhill all the way since then....

The wonderful Glenda Jackson has a few choice words about Thatcherism and underinvestment in education in this speech:

Still, the UK is regressing more to a 3rd world country but who cares when there’s a jag on the drive

Fantastic.

Is it 16/4 litre?

Brexit took sterling down 25% and increased costs, causing rampant inflation. Prices have gone up and will not go down. Halving inflation will simply reduce the rate of increase. The Tory Brexit has made the UK about one third poorer. That will damage the lives of most Britons for generations. It is the economic equivalent of losing a war.

But Brexit was just the biggest failure. We shouldn't forget all the smaller ones too.

Run the country? The Tories couldn't run a bath.

From an outside perspective, it seems like a country putting sanctions on itself.

But food prices are up across the board for the G7 nations. Was there an Amercexit or Japexit that I don't know about?

Is inevitable that prices are increased around the world but those increase even more in UK.

"..UK inflation peaked at 11.1% in October 2022. EU inflation was 6.1% ..."

Private wealth, public squalor is what is behind it as the Tories (and Tory-like Blair) have unerringly supported their moneyed masters and their rabid propaganda wing. And now the chickens are coming home to roost. Wealth tax now for all those who have done unfairly out of 40 years of upward funnelling of wealth.

It’s got everything to do with underinvestment in schools, healthcare and infrastructure over decades.

Brexit is a disaster but can’t take all of the blame for this. Aiding Ukraine after the never going to happen/all cooked up by the MSM invasion by Russia can’t take all of the blame for this either.

By the way, have you been reading that Brexit has been good for the UK economy?

Please share the sources.

Risk assessments detailing the inherent dangers associated with Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC), date back to the early 90's, always a political football for governments of all shapes and sizes to be kicked down the road.

A pass the parcel of political financial misery to finally end up in Prime Minister Rishi Sunak lap.....

Brexit forever the go to, to proportion preposterous blame politically, as the main protagonist without a shred of coherent evidence.

Brexit, just get over it.

It is caused by Brexit, most of items price increase while govt budget is limited.

Mr Sunak is an out of touch bounder, his priorities are to make money for his chums and stay in power. Him and his ilk care little for the common man unless they think it may lose them power, then they will do some token stuff to show that they care.

Higher food inflation for the UK was a given considering it's an island, so a weak argument for a failure of Brexit.

Infrastructure?

Healthcare?

The UK pound is 185 against the yen and my little business is booming!
