it's not the people who are popping off that pay the price,” Obama said, “it’s our incredible men and women in uniform.

Heh, the same ones that he proposes to "pay the price" with a 345 percent increase in Tricare premiums.

Yeah, let's not talk about Ron Paul at all, what else to expect

Republicans should just give up. They aren't going to get into the White House with ANY of these potential candidates.

Voting in America at the moment is like Driving: (D) - Forward (R) - Reverse‏.

Almost fell off my chair when I spotted this last night -

"Barbara Bush has some harsh words about the current presidential election, calling it "the worst campaign I've ever seen in my life," according to the Dallas Morning News.

The former first lady, who held the position while her husband George H.W. Bush served as president from 1989 to 1993, made the comment at Southern Methodist University on Monday, during a conference chronicling the the experiences and legacies of presidents' wives. Expanding on her opinion about the tenor of the current campaign season, Barbara Bush stated: "I hate the fact that people think 'compromise' is a dirty word."

That's an amazing comment - the mother who brought the worst, most destructive and divisive U.S. president in history - GWB - into the world is saying the current crop of GOP candidates are part of "the worst campaign I've ever seen in my life."

That's one heck of a smackdown. :-)

Republicans having been driven off their economic message by a detour into a nasty debate over whether religious-affiliated institutions such as hospitals and universities should be required to offer health insurance coverage for contraceptives.

Good luck with that.

"Republicans having been driven off their economic message "

Republicans have never had an economic message.

No, that's not correct. There is - in fact - at least one word in the Republican economic vocabulary: "Recession."

Romney will assuredly walk away with the most delegates, but he's going to be a sad, sad man tomorrow as momentum shifts to Santorum.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I've never seen in my lifetime a California primary which meant anything. Thank you, Republican Party - you've filled that space between the Holidays and the Olympics!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

These candidates are a joke.....especially Santorum.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

LOL! This split win is an election year gift for president Obama and the Democrats.

The winger candidates will no have to spend even more money to win.

I hope not. I really really want Satorum to go away. I had just gotten to where I wanted to be with my faith in the workplace, with my little St. Matthew statue right next to my refrence books and no annoying questions about it, when one of the younger supervisors started asking me why Catholics hated birth control so much and now it's spread to the other employees. I don't normally care about primaries but I just want Romney to win so I can wait this out in my office.

I don't think any of the people in this branch even know what mormonism is. That should shut them up long enough for them to go back to making fun of how much my country's soccer team sucks, I just can't break it to them that I don't even know who's on the team.

Absolutely jaw-dropping stuff watching the GOP candidates and their conservative supporters ensure president Obama wins a second term.

You just couldn't make this stuff up. :-)

0 ( +1 / -1 )

They call this a circular firing squad, I believe.

“At the last minute I did vote for Santorum,” the 51-year-old media monitor said. “It was like (the children’s game) ‘rock-paper-scissors’ in my head.”

Thus spoke the Republican voters...

Hank McCormick, 65, voted for Romney and attacked Obama for failing to deliver as hard-hit states like Ohio struggle to emerge from a painful recession with a stubbornly high unemployment rate of 8.3 percent.

“I want a businessman in there, someone who understands profit and loss and who can beat the opponent,” he said. “Three and a half years ago, everybody was looking for some change. Now I’m looking for a reverse.”

Looks like Hank needs to get some facts straight before helping to lumbar the world with Mitt the businessman. In 2011, annual average unemployment rates declined in 48 states and rose in 2 states and the District of Columbia, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on February 29, 2012. Employment-population ratios decreased in 24 states and the District of Columbia, increased in 19 states, and were unchanged in 7 states. The U.S. jobless rate in 2011 was 8.9 percent, down 0.7 percentage point from the prior year. The national employment-population ratio continued to trend down to 58.4 percent in 2011. In 2011, 30 states posted statistically significant unemployment rate decreases, the largest of which was in Michigan (-2.4 percentage points). Four additional states experienced decreases greater than 1.0 percentage point: Ohio (-1.4 points), Utah (-1.3 points), Oregon (-1.2 points), and Indiana (-1.1 points).

I guess America finally got enough tissues to wipe the Santorum off? Glad to hear it. Not that I want Romney to be president. Not at all. Romney also thinks he has some business in our bedrooms, just not as much as Santorum.

Its just too bad most voters don't have the intelligence to comprehend Ron Paul.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

This is terrible.

Mitt Romney – the Elitist’s Elitist, the Defender Of The 1% - STILL can’t seal the deal.

"a clash with President Barack Obama"

It's going to be a slaughter! Right, Sushi?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The ONLY way that Romney can carry the day is through his massive financial advantage.

Considering the overall weakness of all of the candidates left in the race, it's amazing that he's having to spend an amount of financial resources he likely never thought he'd have to spend - just to slowly slouch towards being his party's nominee.

Being the least weak in a field of the weak is not a good place to be...

When the GOP gets their anti-American butts toasted by the Dems in November and the recriminations and backstabbing dies down, they are going to have to realize one very clear fact: if you want to win a general election, don’t front up with a bunch of clowns.

@Lieberman "Sushi posts stiff" Not a good image.

"just smile" Please do--the joke is on you. Didn't you notice that in 20 posts about Rush vs. the grad student, you racked up arond 55 thumbs down and not a single thumbs up from JT readers. Time for a new name or hobby?

President Obama may be the first president in history to win every state with the possible exception of Idaho.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"with the possible exception of Idaho."

Why Idaho?

Y'know I don't think your reknowned devining rod works in reverse... ;)

The country will continue to head in the wrong direction if Paul isn`t in. Why do Americans always keep going down this road? Very silly.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Hey Serrano, Im not sure why you are so keen on another Obama win. I mean, hes just gonna keep taking everyone`s freedom, bankrupt the country, master the the art of being a puppet and start more wars. You like this? At some point this will come to a head and the revolt will start.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@pointofview

You must be new here. Serrano dislikes Obama as much as you do.

"keep taking everyone's freedom" Oh yeah? Americans still have freedom, thanks for asking.

"bankrupt the country" Wow, one person can do that by his little lonesome?

"master the art" That is an interesting theory, but you forgot to say whose puppet he is.

"start more wars" Don't hold back on your list of all the wars Obama started.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Why Idaho?"

Check out the 2008 vote in Idaho, Madverts. Democrats, even Obama, have an uphill battle there.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@point of view:

I'm listening --- please let me know which repub candidate will not do the same?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Heh, the same ones that he proposes to "pay the price" with a 345 percent increase in Tricare premiums.

Heh, its too bad that repubilcans start failed wars that kill thousands of Americans and wound tens of thousands. Hospital costs would be much much loser without failed wars to pay for. It cost $400 million just to look for the never there WMD bush and cheney talked about.

The country will continue to head in the wrong direction if Paul isn`t in. Why do Americans always keep going down this road? Very silly.

What is very silly is taking Paul seriously. He is the Nader of the right. A loser. A spoiler. He is about as presidential as Minny Pearl.

We need a change, Obama never turned out to be the hope the world was wanting or the USA, very lame leader at least the GOP follows thru even if some don't agree.... I will vote and it wont be for the DEMs again... Wish we had somebody as strong as Bush or Regan to help us all... we need it...No more Mr. Obama

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Well then all keep paying you high taxes and enjoy getting shackled.

ToraTora,

You obviously don`t pay much attention. Enjoy the ride to austerity in the future.

Not new just don`t live on here.

Zucronium,

Unfortunately Americans have taken every other politician seriously and have been duped. Time for some new blood. You are obviously not a man of peace and freedom.

Zurc, it's been 10 years since the invasion and I've yet to see you get into any kind of political discussion without mentioning Iraq or Cheney. At some point you're going to have to wake up and realize that the world is looking at your comments and wondering what the hell is wrong with you.

It's a long way to go.

and the Republicans would be any different??.... either way, they are both at the paid service of the corporations who run the country in their own interest anyway

0 ( +0 / -0 )

grammefriday,

The Republicans wouldn`t be any different but Ron Paul would be. Why is the US so brainwashed with the current system?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

nahaman,

I guess you don`t pay attention.
