In the corrupt, class-ridden corridors of power in merry old England where "justice" is not blind, but routinely give a nod and a wink to her "betters", the privileged powers-that-be, the quality of mercy is famously strained. "Perfidious Albion" describes perfectly the centuries-old malaise that afflicts both the moribund self-entitled few and the blind majority of their underlings who obsequiously serve. The treacherous Tories will deliver the head of Assange on a plate to their American "Masters of War" while the world waits for the long-anticipated trial that will be sure to showcase the usual travesty of justice we have come to expect when unscrupulous, vindictive US government officials take their wonted "pound of flesh" and mete out their "cruel and unusual" punishments" to those who have defied their will and exposed their malicious mischief and war crimes to the scrutiny of the world.

It is interesting to compare the U.S. Government's actions in attempting to get Assange extradited to this country with its actions in refusing to extradite to Britain Ms. Anne Sacoolas, who actually caused someone's death. This is all a side-show, of course. The person our government really wants, but cannot get, is Edward Snowden. Assange is just a stand-in.

Don’t send Assange to the US!

Assange is a scumbag, but he shouldn't be extradited to a developing country known for its harsh punishments and religious fanaticism, like the USA.

I can never live in such an evil country as the UK again. This is an outrage.

If hadn’t chosen to hide in a cupboard to avoid investigation in Sweden this would have been over years ago. If he had stayed in Sweden he either would not have been charged and free to go, or found guilty, served his sentence and would be free now. Instead he chose to run to the U.K., which has a very robust extradition agreement with the US, where he used and abused supporters, then jumped bail so they defaulted the very large sums they posted on his behalf. He is a grotesque narcissist and any good he did with wiki leaks has been superseded by his entitlement and active promotion of a cult of personality.

Nothing astonishing, the judge is just following their masters' wish.

Talking about judiciary independence..!

The liars in our governments don't like it when people expose their lies and secrets. They are the ones who need to be extradited. Let the people of Afghanistan and Iraq have them.

I'm more sympathetic towards people like Manning and Snowden because I feel they did what they thought was morally right. As for Assange - I couldn't care less. He seems to be trouble everywhere he goes, and was complicit in the wikileaks which lead to Trump's election. It was delightful to watch him being dragged out of the embassy and carted off to jail. (Hope Trump gets the same treatment).

Agreed Pukey. On all counts. The world is poisoned by narcissists.

How come the #me too thing is not on this guy for all those accusations of sexual assaults.

hmmm I wonder which way the narrative would go if Trump pardoned Assange.

He absolutely should, but alas he can´t go there.

For one because they are all from one person and "all those" is a gross overstatement. For two, the claim that what happened is a "rape" or "sexual assault" is demeaning to all real rape and sexual assault victims. In fact, it all just looks like an attempt to smear Assange without a single care for how it will negatively affect a woman's movement such as Metoo.

Give it up Vanessa he is a creep and a weirdo. It was all about him not the Troof.

And now he is in a prison of his own making.....the Assange Reality Show iat its pitiful series end.

What are you talking about, there were multiple women that were affected. They were also threatened and accused of "attempting to smear Assange".

Why are you gate keeping and victim blaming? What happen to "believe all women"? Or is it not convenient?

That's not true either. I found after checking there were but two.

They were also threatened and accused of "attempting to smear Assange".

Gee, I wonder why? Looks like they took a famous guy to bed at the drop of a hat who also happened to be a "wanted man" for the U.S. government. Played with fire and got a bit singed did they?

What happen to "believe all women"? Or is it not convenient?

What ever happened to reading comprehension? I never said I did not believe them. In fact, I completely believe them! But their complaints about tampered condoms with no pregnancy or disease to go with it just doesn't sound like something to go to the police about. Nor should that be called a sexual assault. I take sexual assault seriously and cases like this make it seem like a rather trivial thing.

Why are you gate keeping and victim blaming?

Victims? The primary victim I see here is Julian Assange. If we start throwing people in jail over every single tiny sexual transgression there is hardly going to be anyone left to run the cash registers. The two women would also be in jail.

Two is too many.

Different countries have different criteria of what is defined as sexual assault, some are more stringent than others.

You don't get to define what sexual assault is or get to dismiss the feelings of these women.

You do realize that you're victim blaming, gate keeping, and idolizing assange, do you?
