Oh wait! unless you live in a Dem controlled state where taxes are unbearable... to pay for Union benefits; free healthcare and freebees for those on welfare.... and pay for services cleaning the poop of homeless Dem-supporters in city streets.

I live in a parliamentary democracy (not the United States) where we have a universal healthcare system which is supported by all parties on the political spectrum, Left or Right. This exists alongside the opportunity for the wealthier citizen to purchase private health insurance, which gives them the opportunity to have a better class of bed and probably a better meal come dinnertime - but not a better standard of healthcare, which is the same whoever you are. This system is supported by the vast majority of the population and any attempt by any political party to stuff around with it would be fatal to that party.

The rest of your post has no relevance to anyone outside Republican Americans, who it seems to me are always banging on about having to pay taxes and Democrat poop.

If the reputation is so bad ...then why thousands of people are dying to cross the border, or sneak in .... who can't wait to get to the welfare line?

Gee, you're so right. Compared to Honduras, or Guatemala, or Venezuela, or Mexico, the United States is indeed a Paradise. To those of us who live in other socially democratic countries which actually function, though, the US looks like a madhouse, with the lunatics in charge.

Well... let's see.... the Southern Wall is up....

The US-Mexico boarder is about 1,954 miles long. How much of that has a new Trump wall? And how much has Mexico paid to build a wall?

Or are you talking about a new fence on the south side of the Whitehouse?

The international reputation of the United States has declined further in the wake of its handling of the coronavirus pandemic

in the wake of it’s pandemic handling...

They are still in the midst of tidal waves! There is still plenty of time to keep mess things up further!!!

the allies America has always relied upon see it as damaged, unreliable and has a leader that is basically an incompetent fool. So much so that most believe that Putin is a better leader. It doesnt get much worse than that.

On top of that, Trump is the most disgusting and vulgar representative the US has ever had. He wouldn't even taste India cuisine and when he visited the UK he spouted that he would've loved to lay Lady Di.

There's so many uncountable instances, he's an embarassment to us Americans. He's the kind of people you don't want to take along anywhere because you're so nervous all the time that he'll interrupt everyone with a childish overbearing X-rated joke or something. Absolutely sociopathic to the max.

I don't think the study is correct: once Trump was elected, US already hit the bottom of the reputation barrel.

If the reputation is so bad ...then why thousands of people are dying to cross the border, or sneak in .... who can't wait to get to the welfare line?

If the reputation tanks even more..... then this could only benefit the US.... as people (pretenders and hypocrites) .... will be discouraged from sneaking in, overstay their visas and then live in the US permanently.

Of course! And they've had their voice and representation for four years now, and see where it's got you.

Well... let's see.... the Southern Wall is up.....and the Stock Market is even higher. More jobs, more choices and brighter economic outlook.... unlike the previous clueless one..... who said: "If you want your plan you can keep your plan....if you want your doctor you can keep your doctor" and it will save families $2500/year, which was all a big fat lie.

What I'm saying is that it's time for those US citizens who don't fall into those, or any other Trump-supporting category, to reassert their own voices and vote this malign world presence out of office.

Vote him out? No way, now that the US is energy independent and gas prices have gone down ....less Fed taxes and more money in people's pockets..... so quite unlike the term of the clueless one...... Oh wait! unless you live in a Dem controlled state where taxes are unbearable... to pay for Union benefits; free healthcare and freebees for those on welfare.... and pay for services cleaning the poop of homeless Dem-supporters in city streets.

Many nations around the world used to try to emulate the USA which was a great indication that the country was where others wanted to be. With Trump leading America nobody wants to emulate them now. It is true that for many people around the world the US is an untrustworthy country and a laughing stock because of the lies and BS that Trump speaks daily. The world can see the effect perhaps better than the Trump supporters, when it comes to his atrocious behavior.

Trump supporters will attempt to influence the election in legal and illegal ways to get Trump reelected. Russia is again interfering to influence the outcome for its inside man to win again. Should Trump win again it will signal a new low for America and the world, where radical fools can lie and bring the world to its knees as America is on its knees.

The fact that the pew research has shown that the allies America has always relied upon see it as damaged, unreliable and has a leader that is basically an incompetent fool. So much so that most believe that Putin is a better leader. It doesnt get much worse than that.

The international reputation of the United States has declined further in the wake of its handling of the coronavirus pandemic, according to new research Tuesday from the Pew Research Center.

LOL. It appears that Pew has adjusted the data of their poll to produce the results Pew wanted. Considering that the CNN-types joined the democrat party "resist" movement before Trump was elected, and that the CNN-types are the major alleged-news-of-the-U.S.A outlet in foreign countries, it's not a surprise that Pew's handpicked results would not look good for the Trump administration. Fortunately, the people Pew polled can not vote in U.S. elections.

seems you are more offended than the people who live there are.

They give him very positive ratings.

Countries trump himself labels ‘s***holes’

Are rednecks and conspiracy theorists not citizens? Don’t they deserve a voice and representation?

Of course! And they've had their voice and representation for four years now, and see where it's got you.

Maybe some Americans think it doesn't matter what people outside the borders of the United States think about Donald Trump, or how they feel about him, but it does. If he were the President of Chad, maybe, or even Switzerland, it wouldn't be so important. But he's not, and whether we like it or not, the leadership and direction of that behemoth of a country of yours matters to all of us.

Its almost like all the positive countries were excluded, here is the previous year report with the "usual" countries and their data

https://www.pewresearch.org/global/2018/10/01/americas-international-image-continues-to-suffer/

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

here is the actual wording that was purposely excluded from the AP article

https://www.pewresearch.org/global/2020/09/15/us-image-plummets-internationally-as-most-say-country-has-handled-coronavirus-badly/

In previous years, confidence in Trump has been relatively higher in some countries such as India, Israel, Kenya, Nigeria and the Philippines, but due to the coronavirus outbreak, interviewing is not currently possible in countries such as these where we typically conduct face-to-face interviews.

all- meaning the ones that are normally included in this specific research report, yes.

I do believe those 2 countries are always included in this. also India and a few others.

All? You mean Israel and the Philippines?

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

all of the pro-Trump countries that are normally included in this were excluded.

All? You mean Israel and the Philippines?

I don't think Donald Trump cares the lives of others, not to mention about America's reputation!

I don't think the study is correct: once Trump was elected, US already hit the bottom of the reputation barrel.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

which meant all of the pro-Trump countries that are normally included in this were excluded.

the AP article last night online listed those countries, identified that they have high levels of Trump support, but were excluded, but now it was edited.

Due to restrictions related to the pandemic, all surveys were conducted by phone.

The pandemic only made it worse. Trumpian USA was already a laughing stock before this year.

Should society be stratified by castes where rednecks and Trump lovers are lower class citizens?

I'm sorely tempted to reply to this.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

This world will not suffer a fool gladly. Everybody but Trump and his cult followers has read Hans Christian Andersen and understood that the significance of "The Emperors New Clothes" has reached its apotheosis in our lifetime with the advent of Trumpism.

The immortal words of that real president, "You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time" would serve as a fitting epitaph for this disastrous sham presidency, the likes of which nobody has ever seen before.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

At no point does BigYen suggest that. You're arguing with someone who exists only in your mind.

Remember, these are people who say lizards are going to make you take a mind-controlling vaccination and then they'll plant a chip in you.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

The rednecks and the conspiracy theorists and the hopeless Trump lovers won't care about that, but the grown-ups should.

Are rednecks and conspiracy theorists not citizens? Don’t they deserve a voice and representation? Should society be stratified by castes where rednecks and Trump lovers are lower class citizens?

-13 ( +2 / -15 )

I’m sure I’ll still vote for Trump.

-16 ( +1 / -17 )

The worst president ever never did care about anything other than himself, which translated into nationalism and self interest for the USA, and dismissed diplomacy. Breaking a number of treaties and agreements have made the international community wary of dealing with the America.

It used to be a trusted country, but with a unilateral war against Iraq starting the USA down a slippery slope of conservative paranoia, the international community has gone from seeing a courageous country to a petty one.

With Trump's election, the world has understandably seen truth become lies as a warning sign against American society and social issues, which cannot be solved with such a binary and half stupid country existing.

And as such, the handling of the coronavirus exacerbated wariness toward Trump and the USA, as more stupidity led to poor handling and a greater outbreak and death. It could have been prevented to a large degree, but a stubborn and idiotic Trump, who prefers his own lies over scientific research, has led to the opposite, and yes, other countries are watching.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Americans have to vote Trump out in November. If they don't, the US - not China, not Russia - is going to become the world's pariah state. The rednecks and the conspiracy theorists and the hopeless Trump lovers won't care about that, but the grown-ups should. It's time for America to redeem itself in the eyes of the world for giving us all this disaster zone for the past four years.

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Republicans presidents trash the economy and destroy the reputation of the country abroad. Democrats presidents have to clean this up.

Nothing new. Trump is just at an even more disastrous level.

15 ( +16 / -1 )

Trump has been successful in making the US a laughingstock at home and abroad. Xi and Putin are smiling. But what should worry is though Trump's unstable, not just because of his recent medical events', he still commands the largest military in the world. And given Trump's economy is a failure and the US has long relied on wars to make its economy strong, if he's re-elected the globe could be at even greater risk.
