The world would be better off without ultra-conservative religious extremists and the harm that they cause, and it doesn't matter the religion – be they ultra-Orthodox Jews, Muslim jihadists, or far-right Christians. They’re all one in the same and not a dime's worth of difference between them, always trying to impose their version of the "one true faith" on those around them.

But notice one common link: almost all of the violent crazies are adherents of the monotheistic Abrahamic religions. IMO, the proliferation of this group of ideologies is one of the worst things to ever happen to humanity.

"The attack, which threatens to set off another violent escalation, shines a light on the growing lawlessness of extremist Jewish settlers" - article

Time to stop the billions to Israel's religious slaughter. The GOP-Tea can't get enough of playing lap dog to Israeli slaughter with American tax dollars. Sickening. A child burned to death for the Jewish God? Obviously the Democracy of Israel is working really well. Killing children for their God? How many taxpayer dollars from Americans killed that child? All of them. Idiots.

Where are the articles and the global condemnation when islamic extremists murder many people in Israel? The Israelies did not celebrate this criminals actions either.

Do you condemn the Palestinian aggression equally?

The GOP-Tea can't get enough of playing lap dog to Israeli slaughter with American tax dollars.

And many Western nations fund and side with the Ultra-right wing of Hamas and could feel nothing but joy to see the end of the Jewish State.

Sickening. A child burned to death for the Jewish God?

Yes, it is, very sickening, but what about a person blowing themselves in the name of Allah? Does that get and equal condemnation from you as well?

Obviously the Democracy of Israel is working really well. Killing children for their God? How many taxpayer dollars from Americans killed that child? All of them. Idiots.

I feel the exact same way about the forces that want to destroy Israel and the PEACEFUL Palestinians (meaning Hamas)

This is what happens when the Jewish state sits by and does nothing but encourage expansion and not crack down on such extremism.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

wait wait wait!

Lets not go in the wrong direction here. Many "Orthodox Jews" are against the brutal treatment of the Palestinians. Those in the settlements are not Orthodox, they are Zionists. Notice how the writer(s) never mention what that terrorist who burned the house believes in. But in the 4th paragraph, they try to tie it to the Orthodox gay attack story, which is irrelevant.

Finally in the 12th paragraph we get the truth "Zionist pioneers".

And lets not forget, the Zionist pioneer terrorism, which is an everyday horror for the Palestinians, are supported with a million dollar a day gift from the good ole USA. "But they're our terrorists".......so everything's cool bra.

There have been plenty of articles, maybe you chose not to read them. It sounds as if you condone this action by not acknologing it is an atrocity. How do you know that other extremist, Orthodox Jews didn't celebrate this?

@ bass. Of course they don't.

Yes, it is, very sickening, but what about a person blowing themselves in the name of Allah? Does that get and equal condemnation from you as well?

No, it doesn't get equa condemnation bass. And lord forbid someone "posts" a negative comment about IS or other extremists when these incidents occur. They thumb you down. Baffling isn't it.

As a pro-Isreal american, this was a very sickening act. The Palestinian child did not deserve that.

Maybe you all should watch this before bringing Islam into the discussion. I'm sure it might open some eyes for those who trust the MSM.

Paid for with American tax dollars? Get it right, the Israelis killed that child with American dollars and it is sick making.

Why don't you put the blame on the people that DID the actual crime. Israel will always be an ally of the US, has been a strong one and nothing will change that. I just wish you would show the same outrage towards Hamas and the radical Jihadists that have hijacked the Palestinian government wing.

So get your 'pro' bull* in line with the truth. They burned a baby to death with US Tax dollars for their "god". Degusting.

Yes, it is, I totally agree. It's just as bad as suicide bomber going into a wedding and blowing himself up in the name of God.

Israel will always be an ally of the US

Bhwa ha ha ha ha!!

For a million bucks a day, who wouldn't?

'Show me, in any religious text, where God says to slaughter the innocent'

Read the book of Exodus for a kick-off. Yahweh tells Moses to commit genocide including the slaughter of the young. There are also other books with similar ideas. Other Jewish extremists justify stealing other people's land based on this books.

Other religious texts believed by extremist Muslims are used to justify the slaughter of non-believers and the complete expulsion of all non-believers from 'Muslim' lands.

I'd recommend a reading of these books. The word of god is a massive obstacle to finding peace in this part of the world.

Show me, in any religious text, where God says to slaughter the innocent.

Genesis 22:2

Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”

People who believe that bronze age texts are the literal word of God have to reckon with the fact that these texts are full of barbaric moral teachings.

Suspected Jewish assailants set fire to a West Bank home on Friday and burned a sleeping Palestinian toddler to death

No possible justification for this kind of atrocity. Israel could have had peace years ago, but walked away, and continues to provoke tensions with the constant expansions of the settlements.

The attack, which threatens to set off another violent escalation, shines a light on the growing lawlessness of extremist Jewish settlers that Israel is either unable or unwilling to contain.

Unwilling is more likely the case. Let's see if they prosecute these folks in the manner they deserve.

It's also worth pointing out that while the extremes of Judaism and Islam are very clear here, the influence of Christian extremists in the US who view the events in 'the holy land' through the prism of the second coming shouldn't be underestimated. A former GOP strategist, Kevin Phillips, wrote an excellent book called 'American Theocracy' outlining just how influential and damaging this extremist end of times Christianity is.

Don't know about cool, certainly not, calling all Israelis terrorists is at best a laughable joke.

It's also worth pointing out that while the extremes of Judaism and Islam are very clear here, the influence of Christian extremists in the US who view the events in 'the holy land' through the prism of the second coming shouldn't be underestimated.

I understand, but what does that have anything to do with the child being burned to death?

A former GOP strategist, Kevin Phillips, wrote an excellent book called 'American Theocracy' outlining just how influential and damaging this extremist end of times Christianity is.

Hmmmm, if that were true, then Christianscwould be making news of daily radical atrocities in a horrific scale, which is not happening.

Ha, I see you've fallen for the Western delusion that Eastern religions like Buddhism and such are all pacifist? Meanwhile how many articles have we been treated with recently about unrest in Burma? Religions are ideologies, and all ideologies are capable of violent behavior on the part of their adherents. Or does the death toll racked up by the atheist communists not count?

I'm talking about evangelical head cases who have real punch in the GOP in particular influencing US policy in this part of the world. You can also see this in the outrageous spectacle of wannabe presidents denying evolution on the national stage.

As someone who is noted for non-partisanship, I'm sure you would be the first to decry extremist Jews stealing land and committing atrocities, Muslim extremists committing atrocities and Christian extremists influencing government policy with crackpot ideas.

Horrible that a defenseless child had to be murdered here. I think that all religions are evil and they hurt and murder many millions of peoples with their BS Dogma and strange practices. Religion is a cult like practice and although it binds some peoples together , it also destroys the fabric of all humanity through it's practices like some voodoo theology yet legalized in thousands of years of actual practices.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

For once we're in agreement.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Religious extremists, whichever group or denomination they may belong to, generally have similar mentality. The ones who carried out this attack are no different from Samir Kuntar the child killer, released by Israel in an exchange deal.

The difference will be that the Israeli extremists will be identified and jailed and condemned by a majority of Israelis.

However Samir Kuntar was treated as a hero by the Islamic world, even getting presidential medals.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

But Palestinians terrorism is ok?

You're either traitor to the cause of freedom, or just a typical Zionist. I sure hope you don't identify yourself as an American.

Arab People have somehow came to accept the existence of Jewish in Middle east just like any other religious believe exist in Middle east . Since , other religions have also existed in middle east since islam birth . Yet , Land is for all , food will not become less because somebody joined the land . However , there actions or strategy taken by Israeli government to disturb the Palestinians (either muslims , or christians ) is well know .You can easily go to youtube and search about settler behaviours toward either religious visitors ( christians ) or tourist . Terrorism is not stigma made only for "mozzzelem" , it is a global problem . Author of this article , described the " unknown misconduct " as "extremist". Imagine , how the media would react to this crime . Of course , the would interview the family and make some sad documentaries and movies about this crime . Please stop the terror by bringing justice . A word may count in this parade against crimes of settlers against Palestinians .

it has been the fate of the palestine, it is happening time and again, the more painful aspect is that the world, the so called democratic leaders are always on the mute when these heinous crimes happen to the palestinians on their very own land.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Show me a religion under whose auspices believers have not slaughtered the innocent.

But this aside, this hideous crime is more a crime of politics than religion. Israel's right-wing has ipso facto made the killing of Palestinians either a virtue or excusable. Haaretz has extensively reported on the anti-Arab racism of Israeli Jews (as well as Israeli Jewish opposition to this racism). Netanyahu got his majority vote by using the bogey of hordes of Arab-Isaralis swarming to the polls.

An utterly ugly incident like this is telling of the ugly racist truth about Israel. Israel and ISIS are tactically not very far apart.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Supporters of the Israeli regime always demand people apologize for the 'aggression' of its victims when they fight back. This is like asking people to apologize for the 'aggression' of the ANC against the Afrikaaner state, or the 'aggression' of Blacks of Jim Crow American states before one is allowed to condemn the KKK violence. That the Israeli regime's violence, whether carried out by its uniformed armed militants or its (temporarily) non uniform wearing armed militants, is violence in the service of a crime against humanity (the refusal by the Israeli regime to allow the majority of its legal population, the Refugees, to vote is the actual definition of Apartheid under the same international agreement, one Japan has endorsed, that makes violence aimed at maintaining that system a crime against humanity) is completely irrelevant to them when they say that violence aimed at those trying to take away one's human rights is at least as bad, and they usually call it worse, as violence intended to terrorize the oppressed into allowing their rights to be taken from them.

but what about a person blowing themselves in the name of Allah?

a spineless act

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

@Sensenotsocommon

Blowing yourself up in the name of Allah or any other 'god' isn't spineless. It takes a lot for someone to turn themselves into flying mince. I'd regard anything which enables or helps anyone to do this with suspicion.

Jimizo: the innuendoed response to b4f's omission of 'up' was too subtle, then?

And a good reason for gun ownership and religious freedom. Thank you you wise ones.

While this cowardly act of right wing religious types is indeed horrible what is more so is the genocidal reign of terror that Israel enforces again Palestine as a whole. In the last illegal invasion of Gaza half the deaths numbering in the hundreds were children. Hundreds, not just one killed by the right wing religious nuts the Israeli government protects. It is a war crime what Israel is doing and the whole world knows this except for the right wing christina zealots who believe that Jesus will come back only when all the residents of Gaza, non-Jewish, are dead. It is sick thing religion and in particular christian religion.

So sad that man created god for his own purposes and not the other way round.

And how about the Palestinians protecting the Jewish cop from the Israeli extremists?!?!

Good and bad on both sides......
