Sweden will become a failed state just like the masses swamping the country are used to

Unless they send them back

Too late. Sweden's future is settled. There would be no legal basis to start throwing out the 100s of thousands already inside. The parallel societies will only become more pronounced as the years pass.

Demographics are any country's future, and with the birth rates in the immigrant communities outpacing the hosts', its just a matter of time.

So pardon me if I have nothing but disgust for those who disparage refugees and immigrants fleeing oppression.

These immigrants are overwhelmingly nothing but economic refugees and are fleeing their own failed states. Your grandparents, like mine, no doubt came from a similar culture with similar Judeo-Christian values of hard work, community and family. They enriched North America.

Today they bring their own failed cultures to countries like Sweden, France, etc, support the same failed politics and culture, and destroy those countries as well.

Like the sinking of the Titanic, once the flooding started, disaster became a mathematical certainty.

Unless they send them back

Your forgot to add to that sentence "to their deaths". If you knew any of these immigrants you might know how grateful they are to be able to live without fear of secret or religious police, being able to elect their leaders and being able to speak freely. The people you disparage came to the democracies fleeing tyrants intent on killing them. They are not out to kill us. They are grateful to be here. My own grandparents had to flee a similarly oppressive king to come to America. They were likewise reviled, called names and told to go home. Going back was never an option. My wife is an immigrant and she is picked on too. So pardon me if I have nothing but disgust for those who disparage refugees and immigrants fleeing oppression.

The majority, or vast majority, are already citizens.

@Skeptical has the only reasonable comment so far. Swedish prosecutors and the defense have completed their arguments in the crimes against humanity trial of Hamid Nouri. The jury could deliver a verdict any day. A few days ago on the 4th of May the government of Iran threatened to execute a Swedish scientist they arrested in 2016 and have held in prison since. The trial is sensitive because Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is also accused of participating in the mass executions of prisoners in Iran in the 1980s. Many inside and outside Iran believe that if Nouri is convicted then the hunt will be on for others involved in the murders of prisoners in Iran including Ebrahim Raisi.

The rest of the comments reflect the worst of humanity, rank bigotry and hatred of the other.

theFu Then there were the odd things that happened at some borders - between Austria and the Czech Republic, the train stopped at the border and the entire crew changed, passports/tickets were checked before the train started moving again.

That's fine and all but for those who travel often across borders on business, that's a full on pain in the butt.

Have to say, moving between different countries in Europe was a let down. Part of the travel-for-fun experience is getting a new passport stamp from a new country. Then there were the odd things that happened at some borders - between Austria and the Czech Republic, the train stopped at the border and the entire crew changed, passports/tickets were checked before the train started moving again. It was odd, at least to me. Imagine if airplanes did that?

I suspect the security problem is related to Putin's spies and 'teams' trying to get into countries considering NATO membership. That makes the most sense to me.

Even without Schengen, the UK had enough problems. Can't imagine the situation had the UK joined.

-border controls “cannot exceed a maximum total duration of six months.”

And after lapsing for a day, they will be renewed for another six months.

Schengen is over. Countries are determined to 'take back control' of their borders. Offline and online.

The Swedes have admitted that multiculturalism and their mass immigration program have failed.

In other news, the sun rises in the East.

Sweden reintroduces border checks, citing 'a serious threat'

Gee, wouldn’t have anything to do with the riots and criminal gangs turning this once peaceful nation into one now at the EU bottom for crime and violence?

I just love these stories that pretend to provide information but are too scared to be honest.

How’s that forced multiculturalism working out for ya’ll?

Likely has something to do with the war crimes trial of Hamid Nouri. Iran's foreign ministry has been increasingly losing a nut over the issue, as Nouri - allegedly having played a very key role in alleged government-ordered executions of political prisoners at the Gohardasht prison in Iran in 1988 - faces a life sentence in Swedish courts.

Border watch is understandable and reasonable under the likely circumstances.
