Where are the geniuses from yesterday on here talking about the perpetrator being from 'a certain religion of peace' and 'this is what you get with multiculturalism'?

Yes funky, agree...the "geniuses " are probably reconciling and justifying themselves waiting for another chance.

Hypervigilism meets bigotry and trigger mechanisms ?

Not the first time they have jumped the gun.

The media they consume fills them with fear and they aren’t the smartest to kick off with.

The result is predictable.

The man had a history of schizophrenia and was not supposed to have access to weapons.

The man had a history of schizophrenia and was not supposed to have access to weapons.

Where's that information from, please. I read a lot on this one:

I wonder if “no access to weapons” includes being given a spoon and fork instead of a knife and fork in a steak house.

You think this ridiculous? Have you ever tried to cut “Aussie beef” without a surgically sharp steak knife?

History of mental illness ...offender probably not going to give authorities a lot of useful information about motive.

That said, people with mental illness less likely to commit violent acts...check the stats.

Knife laws vary by state, and online shopping another issue.

I guess it can happen anywhere...people who want to cause mayhem will do so

Guns, knives, cars, poison, ....

One thing Aussies do have is alcohol violence...around midnight outside pubs and the like.

Mainly fist fights.

Appreciated.

Or, METATTOKYO. Same thing, anyway.

They suspect he must have mental disorder since police didn’t find any motives. It’s not like he was getting treatment of mental disorder. I suppose you can say this for anyone who would try to do such a horrible action.

Those who wanted to know about the murderer’s religion, he was a Christian. Gaza was not his motive.

By the way, my comment was based on what i read in yahoo.com.au news.

A couple of French men confronted the killer, using a bollard as a defence.

Well down Frenchy !!!

A sad story for everyone. Although more than sad, an uncomfortable story for those who jumped the gun with their racist conclusions before the relevant details had come out.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Indeed Strangerland...

"Fighto " wrote "a certain religion of peace " as a motive and "Black Samurai " wrote of the offender possibly being an "asylum seeker released from detention "

Recommend open heart and mind and travel to Muslim and ME nations would help.

Apparently , right wing figures in the UK spread disinformation saying it was "an Islamic terror attack ", sharing their mistaken views on "X"

just to balance things up, some figures in Australia misreported the offender as "Jewish "

Eual opportunity religious bigotry.

It’s sad that this isn’t the first time the usual suspects jumped the gun.

Can’t even learn from their mistakes.

Beyond help.

I will wait before making a final conclusion. Usually with these stories (sad as they are) it takes, sometimes months until we really know the full truth, we all have our opinions and the media being what is is overwhelmingly, I think the responsible thing is to just wait and see.

The geniuses are of course too fast for you. They know that valid rules have a few unexpected exceptions and I guess they quickly ran to that next and nearby stabbing in an Orthodox church or so. Maybe there they are.
