The topic is about Israel.

The Israelis continue to protest in the hundreds of thousands against Netanyahu. Seems to be uniting the people against him.

That is off topic.

Israelis are not protesting the self-defense of its country.

Syrian arab republic is internationally recognized state with its border, president and government.

Israeli attacks are violation of international law.

If you harbor terrorists who commit terrorist acts and plan to commit terrorist acts against Israel, then the law allows that.

Iran has pretty much surrounded Israel with enemies, Hezbollah, Hamas, the Syrian government, as well as Shiite militias in Iraq and Syria, as a way to deter an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear program.

From a military perspective non of those terrorist groups have the capability to stop Israel from launching an attack on Iran's illegal nuclear program.

As my dear decease mother was fond of telling me whenever I said I wish ..... "Wish in one hand and poo (she had an earthier term for it) in the other and see which one fills up the fastest".

Someone who likes to point out that the US isn't in the Persian Gulf going to point out that Iran isn't next to Syria?

What has to freak out Israeli leaders of all political persuasions is the possibility of Iran building up enough of a force structure in Syria to be able, with the help of Hezbollah and Hamas, to attack Israel directly and successfully. That is why the Israelis attack Iranian targets as soon as they can identify them with some certainty. I don't think such attacks depend on who the Israeli PM is. That fear of Iran cuts across party lines as best as I can tell and even a liberal Israeli PM would authorize such attacks.

Israel has intensified strikes in the last year on Syrian airports and air bases to disrupt what it says is Iran's use of aerial supply lines to deliver arms to militias.

Iran has pretty much surrounded Israel with enemies, Hezbollah, Hamas, the Syrian government, as well as Shiite militias in Iraq and Syria, as a way to deter an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear program. Having the US Army and allied Kurdish Peshmerga, there to fight IS but probably not by happenstance also sitting astride Iran's preferred land route across Iraq into Syria (recent Iranian attacks on US forces in Syria are testament to how disruptive those US forces are to the Iranians), they are relying more on air transport to move arms, material and fighters. Israel knows that if they attack Iran openly then Hezbollah will open the gates of hell. Hezbollah has tens of thousands of missiles and rockets many capable of reaching any point in Israel and they will use them. Iron Dome would be saturated and fail to keep up with such an attack. Iran has Israel checkmated.

No calls to ban Israeli athletes from the Olympics?

Israel didn't invade anyone. These are prophylactic strikes, though even I, pro-Israel, have a tough time with strikes that aren't against exact military imports from Iran to Hezbollah. Hezbollah will send rockets at Israeli locations, if they have them. Iran is providing those rockets which aren't precision weapons.

Israel isn't trying to expand into Syria. No ground troops. Deaths are due to proximity to weapons, not civilians who happen to be in the area.

I can agree that my pro-Israeli stance is warped, but Israel never attacked our people or country. Cannot say that about Hezbollah or Iran. I worked for an Israeli-owned company for 5 yrs and got to know the leaders and could see by their actions what type of people they were.

Did Russia declare war before sending 100K Russian soldiers to be killed in Ukraine? Nope.

That when Syria or Iran decide to respond by hitting the bases these Apartheid regime attacks are launched from, the headlines will be 'unprovoked attacks', 'dangerous escalations', is both a given, and a sad commentary on the lack of journalism ethics.

Fully aware that the US protects Israel, and clearly I have issues with Israel bullying its neighbors. If you think it will make me hate America, your on the wrong track. The US is far from perfect, as is my own nation which also tends to support Israel when it shouldn't.

The US for all its faults, does more good than harm and is needed in the world. The alternative of a China or Russia as the dominant nation in the world would be a disaster for freedom and progress everywhere.

@Peter14,

A disgrace that Israel attacks at will, where ever it likes and gets away with it scot free.

Do you know who shields Israel from international sanctions and allows them to get away scot-free? If you need a hint, ask this guy:

The reality is the US defends the free world, as much as it galls those who hate it. If not for America the world would be a hostile anarchy of wars and invasions everywhere. -Peter14 25/03/2023

Someone needs to send a few missiles at Israeli air bases to knock out some of those planes. A disgrace that Israel attacks at will, where ever it likes and gets away with it scot free. To cowardly to simply declare war with Iran and Syria, it acts like a thief in the night.

Really getting to dislike Israel under Nyetenyahoo. Another disgusting leader is something the world does not need.

If Iran thinks Israel is going to allow terrorists to be based in Syria, then they have another thing coming.
