Insurgents !!?, Rebels !!?, what else you wish to call them, why not call them what they are ????? Syrian Freedom Fighters ?? what is wrong with fighting for Freedom and independence ???

With the support of the SYRIAN PEOPLE, NATO Turkey, The U.S and Israel in the back ground and many Arabs across the middle east who are sick and tired of DICTATORS, TYRANTS, and CORRUPTION. this is just a continuation of the Arab Spring Movement and uprisings since 2010 to bring Democracy, and prosperity to their nations.

The speed in which these events are unfolding taking over the capital of Syria in a week was unimaginable few days ago, Tyranny and Oppression never works.

Guess Iran and Russia better start looking for a new BASE, possibly Iraq or Lebanon.

At least this new development in the area will stop covert operations of the US administration, stealing oil from Middle East.

That is terrible news. The Israeli government is of course happy, as they have long advocated for the destruction of the Assad regime. But the people in the West who cheer on these "freedom fighters" aka ISIS in fine clothes should have their head examined. Replacing the secular Assad regime with a religionist Sunni dictatorship is the last thing anyone should wish for Syria. How did this experiment in "freedom" work out in e.g. Libya?

On Friday, U.S.-backed fighters of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces captured wide parts of the eastern province of Deir el-Zour that borders Iraq

And asnusual the US administration finds business where there is desperation. Instead of distributing bread and hot meals, they provide American made weapons to incite more violence

Turkiye supports HTS and SNA but nobody else does. Seeing Syria become an Islamic Republic ruled by HTS is not something the US or Israel favors. These rebels are not going to bring elected government and a free press to Syria. All one has to do is look at how HTS has governed Idlib Governate over the years. Very little there to recommend. Maybe better off economically than the rest of Syria but every bit as oppressive as the Assad regime was.

You are reading this wrong. HTS beating Assad's forces are just one tyrant beating another. Oppression is not going away, just the name of the oppressor changes.

What has happened is that events outside of Syria have gutted the military power of three of the primary allies of the Assad regime, Russia, Hezbollah and Iran. Russia and Hezbollah are fully committed elsewhere and unable to provide manpower and material to Assad. By taking territory in the east the Kurds have effectively blocked the land route through Iraq for Iran to resupply its forces in Syria and its ally Hezbollah. It is also likely that Turkiye is providing arms and logistics support to HTS and SNA hoping to force Assad to the negotiating table, a long stated goal of the Turks.

Woody, the west and others have often supported dictators and tyrants when interests align. Some dictators even installed with the help of western intel. and use of proxies.

I,m wondering who is behind the funding of this new rebel group.
