Well stated by President Tsai Ing-wen.

NEVER surrender to Communist China, no matter what. Fight for your freedom, fight for your democracy, to the last man and woman, and the last square inch of YOUR sovereign land.

The free world, QUAD and AUKUS is shoulder to shoulder with Taiwan, and is standing ready for whatever happens.

I hope so!

A global media ban on Xi would work wonders, he obviously feeds on the attention he gets and we are all feeding the troll.

Let the governments and military deal with him discretely.

The less feedback he gets the better IMO

To the last day, to the last man, to the last breath, never give way to the communist regime.

Taiwan is blessed, at this point in time in it's history to have a leader willing to stand up to the CCP dictatorship.

The two sides have been ruled separately since the end of the Chinese Civil War in 1949.

The civil war is over, and with it any claims the mainland had on Taiwan vanished. Any Idea that China taking over Taiwan by force is anything but an invasion by one nation against another is provably false. Reunification can only be achieved by the consent of both nations.

China continues to threaten an independent nation with war if it does not acquiesce to it's demands of joining China and giving up its self determination to be ruled by the CCP.

International law precludes invasions against sovereign states. China flouts international laws and rules and has no respect for the freedoms of individuals either internal or external.

The two sides have been ruled separately since the end of the Chinese Civil War in 1949.

China should not have ended the civil war before completing it's revolution. It can only blame itself for not doing so. It's failure to take Taiwan during the war is the reason Taiwan has been independent for over 72 years. The world needs to vote in the UN on recognition for Taiwan and warn China any attempt to militarily invade Taiwan will trigger trade embargo's against China and wide ranging sanctions that will remain in force until Taiwan is freed.

Taiwan threatens no one and is enemy to no one. Invading such a peaceful nation is against all the intentions and charters of the UN and must be defended by the world. Failure to do so would show the UN is past it's usefulness and must be replaced with a new world body where NO NATION gets veto and all are equal.

Personally a choice, China CCP or Democratic mmmmm, thinking maybe Democratic but I don’t have a tank about to squash me so with wet pants I’m going for democratic and run away. Sorry but tanks scare me. That’s how ignorant bullies win.

She is right, but alas with the current globalist regime in Washington, she can not count on the US to seriously help Taiwan once the blockade starts. It is good that Japan is stationing missile batteries on its southern island, but that alone will not be enough.

I would volunteer to fight in any way to protect Taiwan. We’ve seen what happens when garbage government like the CCP are left unchecked. Never again. Sign me up in any capacity if it goes down.

he can not count on the US to seriously help Taiwan once the blockade starts

Any active blockade of Taiwan by China would ensure huge sanctions against China and trade would be sent in convoy under protection of UN fleets made up from many nations that trade with Taiwan. Taiwan computer chips are needed by the world for many uses and any attempt by China to stop their trade would end disastrously for China.

Sooner or later, China will claim its territory, one China policy is unstoppable.

How can it claim something was never theirs?

The US only wants to interfere to harm China, they are not interested in Taiwan.

No, the US as an ally and a country that does believe in freedom and the right to exist and every sovereign nation has that absolute right.

If the US is as democratic

We are a Constitutional Republic.

as it boasts, why doesn't also support the independence of Catalonia??, because Spain is not going to take the first place from the US, China surely will, that is why the US wants to do the greatest possible damage to China, like the scared sore losers that they have always been.

What? You are going way off base, but seriously stay focused, the Taiwanese have the absolute to dictate how they want to live their lives. China is just scared that the freedom and rights and lives they love and live is poisonous to Beijing and they don’t want to be infected with a population that longs for freedom and the right to steer their lives in the direction they want without the CCP controlling them, watching them and indoctrinating them.

Hope all those talking tough would be willing to sign up to fight in a war if necessary.

Sam Watters would need more than keyboard warriors and sock puppets at his side.

Many people are signing up by the day

Sam Watters would need more than keyboard warriors and sock puppets at his side.

In other words people should be quiet and not comment? Nope, I think not. China deservedly needs and should be called out and condemned for this action by everyone in the international community.

I’m not talking about many.

Would you sign up to fight if you could?

Taiwan is proof of a well functioning democracy and that scares xi. he has convinced his people that the butchery at Xinjiang, the crimes in Tibet and the total destruction of freedom in Hong Kong was to create a rich vibrant nation.

Taiwan has achieved all that without trying to exterminate other races, suppressing people and that contradicts everything xi has said.

10 ( +15 / -5 )

Agreed. It’s always the ones who have never served their country in uniform they bark the loudest because they have zero skin in the game

And that’s the beauty about democracy, that people are allowed to voice their opinions regardless what other people say or think and that’s something to be treasured. Something that the people m China do not have, but the Taiwanese people do and they should never lose that, whatever it takes.

You said that you followed your father’s advice about never working for the government when you were asked about this before.

I think there was a saying in the armed forces to never have men do something you would not be prepared to do yourself.

Sound reasoning.

conflicts with others of your posts this week when you posted large numbers are leaving the US military?

On one hand I understand. Did I ever say we need to have an only infantry military?

For the time being China will not invade Taiwan. If it does, America won’t go to war with China over it.

I don’t believe that. We will just have to differ on that one.

You posted many negative remarks on the military and never would have signed up.

No, I love our military, just don’t like the current leadership. Ok, so now you can focus on Taiwan again and not on me. Just saying what I think and what I would do and I stand by that 110%

Readers, please focus your comments on the story, not at or about other posters.

There’s a reason for military hierarchy, if you do not follow orders you’ll be locked up. In the olden days you’d be shot.

Bergdahl wasn’t shot…..

No point arguing about someone’s Walter Mitty type fantasies!!!

Whoever or whatever that is…..anyway, the main thing is that Taiwan is a nation that we should stand with and do all we can to ensure the island and its right to freedom and sovereignty.

A declaration of war in the event of a Chinese invasion? A war they’d be prepared to fight in themselves?

If it comes to that.

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

Never trust ANYBODY who uses the phrase "reunification of the country (motherland)."

America will never wage a war against a nuclear-armed country.

China has had 73 years to take Taiwan and risk a war with the United States. China has had 50 years to take the Senkakus from Japan and risk a war with the United States.

China will never wage a war against a nuclear armed country.

2 ( +8 / -6 )

China has the will but no power......... they are not battle-tested and their military hardware cannot be trusted. They would lose big time in an armed conflict with the west. Their pilots are a joke compared to most other countries with strong airforces.
