When will the world grow a pair of balls, and stand up against the bullying CCP regime?

It feels like China is trying to trigger a war wherever it can... what's going on internally?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Taiwan should perform fast dash "exercises" towards the Chinese border, daily. Some high altitude, some low altitude. Mixed styles. Do it for a week, see what happens. Never cross the 12 nm barrier.

China’s right to freedom fly.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Outrageous. The Communists are clearly trying to provoke the democratic, peace-loving, independent nation of Taiwan into firing, so as to start an all out war. Disgusting.

The free world is right behind you, Taiwan. If Communist China keeps this up, the free world will come down on them like a ton of bricks in a war they have NO chance of winning - economically or militarily.

Not all that surprising. China can't send its navy because it doesn't really have one.

Come on - they have 2 rustbucket "Aircraft Carriers"! Russian rubbish.

Meanwhile America is sending planes near China literally daily. Remember the Hainan Island incident? China is playing catch up. After all, buzzing planes encroaching on their area did not work out to well for them. So they play the game of the encroachers now.

@Fighto!

Obviously both of you don't know what are you talking about. Besides these two aircraft carriers the Chinese have dozens of destroyers, frigates and submarines. Isn't it a navy? Just in this year the Chines so far commissioned 9 new corvettes of 056A project. You better read what the U.S.Naval Institute writes about the Chinese naval threat. And besides ships the Chinese have batteries of modern long-range shore anti-ship missiles that can deny access to the area to any U.S. surface ship.

Underestimation of one's enemy is a big folly.

Vanessa, totally agree with you! As a Taiwanese, I really hate these two big guys play games above my head everyday!

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

@asakaze

you could send the Russian navy to help China in its aggression against its neighbors but that isn’t really saying much. At least the Russians & Chinese share a common interest in taking bites and nibbles of their neighbors, so you’ve both got that in common.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

@stormcrow

I can't send Russian ships to help China, I'm from Japan. And Russians never said even a word of support of Chinese actions against its neighbors. You are off the mark here, as usual. I recommend you not to substitute facts with empty propaganda slogans, you'll lose all discussions.

Taiwan sends fighters to challenge air space intrusions by China. Yet China claims that Taiwan is not a country but merely a province of China.

Taiwan needs to amend it's constitution, change it's name to The Republic of Taiwan, and declare itself a sovereign nation and apply for UN membership. Let the Chinese dictatorship get bent out of shape in front of the entire world. The world will support Taiwan.

Really well stated. I am confident the entire free world will support Taiwan over Communist China. Taiwan absolutely should remove the "China" from their official name and MUST be admitted to the UN, ASAP. If Communist China disagree, then the free world can cut all diplomatic ties with them. Simple as that. Everyone wins!

I agree. While the Western world was drunk on the dream of lots of money from China and a gradual development of democracy in mainland China, this was difficult. But now, most countries have woken up to the danger of the CCP. The time has come.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Japan and the USA should give diplomatic recognition to the new Naruwan Taiwan Republic.

If Trump and Abe finds such a move hazardous and doesn't have the balls to face China then they can simply fortify the so-called 'Status Quo' by re-establishing diplomatic ties to 'friend', 'ally' and ' like- minded' democratic ROC-TW.

I'm sure all the democratic countries will copy and paste Japan and America's example and provide a solid and powerful diplomatic shield for the freedom loving Taiwanese people against an invasion by the PLA.

It's long overdue that all those countries that betrayed Taipei in favor of the dictators in Beijing make a complete U-Turn and give justice to Taiwan.

Do you agree PM Abe?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

China's CCP will soon be declared as a Terrorist State Party, by the Trump Administration, who will also formally recognise Taiwan. This is going to make for some interesting watching....

1 ( +1 / -0 )

UN recognition of Taiwan will certainly start a war as China tries to invade and force Taiwanese to join the mainland. That's more re-education camps that will be needed. CCP will certainly try to destroy the industrial base in Taiwan in their opening move, to prevent more cash from outside sales. Taiwan makes lots of electronic things for the world. My routers are all Taiwanese made.

China doesn't allow Taiwan to participate in any international country competitions. Whenever attempts have been made, you'd think that someone killed 1,000 Chinese babies from all the CCP claims.

Does the defense agreement between Taiwan and the US apply if Taiwan starts the war without consultation?

45 sucks in many ways and he's been uneven in most of his Asian policies, but at least he's doing something to confront the CCP.

Alas, no. That is not how the real world works.

The best bet for everybody would be an internal revolt against the CCP in mainland China. If the 3 gorges dam fails and millions drown, maybe something finally happens.

What exactly is "their area"? Does "their area" include Taiwan, the Paracel Islands, the Fiery Reef, the parts of India they claim, Tibet, the Senkaku Islands, and in fact the entire area of the "dotted line" that China has declared unilaterally?

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Obviously China and the US hate each other, I just hope both of them calm down and give me, a Taiwanese, a break . I believe all you guys know one thing , that suppose conflict really happen between them, Taiwanese would be the first ones to suffer!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Like Taiwan, in this article, the free world does not consider America to be bad or almost as bad as China. There are a few malcontents who will always think like you. It doesn't bother me.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

What exactly is "their area"?

The question reads like a teenage boy asking "What exactly is in your face?" Am I in your face now? How about NOW?" What I wrote did not concern China's over-reaching land claims so stop trying to drag them in. I was talking about provocative spy flights just outside of mainland China. The fact that a damaged military propeller plane had to make an emergency landing on totally undisputed Chinese territory tells you just how much they were skirting China's face.

China's over-reaching behavior today can be directly traced back to American military provocation as well as U.S. government over-reach itself setting the pattern. But what can you expect from a pack of overgrown teenage boys? They go out waving their BB guns around thinking all that will happen is that the town will fear them. Then they feign surprise when they get challenged on their stupid behavior by someone equally or better armed.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Malcontents of the Vietnam era sure wrote a lot of anti-war, anti-military, anti-government music that was listened to by a whole bunch more malcontents. Matter of fact, I cannot think of any pro-government, pro-military or pro-war songs selling to anyone at all.

Then again you got a whole bunch of people in America that think "Born in the U.S.A." is pro-military, government and war so what can you say? Its hard to talk truth about Sino-American relations when such people enter the chat and their masters control the government, press and history classes.

What's happening in Ukraine and to the Uighur people and Hong Kong is tragic, and the world should be worried by what they're doing.

Not sure how think you can compare that mixed bag. What is happening in Ukraine is a civil war caused by American meddling. That is bad, what in the world does have to do with the concentration camps and forced sterilization carried out by the CCP against the Uigurs?
