The letter was addressed to "[...] the peace loving Congressmen."

Seriously, if the US continue to fight there, it will become uglier everyday, and if they give up, they just admit giving up to terrorism.

There is no end to this conflict.

Outside forces have tried to subdue Afghanistan for centuries. All have failed to do so.

Reprehensible as it sounds, and as disgusting as the Taliban are, maybe some low level talks should happen.

Margaret Thatcher's govt famously claimed there would be no talking to terrorists whilst secret talks were being held with IRA representatives.

It's a difficult and messy situation, no doubt about it.
