The Taliban welcomed Trump's announcements,

Long passed time for the US to get troops out of foreign countries.

Multiple U.S. officials, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive troop details, said they know of no plan for either new deadline.

With Trump 'in charge' and even more unstable these days because of the meds he's on the US is floundering.

China, Russia, Turkey, Iran etc. are happy Trump's leaving Afghanistan's resources for them to try to take from the Afghani peoples.

Trump tweets, the army jumps?

Trump's precipitous decision to withdraw US forces from Syria would only the benefit Assad regime, Russia, and Iran.

The US simply cannot afford another withdrawal blunder in Afghanistan and the best way to stop Trump's stupidity is to vote him out in the coming US election.

Trump creating more chaos via Twitter is hardly news.

It is more than high time to withdraw from that pointless, illegal, and open-ended mess. Now watch how the neolibs will complain and scream for more limitless warmongering. Same in Syria.

Who got us into that mess?

You clearly don’t get what the “neoliberals” are “complaining and screaming” about. It’s about the half-assed manner in which Trump is going about things. Most of us want out of the ME, but in a methodical draw-down that doesn’t leave things in chaos.

I doubt it’s even logistically possible. The Joint Chiefs will likely drag their feet past Election Day by which time Trump won’t care anymore.

Theyre welcome to that poison chalice. Bring the troops home, Mr President!

I hope so. What the left wants to replace Assad with is an Islamic regime.

Doing things haphazardly with no planning is worse

He's just saying this for the election; he's not even thinking of the logistics

This is not the first time, however, that Trump has upended military policies or troop withdrawal plans with an abrupt tweet, only to be persuaded to adjust his thinking or give the military more time to execute a more deliberate approach.

McKenzie and other military officials have also said that the drawdown must be done responsibly, and that moving faster will make it more difficult to get sensitive and critical American military equipment out of Afghanistan.

“We’re not going to leave anything behind that somebody could use against us in another time and another place. So that’s actually a huge logistics effort and it is continuing now,” McKenzie said last month.
