So, they illegally took control of a country, started persecuting and killing people, and now try to use the suffering they are causing as a gateway to get some form of international recognition and money.

The Afghanistan people are hostages of the taliban.

Not one cent to them unless they allow UN supervised competitive elections and honor basic human rights such as free speech, a free press, religious freedom and equal rights for women. If they refuse, then no aid. Not one penny! The sooner the Taliban government goes broke and collapses the better.
