Shouldn’t’ve voted a convicted criminal into office.

Shouldn’t’ve voted a convicted criminal into office.

These individuals might not have.

Nice to see some people aren’t afraid of the cold. I wonder how long they’ll be able to demonstrate like this. Any bets on that?

What a bunch of children. Democracy means your guy sometimes doesn't make the cut. Whole bunch of people need some practice on not being sore losers.

Shouldn’t’ve voted a convicted criminal into office.

Most American voters didn't vote for Trump.

Trump: 77,303,568 votes (49.8%)

Non-Trump: 79,038,264 votes (50.2%)

The non-Trump voters voted for a few different candidates, not all for Harris.

Before Trump, we may not have liked the winner, but I never worried that he was a convicted felon or a pathological liar. I could believe the winner actually thought he was doing the best he could for the country.

With Trump, I think it isn't about doing the best for America. It is all about "winning" at any cost and not following any laws. Seems he's learned over the decades that deflect, delay, and lie are valid ways to avoid punishment. That's a failure in the American justice system that usually doesn't get played the way Trump plays it. It needs to be fixed by having time limits on allowed delays, since justice delayed is justice denied for both sides.

The democratic process worked. He was the person that most Americans voted for and he won. They seem very childish that things didn’t go their way. Why are they doing this now? They should have tried to get their fellow Americans to see their way before the election.

Japantime, these people are American, exercising their opposition to policies to Trump violations of their constitution rights, they recognize him as the President elect, but they will not how down to him

Japantime

They seem very childish that things didn’t go their way.

Less childish than storming the Capitol when their choice didn't win.

waste of time and energy. they should spend their time on grassroots politics, working for candidates they support, since that affects people’s more.

2 ( +9 / -7 )

The form of democracy in electing the President is illusory. It does not matter how you vote when the candidate is selected for you by an established group and even then, an electoral college is used to determine the final outcome. It is a similar flaw that most small democractic countries endure. A foreign power can highjack the candidate selection process and the single vote counts for nought.

Abortion is seen as a state rights issue in the US - take it up with your state.

No it isn't - it is seen as a constitutional right.

Trump for the record has never 'attacked abortion rights'.

He brags about stacking the court with conservative Catholics to overturn 'Roe v Wade', which took away people's rights.

That's the definition of attacking abortion rights.

Whole bunch of people need some practice on not being sore losers.

Democracy in action includes a whole lot more than just voting.

they should spend their time on grassroots politics, working for candidates they support,

That also.

Shouldn’t’ve voted a convicted criminal into office.

And suffer 4 more years of Democrats their abysmal policies? Naw, the convicted felon would be a better choice.

waste of time and energy. they should spend their time on grassroots politics, working for candidates they support, since that affects people’s

That is exactly what they did.

When showing support for Trump people being arrested but not for opposite demonstration.

Is that real justice?

When showing support for Trump people being arrested but not for opposite demonstration.

The difference is these people aren't instigating an insurrection.

Is that real justice?

Yes.

The difference is these people aren't instigating an insurrection.

“Riot” there was no insurrection.

-7 ( +8 / -15 )

Republicans when their insurrectionists storm the Capitol Building: ………

Republicans when fans of real democracy peacefully protest: “sore losers!” “crybabies!”

who said Americans don’t understand satire?!

The difference is these people aren't instigating an insurrection.

“Riot” there was no insurrection.

Well, Mitch McConnell called it a "failed Insurrection", so that's what I'm going with.

Japantime, these people are American, exercising their opposition to policies to Trump violations of their constitution rights, they recognize him as the President elect, but they will not how down to him

How about reading the signs they are holding? I am pretty sure they didn't vote for either candidate running in 2024.

-3 ( +6 / -9 )

Before Trump, we may not have liked the winner, but I never worried that he was a convicted felon or a pathological liar.

Maybe not you, but many others have wondered why previous presidents were never convicted or that their lies were never being reported.

I could believe the winner actually thought he was doing the best he could for the country.

Really, you actually believed that?!!

-4 ( +8 / -12 )

Well, Mitch McConnell called it a "failed Insurrection",

He can call it a picnic if he wants, it wouldn’t matter. What matters is what the DOJ calls it, since they’re the ones filing and prosecuting the case, they filed it as a riot.

so that's what I'm going with.

You go with that then and I’ll go with that what the law says it is.

The “worst birthday ever” sign in the picture is amusing.

You believe it yourself now, though?

some people in the U.S., particularly the democrats, want things their way. Their are bad losers.

when Biden won I did not see the same kind of sour behavior from these people.

"Act like your house is on fire because it is" reads one sign...He/She/Zee must have taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque and ended up at the wrong rally

I love that the weather is miserable...like their glum struck faces

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

The difference is these people aren't instigating an insurrection..

And where was this insurrection..also do lookup the 50billion lawsuit by the J6 defendants against the justice department.

I guess it shows that peaceful demonstration is the right of and at the heart of any true democracy - emphasis on peaceful.

You certainly don't have to agree with them, but always interesting to see non-violent groups put forward their agendas publicly.

And not afraid of a bit of cold weather - just rugged up.

“Stressed about Trump’s return?

No because I am in Japan where I can use reliable government healthcare and don't have to worry about mass shootings with thanks to Trump. I'm fine....so are Trump people in Japan. But I don't feel like going back. By the way, abortion is legal in Japan all across the country and Trump people in Japan are ok with that. Just can't find any cheap froot loops, that's all

But Trump won.... move on and vote next time

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

The march is just one of several protests, rallies and vigils focused on abortion, rights, immigration rights and the Israel-Hamas war planned in advance of inauguration Monday. Around the country, over 350 similar marches are taking place in every state.

Well, these folks should realize that they've WON on all these issues...

Abortion rights? Trump FLIPPED and betrayed his pro-life supporters when he caved on his "protect the unborn" promise and said he was OK with killing babies until the 15th week...

Immigration? Once more, Trump FLIPPED and threw his MAGA America-firsters under the bus for his immigrant billionaire tech buddies - bring in those DEI Indian and Chinese workers to replace US ones...

Middle East war? Biden solved that before leaving office - meanwhile Trump FLIPPED on his "no war" pledge and is threatening "all actions" against Iran...

Trump - getting more "woke" each day...

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

“Thousands march in Washington days before Trump takes office.”

Question: And out of pity please may I ask why are they marching?

Answer: “The march is just one of several protests, rallies and vigils focused on abortion, rights, immigration rights and the Israel-Hamas war planned in advance of inauguration Monday.”

Concluding remarks: If this grievances were so popular why did their candidate lose the general election. Because Harris run on those issues. The same play book from 2016 is at work here but this time it won’t work. Someone once said fool me once twice never.
