*Tens of thousands of union members and other Italians gathered in Rome to stand up against rising fascism Saturday, a week after right-wing extremists forced their way into the headquarters of Italy's most powerful labor confederation while protesting a COVID-19 certification requirement for workplaces.*

Look at all of those antifa standing up to right wing racism in those photos. Amazing!

100,000 strong, standing against Fascism. Now that’s a show of strength to be proud of.

The people are rising up against authoritarian rules and restrictions on freedom everywhere.

LoL do you see the sign the man in one of the pictures is holding? It says, "Si vax." You want to take a guess at what that means?

But good on you for supporting the fascists who broke into the union's building.

The slogan, Fascism Never Again. Calling for a ban on the far-right Forza Nuova party.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Fascist regimes like the ones in Russia, Hungary are a threat to the world today.

Boycott these regimes and let try world know fascism will not be allowed to raise it’s head again.

“Never again fascism.”

A slogan that unfortunately needs constant repetition as millions clamor for 'strong leaders' showing millions have not learned about the extreme dangers when cults of personality are formed. Ultra-nationalism and far right authoritarianism need to be relegated to the dustbins of history. For some today, a 'strong leader' is one who has his security forces murder unarmed individuals without having a trial, for others a 'strong' leader is one who hides in his bunker and fires off Tweets calling his enemies names. Another example the far right seem to favor is a leader who uses his state's resources, e.g. oil and gas, as a weapon.

Properly functioning democracies are the best protection again extreme right authoritarianism, that is one reason the pro-authoritarian/anti-democracy followers are spending so much time and effort on social media trying to undermine democracies. The anti-democracy hordes seem to prefer a Russian or Chinese form of authoritarianism to 'western democracies.

That's why the Forza Nuova party must be banned. Fascism is all about themselves, they don't want to or like sharing power with anyone else. And that assault last week shows it. They are all about violence. Fascist regimes around the world usually have gained control thru violence and they maintain it in order to enforce their power. From the Blackshirts of Mussolini, the Tonton Macoute of Duvalier, Hitler's SS and Trump's militia scum - it all starts like this. And these fascist trash heaps have behaved just like Trump's thugs this past Jan. 6.

Italy had the first fascist regime and they need to fight against any and all forms of it. And it's good to see Italians resisting this sick social disease.

Burning Bush:

I seriously believe you have no idea of the differences between fascism, democracy, and nihilism- to name just three. Whatever you can use to wrap your anti-vaxx, extreme right-wing libertarianism in, you will (ab)use. Even an anti-fascist, pro-vaxx demonstration by 100,000 people. I’m fairly sure that the dream state you imagine as your personal Utopia would be a nightmare for anyone who had to share it with you - if “share” is the right word to use for it.

Some governments are using covid passes to lock illegal immigrants out of employment and even access to shops, as they may struggle to access vaccinations.

As you can still get covid when you have been vaccinated, but do not then suffer so badly, covid passes are only of value when vaccination levels are low. When they are high, there is no benefit from using them. At that point, the majority can be allowed to catch covid (and may need to, for it to pass through the socially motile community and leave). Non-vaccinated people will either protect themselves (if they need to) or catch it through recklessness or misfortune, regardless of covid passes. At such a point, the numbers will be too low to damage health services.

TL;DR. When vaccination rates are high, covid passes for everyday activities are no longer of medical benefit, but may still be used for political reasons.

The spirit of freedom can not be squashed.

The fascists say Resistance is Futile but we say Persistence is Fertile.

]Government forced vaccinations will fail, the people will win.

Exactly. Never give up, never give in, freedom belongs to us all.

Lmao exactly wrong. The Fascists are the one's breaking into union headquarters to protest their mask/vaccination mandate.

Apparently neither of you bothered to actually read the article, because nothing in there has anything to do with governments mandating vaccinations or masks. And the "protesters" you're supporting here are the ones breaking into private property, which is off because I think you believed in private property rights.

Well, they don’t want government to tell them what to do. I can’t blame them.

No, the larger big government grows, the more power and authoritative power they accumulate and try to control the masses, the more people will resist and that won’t stop until big government listens to the people.

And just WTH do you think fascism is? They're about big government with a 'Big Leader who will guide the nation' and 'make it great'. Oh waydaminnit! I'm referring to Mussolini, Hitler, Tojo, Franco, Peron, Pinochet, Amin, Mobuto, Duvalier and Trump!

Fascist big government never listens to the people. And how can you justify or defend these scummy violent trash? Fascism is about nothing but violence and it has no place in the modern world. And this Covid crisis is a matter of life and death. nobody has the right to be a danger to others. Even the rotten Communist government of China knows this and they are handling the situation better. They know it's a serious situation and they ain't playing stupid games with it. The entire human race needs to handle it, this is no time for stupid political games, stupid lies, stupid misinformation, stupid superstitions or just being stupid. And fascists and others who are resisting the common sense measures being taken to fight and eradicate the coronavirus are terroristic scum and they are stupid and there is no excuse or justification for their crimes.

Right, so why'd they smash their way into a labor union's offices? What right do you have to break into a private building?

It doesn't bode well when you're openly supporting the same behavior actual fascists did 100 years earlier.

Landini, CGIL’s secretary general, has compared the assault on the union headquarters to 1921 attacks by the newly founded Fascist party against union organizers. Fascist leader Benito Mussolini came to power the next year and later brought Italy into World War II as an ally of Nazi Germany.

No, "fascists" is just a label used by AP and those who want to take away people's freedoms.

Lmao nope. They're Fascists. Literal Fascists. Their founders self-describe themselves as Fascists.

Roberto Fiore (born 15 April 1959) is an Italian politician and the leader of the party Forza Nuova. He self-identifies as a fascist

Mussolini's squadristi thugs broke into union buildings, farmer co-ops, etc. Like these Forza Nuova thugs did last week. Act like, talk like, think like, ARE.

Trump didn't kill or leave people behind in Afghanistan or allowed our borders to be open, he didn't wage war to kill his own people, sorry, but Trump is nowhere even close to being in the same category as any of these people-period.

Fascist big government never listens to the people. And how can you justify or defend these scummy violent trash? Fascism is about nothing but violence and it has no place in the modern world. And this Covid crisis is a matter of life and death. nobody has the right to be a danger to others.

True, but the government doesn't have to right to force me to take something that is against my will or religion, or physical condition

Even the rotten Communist government of China knows this and they are handling the situation better.

From what we know and from what we have seen, but we have also seen videos of the Chinese cremating people alive. There is a lot that we don't know about what China is doing. China is letting us know what it thinks we should see and know about, using them as a model for information and source is just ludicrous.

The entire human race needs to handle it, this is no time for stupid political games, stupid lies, stupid misinformation, stupid superstitions or just being stupid.

But we are just supposed to trust the government when they have repeatedly bungled and mismanaged this crisis? Nope, sorry. Not anymore.

And fascists and others who are resisting the common sense measures being taken to fight and eradicate the coronavirus are terroristic scum and they are stupid and there is no excuse or justification for their crimes.

Who determines what common sense is? Working out in the wide-open, training, and wearing a mask is common sense??? No one believes that and the people are revolting and have had enough, thankfully.
