A slogan that unfortunately needs constant repetition as millions clamor for 'strong leaders' showing millions have not learned about the extreme dangers when cults of personality are formed. Ultra-nationalism and far right authoritarianism need to be relegated to the dustbins of history. For some today, a 'strong leader' is one who has his security forces murder unarmed individuals without having a trial, for others a 'strong' leader is one who hides in his bunker and fires off Tweets calling his enemies names. Another example the far right seem to favor is a leader who uses his state's resources, e.g. oil and gas, as a weapon.

Properly functioning democracies are the best protection again extreme right authoritarianism, that is one reason the pro-authoritarian/anti-democracy followers are spending so much time and effort on social media trying to undermine democracies. The anti-democracy hordes seem to prefer a Russian or Chinese form of authoritarianism to 'western democracies.

That's why the Forza Nuova party must be banned. Fascism is all about themselves, they don't want to or like sharing power with anyone else. And that assault last week shows it. They are all about violence. Fascist regimes around the world usually have gained control thru violence and they maintain it in order to enforce their power. From the Blackshirts of Mussolini, the Tonton Macoute of Duvalier, Hitler's SS and Trump's militia scum - it all starts like this. And these fascist trash heaps have behaved just like Trump's thugs this past Jan. 6.

Italy had the first fascist regime and they need to fight against any and all forms of it. And it's good to see Italians resisting this sick social disease.

Some governments are using covid passes to lock illegal immigrants out of employment and even access to shops, as they may struggle to access vaccinations.

As you can still get covid when you have been vaccinated, but do not then suffer so badly, covid passes are only of value when vaccination levels are low. When they are high, there is no benefit from using them. At that point, the majority can be allowed to catch covid (and may need to, for it to pass through the socially motile community and leave). Non-vaccinated people will either protect themselves (if they need to) or catch it through recklessness or misfortune, regardless of covid passes. At such a point, the numbers will be too low to damage health services.

TL;DR. When vaccination rates are high, covid passes for everyday activities are no longer of medical benefit, but may still be used for political reasons.
