Trump has also attempted to mislay blame for the testing troubles on the Obama administration. In 2018, Trump disbanded the White House directorate charged with preparing for and responding to global pandemics.

Alot of blame falls on the idiot currently in the WH. He disbanded the department specifically designed to handle global pandemics. Then he fired the person in charge of watching out for infectious diseases coming out of China. Finally, he was lying and ignoring the problem for months until it got out of control.

Since the idiot finally acknowledged that it was serious, his response has been pathetic. However, he wants to bail out big corporations including his own businesses without helping the common people.

On top of all that he has the nerve to complain that people are angry at him which unfair to his personal feelings.

Trump complains that all he sees in all the TV he watches is 'hatred of me at any cost'

Americans are

Dying, yes, literally

Not to hear Trump speak

At least, the US is better in expanding the capacity of test than Japan where the government and the media have successfully brainwashed the Japanese to believe that the mass testing as done in S. Korea is a stupid thing. But, the real reason is: https://togetter.com/li/1476075 (in Japanese)

It is well summarized with a figure:

Trump last week rated his administration’s response to the crisis as a perfect 10.

They need to get rid of this guy before its too late. This level of stupidity has to end.

A series of missteps at the nation's top public health agency caused a critical shortage of reliable laboratory tests for the coronavirus, hobbling the federal response as the pandemic spread across the country like wildfire, an Associated Press review found.

And we can only wonder how much more swiftly and effectively the response in the US would have been if Trump hadn't abolished the Office of Pandemic Response and had taken the virus seriously rather than ignoring and minimizing it because he was afraid of its impact on his re-election chances.

But we know now what those re-election chances are - zilch. His bungled and botched effort has shown all Americans what an incompetent buffoon he really is. And he just makes it worse each day with his daily comedy press briefings or daily whining...

Put Dr Fauci front and center and go play golf - even Pence is better and 100 times more Presidential than Donnie.

Trump last week rated his administration’s response to the crisis as a perfect 10.

That is not even delusional , it is a sign of advanced senility.

Donny should not be a part of any of the press conferences, he spews lies, mocks people and talks trash, at a time when people are looking for clear answers.

Having him represent this great nation is an embarrassment!!

And yet Japan with many more Chinese visitors to start with and a much more dense population than America is in a better position and still has food on its supermarket shelves.

The world knows it’s from China. Doesn’t change the fact that Trump is ill equipped to lead in times of crisis.

No, the media is insufferable and doing a great disservice to the people with their blind hatred of this president.

Having him represent this great nation is an embarrassment!!

That must be why even with all the negative press, Trump's approval remains steady at around 44-45%.

And we can only wonder how much more swiftly and effectively the response in the US would have been if Trump hadn't abolished the Office of Pandemic Response blah blah blah

And we can only wonder how much more swiftly the virus would have spread if Trump hadn't shut down flights from China early on in spite of opposition to doing that.

Can't speak for the media, but my hatred of this incompetent jackass is not blind but rather driven by what my wide open eyes see him doing and saying everyday. He is driving the US off a cliff right now and all I can do is watch in horror as people like you blithely go over the edge right with him.

Americans are dying due to a nasty new virus no one knew about a few months ago and all you do is bash Trump.

People did know about it. Trump has said he knew about it (but then again, he also says he didn't know about it). Trump dismantled the apparatus that could have helped prevent the spread. He ignored it when it arrived in America. His laziness, selfishness and incompetence have led to needless deaths. You and your fellow Trumplings defence? "The buck doesn't stop with the President, it stops somewhere else, somewhere over there".

Feeble.

To repair Donnie's fragile ego, on Fox News, Lou Dobbs asked Fox viewers to rate tRump's response to the virus on Twitter.

The question was: “How would you grade President Trump’s leadership in the nation’s fight against the Wuhan Chinese virus?”

a) Superb?

b) Great?

c) Or very good?

"President Donald Trump assured Americans early this month that the COVID-19 test developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is “perfect” and that “any Hollywood celebrity or professional athlete who wants a test can get a test.” But more than two months after the first U.S. case of the new disease was confirmed, many people still cannot get tested."

There, fixed quote in bold.

Love how trump seemed to be flying off to golf land as the infection skyrocketed.

Dang straight - who do these media minions think they are, a free press or something? We're Trump supporters, we don't want truth - we want lies and spin...

Having him represent this great nation is an embarrassment!!

That must be why even with all the negative press, Trump's approval remains steady at around 44-45%.

Heck yea! He's the best President that a majority of Americans have disapproved of his entire term since our hero Nixon..

The one time he listened to Dr Fauci - he's failed to listen to him since. So that virus is contained and you can get testing anytime, right?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

“There were many, many opportunities not to end up where we are,” Dr. Ashish K. Jha, the director of the Global Health Institute at Harvard, told the AP. “Basically, they took this as business as usual. ... And that’s because the messaging from the White House was ‘this is not a big deal, this is no worse than the flu.’ So that message basically created no sense of urgency within the FDA or the CDC to fix it.”

And there you go, all you need to know why this whole coronavirus thing in the US was FUBAR. The blind trump supporters will divert and whitewash history, but the fact remains he downplayed this emerging pandemic.

'Honourable' mention also goes to the arrogant folks at the CDC. Instead of using WHO testing guidelines and testing kit methods, which many other nations adopted including South Korea to ramp up their dramatic testing protocol, the CDC's ego got the better of itself and decided they can develop their own more effective testing methods. The end result? CDC test kits that didn't even work properly and couldn't identify the coronavirus strain.

Remember my fellow Americans, VOTE this November.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

@SJ insecurity much? Lol

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

The Department of Health and Human Services, which includes the CDC, has begun an internal review to assess its own mistakes. But outside observers and federal health officials have pointed to four primary issues that together hampered the national response — the early decision not to use the test adopted by the World Health Organization, flaws with the more complex test developed by the CDC, government guidelines restricting who could be tested and delays in engaging the private sector to ramp up testing capacity.

I find the article questionable, and biased, because the authors, Michael Biesecker, Mike Stobbe, and Matthew Perrone, chose not to include China's failure to alert the entire world that a new, contagious, and very dangerous virus had just emanated from Wuhan, China in their laundry list of "four primary issues that together hampered the national response" list.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

@zichi Trump reacted pretty quickly by banning flights from China, quicker than Abe actually. It was the European side that he misjudged (until it's too late)

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Sneezy - Americans are dying due to the Trump administration's negligence and incompetence and this is what you care about.

This is that Democrat Party hoax that President Trump warned the voters about.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

,@arrestpaulchose not to include China's failure to alert the entire world

I agree that China sat on the info too long. But had Trump, his admin and his Republicans heeded US intelligence agencies earlier, the US would not be so desperately trying to play catchup. And then there's Trump and the R's axing health programs, slowing the response further. And then there's Trump and his media downplaying the severity of the virus. Blame China, but Trump's the leader of the US. This monster grew on his watch; and is still growing. I don't watch Trump's media: are they still parroting him, saying it all be over in a couple weeks?

U.S. intelligence agencies were issuing ominous, classified warnings in January and February about the global danger posed by the coronavirus while President Trump and lawmakers played down the threat and failed to take action that might have slowed the spread of the pathogen, according to U.S. officials familiar with spy agency reporting.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/us-intelligence-reports-from-january-and-february-warned-about-a-likely-pandemic/ar-BB11udi8

2 ( +2 / -0 )

But I thought Dr. Trump knew what he was doing by wasting a month's time and telling everybody that everything is just great in dealing with the Coronavirus. Was it all just fake info?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

I find the article questionable, and biased, because the authors, Michael Biesecker, Mike Stobbe, and Matthew Perrone, chose not to include China's failure to alert the entire world that a new, contagious, and very dangerous virus had just emanated from Wuhan, China in their laundry list of "four primary issues that together hampered the national response" list.

So you are saying that when the Department of Health and Human Services does an internal review to determine the mistakes it made and how these could be improved upon, it should focus more on stuff China did rather than stuff it has any control of or ability to improve whatsoever?

Total winning strategy for improving governance there.

MAGA!

(what does the “G” stand for?)

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

If Trump hadn't gutted the CDC, and eliminated the pandemic response unit, the American response could have been much better.

More than 100 people died of this in America today. How many per day in two weeks?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

This is that Democrat Party hoax that President Trump warned the voters about.

Oh! So no-one has died and there is no pandemic and the US economy isn't on the verge of collapse! My bad.

wasn't a lot of their jobs, as they originally had an Office of Pandemic Response and were never budgeted to replace it. You reap what you sow.

Lock USA up!

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Even if the CDC had been fully funded and a team of experts had urged the US to completely shut its borders in January, would Trump have listened? Would any US President in an election year have listened? Presidents of all parties are beholden to big business doners and big business won't accept a shutdown until it's too late. If you add to that the public's suspicion of authoritarian measures, America is probably in the worst position of any country to stop this sort of global pandemic from spreading early on.

Just watch the Fox News hosts flip and flop all over the place...so much for "fair and balanced"....

And while they were telling their viewers the virus was just the flu, they were getting checked before entering their building...

Fox scammed its viewers just like Trump scams his supporters...

Trump is useless in this battle. Just ignore him.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

What Donny is doing, day after day, from that podium is downright criminal.

He is giving people false hope, making them careless and letting people buy medicine which is useless to them. People do not care how the economy, job market was 2 month ago, they do not care about what past administrations did or did not do.

They care about paying rent, feeding themselves ,their families and staying alive.

Is that so difficult to understand!!!!!!!!

I don't watch Trump's media: are they still parroting him, saying it all be over in a couple weeks?

I am curious, what are Trumps media? The mainstream media that I see are solidly on the Trump bashing side, with possible exception Fox, which is one lonely holdout.

What Donny is doing, day after day, from that podium is downright criminal.

He is giving people false hope, making them careless and letting people buy medicine which is useless to them.

I am curious, what exactly is criminal about being optimistic? Would you prefer the president tells gloom and doom every day? And what useless medicine is letting people buy everyday? Can you be specific? I didnt even know the president was in charge of letting people buy medicine, I thought as long as it is over the counter, everybody can do that?

Curious.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Trump is useless in this battle.

Agreed. He’s generally pretty useless.

Just ignore him.

As some of his supporters urge us to do.

You know what false optimism is called, a lie!!

Would you prefer the president tells gloom and doom every day?

How about telling the truth, he is talking to adults, not just his intellectually challenged supporters!!

 Can you be specific?

How about doing some reading? Chloroquine , shortage???

Curiosity and ignorance are different , one is dangerous the other not!!!
