It seems like the Republicans are going to go out of their way to find ways to exacerbate the pandemic in the US. We have an autistic ADHD little boy in a special education program. We will have to make distance learning work for him somehow. We are not crying to all and sundry about it. The alternative of him bringing it home to us is far scarier than anything we might suffer in terms of distance learning. If we are both in an ICU from something he brought home from school we are not doing him or ourselves any good. People need to think three or four moves in advance and not just focus on the next move in this game. It's a pandemic. There are no good choices, just less bad ones. Be adult about this please.

Oh my...

Under-18s have accounted for just two percent of hospitalized COVID-19 cases and less than 0.1 percent of all deaths in the United States, according to statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

A total of 45 children died from the coronavirus in the United States between February 1 and August 1—compared to 105 who died from seasonal flu—out of a total of 13,000 children who died of all of causes over the period.

When they do catch the virus, children are far less likely than adults to fall seriously ill.

Polls show Biden in a dead heat with President Donald Trump in Texas,

That alone guarantees a Trump win. And this is before any debates. Biden is toast in Texas.

long a Republican stronghold but where the Democratic Party made significant gains in the 2018 midterm election

Yeah, a lot of people from California have moved to Texas, but they still have that California mindset. I personally know someone in Texas who had someone move right next door to her. She said her new neighbor is nuts and a Democrat.

But far more likely to transmit it.

45 deaths is 45 too many and it is callous to suggest otherwise.

As the above figures show children are not immune to the disease, they can become carriers, infect others including those at high risk.

Putting children at risk, sending them to potential Petri dishes of virus just to ensure your master wins an election!!!!!

No words to describe it!!!

Alabama claims anyone 24 and under as a "child". Other states have varying ages.

Ok, so we can't keep safe, so then why do we need to wear masks again and Biden (strange repeated what Trump has been saying for awhile) said, we should make wearing masks mandatory, if that's the case, kids can then go back, so there shouldn't be any problems. In Japan, kids are all back in school, most countries for that matter, but Biden also said that masks should be worn for the next 3 months at least...huh? So Biden was basically saying, we should wear masks until after the election, so if he wins, we can STOP wearing them, but if he loses, we have to continue wearing them. These people are so full of crap, No wonder his staff didn't want Biden to take any questions from the media because I'm sure he would have been called out on that and wouldn't have any way to defend that statement.
