Thoughts & prayers for the hostages and first responders.

Texas again. The land of free gun laws.

Forget the guns, guns, and flash grenades are what saved the people, so what about the perpetrator, care to comment on him?

An attack against Jews raises a red flag. Happy it ended peacefully.

I agree.

All the hostages are out, alive and safe!

That's good. Aafia Siddiqui is still in the can too, gonna serve all of those 86 years' time too.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said he was monitoring the situation closely. “We pray for the safety of the hostages and rescuers,” he wrote on Twitter.

CAIR, the nation’s largest Muslim advocacy group, condemned the attack Saturday afternoon.

“This latest antisemitic attack at a house of worship is an unacceptable act of evil,” CAIR National Deputy Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell said in a statement. “We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community, and we pray that law enforcement authorities are able to swiftly and safely free the hostages. No cause can justify or excuse this crime.”

Israel has a new and better PM now; Nutty Yahoo is out. The Muslim community condemns this antisemitic act. Islam and Judaism have the same God and more in common than differences. The standoff ended with all four hostages alive, well and safe. Nobody is talking any Islamophobic trash (yet). And Pres. Biden has been getting updates and he is no antisemite either. This is no repeat of that Pittsburgh synagogue incident.

It all looks good and I'm GLAD things have been resolved without anyone getting killed. Hopefully the hate that has plagued America for so long may subside. We can hope.

Wrong on several counts: It occurred at a house of worship, what should be a safe haven, not on occupying forces or a government facility. The state where it occurred and their guns laws are immaterial to why it happened and why such an institution was chosen. The act has been condemned by other institutions.

Don’t worry the FBI already announced that this wasn’t a hate crime, he was upset about “something else” unrelated to the Jewish people or community.

Show a little respect - their negotiators got everyone out safe - and this past week was Law Enforcement Appreciation Day...

Put your anti-police views aside for once...

The attacker is now being reported in the media as “a British man”.

Yes, almost certainly a man with a British passport.

No actually “a British man”

Washington Post-

“U.K. aware of ‘death of a British man in Texas’ after synagogue standoff ends, hostages freed”

Yes, British is a nationality not an ethnicity!

Do you understand the difference?

Yes, British is a nationality not an ethnicity!

So?

A foreign citizen with most likely racial and religious reasons for this terrorist attack will nary be mentioned in the politically left media.

Just checked and this story is buried under a pile of garbage in politically left 'news' sites.

Some refuse to mention the british terrorist's name.

The suspect who held a rabbi and his congregants hostage at a Texas synagogue — where he demanded that US authorities release a convicted terrorist — was identified Sunday as a 44-year-old British citizen, according to federal authorities.

Hostage-taker Malik Faisal Akram was shot dead following the lengthy standoff in Colleyville on Saturday, the FBI said.

Where are you checking? I'm seeing broad coverage here in the UK.

Apparently he was from Blackburn, Lancashire. This is what I read in one news source:

The dead man's brother Gulbar confirmed his death in a statement carried by Blackburn Muslim Community.

Gulbar said he had liaised "with Faisal, the negotiators, FBI etc" during the siege but "there was nothing we could have said to him or done that would have convinced him to surrender".

"We would like to say that we as a family do not condone any of his actions and would like to sincerely apologize wholeheartedly to all the victims involved in the unfortunate incident," he added.

"We would also like to add that any attack on any human being be it a Jew, Christian or Muslim etc is wrong and should always be condemned."
