Texas is wrong on this. They probably need another 6 weeks of vaccinations to get sufficient protections.
Hopefully, the medical people there are following the latest COVID early treatment techniques and medications.
In a horse racetrack with 200 positive COVID tests, the track doctor offered fluvoxamine to people with COVID.
This drug has been FDA approved since 1994 for OCD treatment and has minor side-effects for less than 10%.
A large, 3-phase, clinical trial: https://stopcovidtrial.wustl.edu/ Could be helpful for people who can't or aren't yet vaccinated. The drug appears to reduce symptoms only so COVID is still there and the body has to fight it. Self-quarantine is required.

The deep freeze didn't kill 'em, so Abbott's trying biological warfare.

That’s one dumb governor they have in the lone star state.

Life goes on, herd immunity will prevail.
Freedom!

“Freedom!”
I’m all for freedom too, but not when it means freedom to spread a nasty virus.

Yes indeed, welcome to Texas ya'all....
Where no man would let anyone insult his Daddy or his wife...
Where electricity is for sissies and water is just another beverage...
Where we stare the virus down - "Masks? We don't need no stinkin' masks"...
Because in Texas, we value freedom - freedom to get sick and die...
Join us tomorrow when we burn our life vests and tear down our tornado sirens...

Texas.
They walk tall in Texas. Too tall, as they seem to have their head in the clouds.
This is too soon.
It's not freedom. It's freedumb.

That would be the tall small of freedom.
For Democrats, it sure is.
Well, so far not according to people moving there or to the people that can safely and freely live their lives again without big government intrusion, the way the founding fathers wanted it.
Toasted Heretic
Unlike the far right hyper partisans, am not really concerned over the Democrats. It's the people of Texas I worry for.
Freely live their lives in order to spread the virus?
Why do conservatives hate the American people so much?

The highly educated, literate, secular founding fathers would bury their heads in their hands if they could see Louis Gohmert.
Any decent person buries their head in their hands when they see Flyin Ted.

I think more they would shriek with her if they could see Pelosi and Schumer and definitely jump off a cliff if they had to deal with AOC.
bass4funk
They’ll be fine, thanks. Keep getting messages from my family BBQs are coooming.
if they hated America so much, they would make sure to keep the people on lockdown and make sure kids can ever go back in school

Bass, don’t predict things will be okay. This is personal to me. Given your track record with predictions, I worry even more for my old friends in Texas.
bass4funk
Things will be ok for sure at this point.
Me as well.
Given the fact that I was right in 2011, 2014 and 2016 things should be going quite smoothly now

Neither you or I speak for all Texans.
Don't promise stuff you can't possibly deliver. That's the work of Satan.
bass4funk
nope, but for the majority definitely I do
I don’t, but so far Texas and Florida are doing just fine, all the more reason why people are moving there, so the proof is in the pudding.

And it's usually conservatives/republicans who suffer most from conservative/republican policies.
lincolnman
Hmmmm.... That sure sounds a lot like someone else who said just one year ago; "We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China. We have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.”
And look how true that was...
