"Despite the latest political upheaval, life has continued largely as normal in most of the country, with tourists still relaxing at beach resorts and strolling through Buddhist temples in Bangkok and elsewhere. "

Good grief.

Chanting and holding signs saying "Soldier get out" and "No Coup."

The coup sounds good at first because this Prayuth promised to restore order after seven months of demonstrations. However, instead of calling for a new election, cracking down on vote-buyers, and patrolling the area to prevent any groups from disrupting the election, they seized power, torn down the Constitutional Law, using weapons of wars, creating chaos at the Red-shirt protesting site, and threatening any other people who are against them. With him is the new Constitutional Law, this is not about restoring orders. This is an abuse of power.

The Thai Law is powerless against the military because they have replaced it with a new one. The only way to take down Prayuth and his corrupted military is to use the Foreign Law called "Sanction" either from U.S or E.U. They might not have the power to take down the corrupted Thai Military, but they should have the power to weaken him and it should be enough to force him to call for an election, a new election without vote-buyers or anyone who's going to disrupt the election.

This is not going to turn out well --

ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY.
