Beats me too. Maybe the dependence on Middle Eastern oil has something to do with it`? What totally amazes me is how the entire mainstream media landscape plays along with it.

Indeed, although it's not just the media who are downplaying Islamic terrorism: the Thai govt and police had also been angrily (and pathetically) denying the Islamic role.... until just recently.

Reminds me right after of the mass murders of Jewish children in Toulouse, France, when Sarkosy and the French police insisted it was "neo-Nazis." LOL.
