Shame. Lots of bad things happening in Thailand at present.

Phuket is not a great place to be this time of year. The beaches are usually off-limits due to rip tides and high waves. These packed boats should not be running during the monsoon season.

Sailing to Phi Phi Island once from Phuket, I inquired why there were no life jackets under the seats.I was told that in case of emergency that they would be provided.
My feeling is that these Chinese tourists weren’t provided with them either...

Another boat sailing in the same area also capsized on Thursday but all 35 tourists, five crew and a guide on board were rescued, the Water Safety Department of the Harbour Department said.
Death occur often in the seas off Phuket friends of mine scuba instructors 3 years there told me harrowing stories not publicized of tourist divers who never surfaced.
