Shame on China

In the past, 30,000 deaths due to flu was quite normal, and nobody batted an eyelid or took any special precautionary measures. We need to accept Covid as a fact of life and just stop worrying about it.

Agree with you.

Time has changed and now death is not accepted as in the past due to the medical progress. Like it was ok to loose thousands in wars. Not anymore.

Take some basic precautionary measures

England **loosens restrictions as daily virus cases top 50,000.**

Everyone will have their own view which country is right. I favour the English model, since the number of cases is irrelevant, given that the vaccines have broken the link between infection and death. We need to stop acting like hysterical cowards and get back to normal life.

seek to impose limits on exports of the locally produced AstraZeneca vaccine because the country doesn’t have enough for its own needs.

Sounds like something like the europe union was trying todo.

they chose the Chinese vaccine

Not good, as China has admitted it is only 50% effective.

The article says it does not have enough of the localy produced AstraZeneca for its own needs. So is it using the chinese one as anon99999 says ?

Thailand should be peaking soon. Then gradually go back down, as what happened in India. They all go down eventually and settle into the grey zone: another country with ongoing virus that has to live with it. Every country is going to be the same - that is, just accepting that it’ll be there, but that they have to get back to life as normal. More and more countries will do so. Just as many of us knew they eventually would.

It was only a matter time.

Thailand has a lot in common with Japan. Behind in vaccinations and one of those countries that's main philosophy is to fight the virus by keeping official numbers low with minimal testing (and counting on the asymptomatic and those with mild symptoms just to get better). Unfortunately, like for Japan, it is not working so well with the Delta virus. They also follow the stopping alcohol is the cure for stopping the virus philosophy and have their own set of nonsensical , conflicting rules.

Unlike Japan though, they chose the Chinese vaccine and also they are not as adverse as Japan to mandating lockdown and other measures if they feel it suits them.
