Kerry declined to single out China by name as one reason why Glasgow might not be as big a success as it could have been

Why? Oh....got it.

assessment in a new report that Kerry’s wife is the beneficiary of a trust that has invested more than $1 million in an investment fund that itself invests in a Chinese technology company that was blacklisted in 2019 for facilitating the Chinese communist regime’s atrocities against Uyghur Muslims. That campaign of repression, which U.S. officials have deemed a genocide, intersects with Kerry’s climate work due to China’s exploitation of Uyghur labor to produce solar panels relevant to any major initiative to reduce carbon emissions.

lead by example might be a good idea!

so he's not expecting COP 26 to be any more successful than the previous 25.... and Kyoto.... and Paris? quelle surprise!

Why? I don't get it!

Missing targets is the name of the game for this administration.

Scientists warn the damage is irreversible and headed to catastrophic levels absent major cuts in emissions.

If mankind wipes itself out then that’s no loss to the planet.

We are not the only life on earth;something else will step up

The problem is that fantasists like Mr. Kerry have come to believe the so-called targets were agreed in a global consensus. If it was a binding agreement, what was the enforcement mechanism? If it was not a binding agreement, then nation states will act in their own interest as they see fit.

At some point most people in the developed world (other than elites like Mr. Kerry and the Heinz family) will be shivering in their winters with unaffordable and unreliable energy sources while China will be a fully-powered technological marvel with energy to spare. President Xi cares nothing for Western dreams, and will never keep any agreements his country may happen to ink.

"If mankind wipes itself out then that’s no loss to the planet."

The planet has no sentinance to know we are here.

Perhaps you hate humanity but I for one love humanity and want humanity to prosper and take care of nature. They are not mutually exclusive.

“By the time Glasgow's over, we're going to know who is doing their fair share, and who isn't," he said.

What a privileged, self-deluded hypocrite. John Kerry wants everyone but himself to do “their fair share” to reduce CO2 emissions. Why would anyone whose carbon footprint is a tiny fraction of Kerry’s feel compelled to listen to his sermons demanding sacrifice? He can’t possibly believe the sky is falling message that he spreads to his flock of true believers. He’s like the pastor of a church who seduces the wives of the deacons.

The climate talks will absolutely miss their targets. Developing nations aren’t going to be suckered into poverty. The US, Europe, and Japan could cut their emissions to zero today and it will have no effect on the developing worlds need for cheap, reliable energy to move their people out of poverty.

Entire generations with money, their own homes, and influence, who won't lift a dime to save the planet. While we toil away in Mcjobs and rentals and psychotic landlords. So y'don't say there Kerry. I'm happy you're concerned but it's literally decades too late. And for a country to care when it can't even have universal healthcare beggers belief
