Good decision, the right decision made by the right people.

Israel's arrogance means that they will complain and reject the decision of course, but this is the world officially putting them on notice, as it should, as it needs to.

Too late of course, for the 25,000 people they have decided to slaughter as retribution on their blood crazed revenge killing spree.

Palestinians need to be fully protected and insulated from Israel by a 2 State solution. It's the only fair, logical and safe solution for all.

These last couple of months have fully illustrated that fact to the world, and it's irresponsible to ignore it.

Disappointing that a ceasefire is not part of the provisional measures outlined by the ruling. Netanyahu and his ultranationalist coalition are already crying anti-semitism.

The measures have little teeth but they do show how isolated Israel is becoming. The measures were overwhelmingly supported by the 17 ICJ judges. Only Uganda's judge Sebutinde opposed all 5 motions.

Even Israel's own appointed ad hoc judge former PM and general Ehud Barak supported 2 of the measures. Specifically provision 3, which calls for the prevention and punishment of genocidal incitement and provision 4 which calls for urgent aid and services for the people of Gaza.

Poor Arabs and Jews , and the KILLINGS shall continue.

Israel, Hamas and their Backers will someday face the ultimate court with only one Judge for taking the lives of so many INNOCENT people, when that day comes like so many others before them there will be NO Lawyers, NO mercy, and UN to save them only. They will face the same Pain and Suffering they have inflected on their victims.

I say this because history has shown us many times that when someone ends the life of an innocent person or animal right there and then his or her faith are sealed.

That UN ruling even not really satisfying for people who oppose genocides but it can drag occupier allies US and UK to be complicit.

There were 30,000 Hamas fighters. 9,000 have been killed.

This month, in Columbia University during anti genocide protest there was an attack being carried using chemical weapon by other students who used to be member of IDF. Not so many news picked up, not even government official or even senate member. Just imagine if what happened is really the opposite, many will jump to their megaphone while screaming anti-Semitism is taking place.

Yes, that's right Capuchin. Cycle of violence's just won't stop there. Indiscriminate killings already left many children orphaned.

...the court offered little other comfort to Israeli leaders in a genocide case brought by South Africa.

And less comfort to the tens of thousands of Palestinians who are going to die painful deaths while the court ponders over further refinements of its judgment.

“The court is acutely aware of the extent of the human tragedy that is unfolding in the region and is deeply concerned about the continuing loss of life and human suffering,” court President Joan E. Donoghue said. This anodyne wording spoken by the American court President could almost have come from the mouth of John Kirby or from the script of any White House spokesperson; "human tragedy" may fit a Shakespeare play, but does not even begin to convey the obscene slaughter and horrific suffering the Palestinians must bear every day and, tomorrow and tomorrow.

Too late of course, for the 25,000 people they have decided to slaughter as retribution on their blood crazed revenge killing spree.

And even too little too late for another 25,000 who will die as a direct or indirect result of the genocidal Israeli culling of human lives. Oh, and btw, whatever happened to the right recognized by international law (and common sense) of an occupied people to rise up and resist their occupiers by any means necessary?

ICJ https://www.icj-cij.org/home is under UN, as we know everything that involved UN will take times and at the end it just not that satisfying. Want stronger one? should bring to International Criminal Court https://www.icc-cpi.int

Israel often boycotts international tribunals and U.N. investigations, saying they are unfair and biased. But this time, it took the rare step of sending a high-level legal team — a sign of how seriously it regards the case.

We keep being told Israel is some beacon of "democracy" in the middle East but what sort of "beacon" avoids nearly every UN committee, tribunal, investigation it doesn't like?

A true "democracy" should be able to stand up and at least try and defend it's position!

All Israel ever does is claim "everyone else" in the world is wrong only they are right!

We know by history that those accusing everyone else and claiming to be the victim when everyone else says they are the perpetrators are usually the one in the wrong.

Israel has lost the right to keep using the Holocaust as it's excuse to kill innocent people!

More pressure from UN to stop the Gaza Genocide is welcomes. Far better than this madness continuing.

Escalation across Mid East and world, especially risk of terrorism rapidly growing. Hundreds of terrorists on FBI's terror watch list identified with US border patrol cameras have entered US, just since Oct 7th, 2023.

We all see Red Sea missile madness, Persian Gulf not that hard to imagine as next escalatory step with far greater impact on energy supplies, pricing and inflation.

So the court said what has been obvious all the time except to Hamas sympathizers---Israel is not committing genocide and the self-defense measures Israel is taking in its land in Gaza is in compliance with international law.

So the court said what has been obvious all the time except to Hamas sympathizers

It said nothing of the sort unless one cannot read!

---Israel is not committing genocide and the self-defense measures Israel is taking in its land in Gaza is in compliance with international law.

No it isn't and this week even the USA told Israel to stop clearing the "buffer zone" it was creating in Gaza to supposedly "protect an illegal kabuts!

Israel is under dozens of UN resolutions to stop taking land, Israel's annexation of east Jerusalem and the Golan Heights have both been declared illegal by the UN even the USA has not recognized and opposes both annexations!

Could you please stop with the fake stuff easily proven to be false!

Thats not what they said at all. And that wasnt even what they were deliberating at this stage.

They were deciding whether or not it was plausible that Israel had intent to commit to genocide. They ruled that it is plausible, and Israel has to come back in a months time and prove they have no commited any of the potentially genicidal acts outlined by the court.

If it wasnt plausible the case would have been over there and then.

Its a shame that the court didnt call for an immediate ceasefire, but in order to not commit any of these potentially genocidal acts, Israel needs to watch itself.

Yes it is.

They were deciding whether or not it was plausible that Israel had intent to commit to genocide.

And no intent was found.

Its a shame that the court didnt call for an immediate ceasefire,

Even this court is not that corrupt.

The court recognizes Israel's right to eliminate Hamas, which committed genocidal acts against Israel.

The war continues until Israel gets all the terrorists and their supporters.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

The court also called on Hamas to release the hostages who are still in captivity.

These seems kind of an important decision by the court.

The Israeli military claims at least 9,000 of the more than 26,000 dead were Hamas militants.

A high number of those Hamas terrorists killed are 16-17 years old.

Well if that is the case, than Netanyahu will not stop until they are close to that 30K mark..

There needs to be an independent inquiry into the 1200 who died on Nov 6.

How many were killed by panicking Israeli defenders. Many at the music festival are know to have been shot in error. Also stories of houses containing both Hamas members and civilians being hit with tank fire fully aware that Israelis were inside
