The demonstrators were upset at the Conservative government’s Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill, which is currently going through parliament. Under the terms of the bill, which covers England and Wales, police will be able to ban or shut down protests.

If the UK does enact this law then they would also need to understand they would forfeit the right to comment on China, Myanmar, or other countries who do not allow protests or demonstrations.

It makes one wonder what else is hidden in that bill.

Enforcing lockdown for almost a year and bringing in draconian laws and this is what you create

Their is a scary agenda behind all this, I’m not privy to the reason but it’s certainly not for the benefit if the general public

With Brexit came the ominous Tory promise (or threat) to "take back control". The people of the UK must see to it that they get the control not a right-wing authoritarian regime using the fuzz as its cat's paw to curtail freedoms essential to a working democracy. KILL THE BILL!

Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill 2021: protest powers factsheet Updated 10 March 2021…

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/police-crime-sentencing-and-courts-bill-2021-factsheets/police-crime-sentencing-and-courts-bill-2021-protest-powers-factsheet

It is the element of interpretation of public nuisance. In effect protesting a tad loudly

Restate the common law offence of public nuisance in statute

The Bill will implement a recommendation by the Law Commission to introduce a statutory offence of public nuisance, and repeal the existing common law offence. This will provide clarity to the police and potential offenders, giving clear notice of what conduct is forbidden.

Then this government have the nerve to state ......

4.1 Will these measures undermine freedom of expression?

No, freedom of expression is a cornerstone of British democracy. The majority of protests in the England and Wales are lawful and will be unaffected by these changes.

These measures will balance the rights of protesters with the rights of others to go about their business unhindered. They will achieve this by enabling the police to better manage highly disruptive protests.

Clap trap and cobblers!!!!!!!!!!

A protest by definition/design is supposed to disruptive. Or what in heavens name is the point?

Russian President, Vladimir Putin must be taking notes, having a right giggle, if not laughing out loud.

Please do tell us all just what is the tyrants dream, and what exactly is their scary agenda.

I know "they" want to take away our freedoms.... But what is the giant end goal?

The conspiracy theorists never tell us what the final play is.

Every government's dream come true, and Covid is bringing the tyrant's dream closer to fruition.

Well said, on this occasion.

Even a stopped clock is correct twice a day.
