"My job as chief diplomat is to ensure that the North Koreans know, we keep our channels open," Tillerson told the CBS news show "60 Minutes.

Right up until Trump decides to undermine you in a tweet. This administrations reeks so strongly of dysfunction and incompetence that I can smell it here in Japan.

MAGMA indeed.

Good on him to reaffirm that no talks will even be considered until the North puts their entire nuke program on the table, as much as many useful idiots would like NK to not only keep their nukes, but to remove sanctions too.

Also, good on Moon for pouring cold water on this stupid summit he foolishly accepted. I suspect that farce won’t even happen now. There is yet hope for him it seems.

I'm afraid it is to late in the day to convince N.K. to abandon their nuclear program. We are dealing with a country that has already developed a thermonuclear device. Only issue is miniaturization and a delivery vehicle... N.K. appears to be well on its way on overcoming those two issues. Why would they give up on the program when it is probably the best leverage they've enjoyed in their entire history. It appears Trump spent to much time sitting on his duff tossing insults at good ole Kimie instead of trying to curb N.K.'s program either diplomatically, economically or militarily. Perhaps if Trump learned to shut his damn mouth once in a while and do some actual work he might get something done.

Trump's got golf games to play and global businesses to look after. Plus by ratcheting up tensions throughout the world he and his fellow GOP pals can justify even more spending to support their backers in the US war industries.

Rex Tillarson is nothing difference from his predecessors former U.S. Secretary of State in the past. N. Korean Government will not move an inch by diplomatic solution. Now, N. Korea is in upper hand condition and won't talk to US until its nuclear weapons program was finished. The US, Japan and S. Korea to live with Nuclear armed N. Korea whether they don't like it or like it. I believe, it's too late to for military solution. They should has done 10 or 20 years ago.

If Mr. Donald Trump was elected as Presidentm 10 years ago and Ms. Condoleezza Rice was Secretary of State in President Trump Government and then the N. Korea Government will never have nuclear weapons and ICBM.

Former US Presidents, Japan, S. Korea and the US have wasted times and money on N. Korea with expecting N. Korean Government will change but wasted.

Now the military option is too late and very dangerous for peoples of Japan and S. Korea.
