More gaslighting from Donny. You'd think he has more important things to do than mouth off in twitter like an angry five year old.

Trumpophiles find it refreshing to have an ignorant indicidual that engages in petty redneck guess on twitter as president. Okay. My issue is that Donny spends too much time doing this when there are adult issues that need his attention.

Dems always play the race card when they are unable to win with facts. Shame!"

Below is one definition of 'race card', a term used these days primarily by the alt right. In the case of Trump he's pandering to his white nationalist base to gain further advantage with the demographic that helped elect him

To attempt to gain advantage in an election by pandering to the electorate's racism. Also, more recently, to attempt to gain advantage by drawing attention to one's race. https://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/play-the-race-card.html

Turns out that Bernie Sanders is, by Democrat standards, a racist. He thinks Baltimore is a Third World country.

https://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2019/jul/28/bernie-sanders-compared-baltimore-third-world-coun/

How will Dems explain away this hypocrisy?

-12 ( +6 / -18 )

Turns out that Bernie Sanders is, by Democrat standards, a racist. He thinks Baltimore is a Third World country.

Only to dishonest conservatives that aren't bothering to look at the actual words Sanders used and comparing them to the words Donny employs.

Thanks for the insightful comment.

9 ( +16 / -7 )

@wolfpack How will Dems explain away this hypocrisy?

By putting Sander's quote in context, by looking at Sander's history of supporting people of color, by looking at Sander's history of believing all Americans should have equal opportunities, and then by contrasting what Sanders said with what Trump's said and then looking at Trump's history. And present.

However, I know in the binary world of political extremists, which is the world of only black or white, that wouldn't work.

It's pretty easy to cherry pick from quotes to make someone look good or bad. That's one reason political extremists do that, especially when they to appeal to the 35% of the population unable or unwilling to reason for themselves.

For a sitting U.S. president to trash talk one of his own U.S. cities like that. It's just disgraceful. Besides, Baltimore isn't all bad as I'm sure anybody reading this from there would agree.

Anyway, this really is an US against THEM (as in your fellow citizens) mental obsession with Donny-boy, which would be forgivable with people holding most kinds of jobs but not when you're the sitting president.

6 ( +13 / -7 )

Baltimore is a disaster area. Cummings has been enriching himself for decades while his city is a mess. Good for Trump - doing his job by calling this disgrace out.

-7 ( +9 / -16 )

Stormcrow already mentioned Trump trash-talking a US city and I’m still trying to work out how this fits in with Trump bringing the country together rather than dividing it.

Is this counterintuitive genius used to unite?

8 ( +11 / -3 )

There's only one explanation for this - there must be another Access Hollywood tape or Stormy admission coming out soon. Donnie is on a tear trying to deflect and dodge...

I'm guessing its that long suggested tape of him on the Apprentice using the "N" word...

In the mean time, he's showing his further decent into the madness of dementia...

Don't impeach - use the 25th Amendment - his latest tweets and senile mutterings during his speeches (father was born in Germany, infrantroopen, lawmurkers) are sufficient enough to show he is unfit for office...

5 ( +9 / -4 )

Mr. President, I go home to my district daily. Each morning, I wake up, and I go and fight for my neighbors. It is my constitutional duty to conduct oversight of the Executive Branch. But, it is my moral duty to fight for my constituents."

Meanwhile the city has been hit with two Ransomware and is in the top 5 of most dangerous US cities. But it’s not Cummings fault. He’s just a leader.

-5 ( +8 / -13 )

Meanwhile the city has been hit with two Ransomware and is in the top 5 of most dangerous US cities. But it’s not Cummings fault. He’s just a leader.

He's a leader in the national level that has no direct control over city and state politics, but don't let facts get in your way.

4 ( +12 / -8 )

Acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney insisted in two national television interviews that that Trump was not making racist comments. Mulvaney, a former congressman himself, said he understood why some people could perceive Trump's words as racist.

That's easy to explain Mick: He never opens his mouth for any reason other than to offend someone.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Baltimore isn't all bad as I'm sure anybody reading this from there would agree.

Yeah, it’s that bad. I was there two years ago.

Anyway, this really is an US against THEM (as in your fellow citizens) mental obsession with Donny-boy, which would be forgivable with people holding most kinds of jobs but not when you're the sitting president.

Once again, liberals refuse to acknowledge or even accept to deal with the reality that Baltimore is an extremely violent place. I don’t think anyone on this site would dream of living there and before you say it, it’s not because the people are Black, it’s because and once again of failed liberal leadership and liberal policies that destroyed the place. But I get it, calling the President a racist and deflecting the crisis is much easier than dealing with the problems. Maybe Cummings and the rest of the Democrats should try to fix the problems of Baltimore or Chicago first instead of trying to unsuccessfully impeach this President. But they want to politics before people, as usual.

-5 ( +10 / -15 )

It's pretty easy to cherry pick from quotes to make someone look good or bad. That's one reason political extremists do that, especially when they to appeal to the 35% of the population unable or unwilling to reason for themselves.

Yet Dems cherry pick time after time because the ends justify the means. Dems push institutional racism in the form of affirmative action, Dems support segregation in college housing and graduations, Dems support a theory of white privilege that postulates that certain people are morally inferior to others based on their skin color. Their ideology prevents them from seeing the harm that this way of thinking causes in a society.

Its sad that things have degenerated to this point. The philosophy of conservatism is based on the value of each individual. The Democrats philosophy is based in differences of identity. Dems have been winning elections for two centuries based on appeals to racial identity. Now that whites will become a minority politics will naturally evolve to include appeals to whites in the same manner as appeals to other races. America had a chance in the 1960s to chart a new course towards a color blind society but blew it. The racial spoils system that the Democrat party has created will likely get worse before their comes another opportunity for a color blind America.

-4 ( +9 / -13 )

Baltimore is a disaster just like many other Dem led cities.

By calling this out it makes Dems take ownership of these horrible conditions.

Dems playing the race card instead of admitting Trump is right is terrible strategy. Now Dems are saying “look at beautiful, vibrant Baltimore! Don’t mind that human feces in the street in San Fran”.

just proves Dems have no ability to improve or change, so we can vote them out and someone else in. Cummings been there 35 years and it’s Trumps fault his city is a mess?

-2 ( +10 / -12 )

i think Cummings and Pelosi going to be really mad when they get home from their taxpayer funded travel and 5 star dinners in Italy.

Instead of doing something for their constituents, it will be back to Trump investigations that help no one.

-4 ( +9 / -13 )

@Chip: He's a leader in the national level that has no direct control over city and state politics, but don't let facts get in your way.

You do not understand the American political system. Representatives in Congress are from relatively small local districts- especially when it comes to densely populated cities. It is their job to coordinate the needs of their constituents with those of the Federal government. In modern America that means money- lots of it - for the priorities of the local leaders in their districts.

Cummings has been helping to fund the priorities of Baltimore for close to 30 years. The city has declined during that time with increased poverty and pathologies that have led to an average of 300 murders per year. Cummings and his fellow Dems in Maryland have failed. But don’t let facts get in the way.

-4 ( +9 / -13 )

Trump supporters trash-talk so many US cities.

Trump trash-talked Baltimore so they do the same.

Stay tuned for more additions to the list from Trump’s twitter account.

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

Trump's Statement on Baltimore is true. Nothing racist about it. Go there and see for yourself (I have been there several times). If you don't have first hand knowledge, it would be better to not state things you cannot support with FACTS, and not your uninformed personal opinion.

-1 ( +11 / -12 )

Yet Dems cherry pick time after time because the ends justify the means. Dems push institutional racism in the form of affirmative action, Dems support segregation in college housing and graduations, Dems support a theory of white privilege that postulates that certain people are morally inferior to others based on their skin color. Their ideology prevents them from seeing the harm that this way of thinking causes in a society.

Which is funny, White Dems champion themselves as the salvation and saviors of minorities and conservative Whites are the evil racists that want to hurt or kill anyone that isn’t White. And yet, you have groups like Antifa that are and will attack anyone that opposes them in the absolute most violent and brutal way, take Andy Ngo for example, the man didn’t do anything other than his job, but because his Asian and conservative, he had to be dealt with. You have more Antifa attacks in this year alone on innocent people than White Nationalist attacks and No, I’m not giving these nut jobs slack or approve or like what they stand for or do, these people are the lowest of low, but it can’t be denied as bad as these people are, they just stand, mouth, chant and will be on their way the majority of the time they don’t look for people to fight unless you get in their face. Antifa will purposely hunt you down and attack you. But you have idiots like Don Lemon who thinks these are good people fighting racism. Andy Ngo wasn’t a racist, I didn’t hear Lemon defending him, as a fellow journalist and who is also gay as he is.

This is the kind of liberal one-sided hypocrisy that just annoys me to No end. Both groups are repulsive, but for liberals to defend a radical group like Antifa and to justify their violent tactics is appalling.

Its sad that things have degenerated to this point. The philosophy of conservatism is based on the value of each individual. The Democrats philosophy is based in differences of identity. Dems have been winning elections for two centuries based on appeals to racial identity.

It should never be about racial identity, liberals need to use race as metaphor, it is vitally important to use that wedge in order to gain a strong footing in any election because they can’t do it based on their policies alone, it’s easier to push a racial narrative because it keeps people angry and it makes people think the downtrodden need to be protected, we need to support them and ensure their safety, this has always been a winning strategy for them and once the Democrats get the votes they need, they abandon the very people they swore to protect, but demonize all conservatives as the enemy that doesn’t care for their well-being. Because one tenant of the conservative philosophy is self-reliance from the government and in doing so is a direct threat to Democrat survival that is dependent on people that need government assistance. Why would they want someone to be self-reliant, that puts them out of business.

I agree.

-12 ( +5 / -17 )

Cummings didn’t fail. He married a woman 20 yrs younger than him. Had her open a “non profit” org and took donations from companies he makes decisions about at work. Goes from bankruptcy to owning multiple houses in the “nice part” of his town.

cummings in return gets called a “hero” and defended by his entire party. Even Bernie took back his criticism of a few years ago. Afraid Kamala will call him a racist at the debate this week. Cummings is winning! The people- not at all.

-5 ( +8 / -13 )

Trump supporters trash-talk so many US cities.

So many cities are trashy, that’s not racist, that’s a fact. Being from LA, I definitely will say that my former city has definitely become a trashy place and it has been on that path since 1998

Trump trash-talked Baltimore so they do the same.

Ok, so the President is supposed to lie and make everyone feel good. “Yes, Baltimore is the cleanest and most prosperous state, great place to raise a family.” Will that appease liberals? Making up stories and sugarcoating them is better?

-6 ( +8 / -14 )

Yeah, it’s that bad. I was there two years ago.

Sure you were. Bad faith Bass is here to get the thread shut down because some of us won't let him get away with pushing blatant falsehoods or engaging in the conversation in bad faith.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

Cummings is the last person to point a finger at the President, he’s just as shifty as the rest of the Democrats that are trying to take him down. Everyone that voted for Trump knew he wasn’t a Saint or pure, but the man was real and direct that’s what people want and you can take every single Democrat that’s trying to unseat this President and look into their background and you would be shocked, take your pick. That’s why whoever the Democrat nominee is, if they think they’ll have it easy trying to get at Trump they need to be forewarned that he’ll know their background and weakness as well and he’ll be gunning for them. Be careful what you wish for.

-10 ( +4 / -14 )

How sad all the Washington DC mudslinging and endless media coverage of it, when the country has real problems and real lives affected to focus on.

Nevertheless I believe President Trump, despite his counter punching trash talk, is defending the honest hard working person from the degrading policies of the race baiting, limousine liberals who say they favor the working person but just use them, while thier lives and neighborhoods descend into more and more chaos.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

Dem voters will soon realize their own leaders have sold them out to get rich and have fancy houses out of district or in the very nicest part.

By Dems not admitting these cities could be improved, more and more residents are realizing who they voted for only use them as a guaranteed voter block.

People starting to wake up and realize they don’t have to be victims and can actually expect these people they elected to do something to earn their vote

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

Sure you were.

Yes, by plane and car that’s how.

Bad faith Bass is here to get the thread shut down because some of us won't let him get away with pushing blatant falsehoods or engaging in the conversation in bad faith.

Not bad faith, but reality. Sorry, anyone that has been to Baltimore and deals with reality knows it is definitely a very unsafe and violent place. A falsehood would be to say that it is a wonderful place to raise a family. It is a place with the least amount of gangs and violence, that would be a blatant “falsehood.”

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

Ok, so the President is supposed to lie

He lies constantly.

Do you think this kind of trash-talk unites or divides the country and do you think uniting the country is something he should try to do?

7 ( +9 / -2 )

@Wolfpack

It is their job to coordinate the needs of their constituents with those of the Federal government.

Interesting statement, but what does it mean?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Uniting the country under a falsehood that Baltimore and San Fran and LA are safe wonderful places to live? That if you are a Dem person of color no matter what you do you can’t be criticized or expected to improve?

No thanks.

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

Don't fall for the Trumpers' trap, this isn't about Rep Cummings.

This is about the hate-filled, sick, senile old man in the White House who continues to tweet out outrageous racist statements. The sick, senile old man who was sued for failing to rent to Black Americans, who said 5 Black teenagers should be executed for a crime they didn't commit, who started birtherism - one of the most blatant racist slurs of all time, who said some Neo Nazis and white supremacists were "vert fine people", who attacked 4 Congreeswomen of color, and who now denigrates a civil rights icon.

Racists like David Duke openly swear their allegiance to Trump; "We're gonna fulfill the promises of Donald Trump. That's what we've believed in, that's why we voted for Donald Trump because he said he's gonna take our country back - and that's what we gotta do.”

Ignore their attacks on Rep Cummings - it only shows their desperation and degradation...

I'm still waiting for a Trumper to define "infatroopen" and "lawmurkers"...

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Weren’t you the Austin, TX is a wonderful liberal city guy? Guess you haven’t been downtown 6th street and had people begging you for food, alcohol and drugs. Guess you missed that whole sidewalk of tents where liberal lawmakers passed a new law where people can Camp on the sidewalk.

Expect better of your elected representatives and stop protecting them.

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

No. The topic is Cummings. His name is in all the tweets from the President. Nice deflection try to get your alt left talking points in.

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

The civil rights icon is John Lewis. Cummings was in Junior high school then. You need to go back and recheck the talking points you were given.

who now denigrates a civil rights icon.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

He lies constantly.

They all lie, nothing new. I don’t know a politician, businessman or lawyer that doesn’t. Trump doesn’t get the prize in that.

Do you think this kind of trash-talk unites or divides the country and do you think uniting the country

We’ve been divided since 1998 and it’s gotten worse. So it doesn’t matter, but I think if you’re worried about trash talking, talk to the Lemon heads over at CNN and talk to Jeff Zucker for dragging the once fine network down to the toilet, but that’s what you get when you have a former TV entertainer getting his mitts on and leading a once powerful news network.

This is about the hate-filled, sick, senile old man in the White House who continues to tweet out outrageous racist statements.

Did he say something racially about Cummings? Be specific now.

The sick, senile old man who was sued for failing to rent to Black Americans,

With good reason, given the climate and time of a violent NYC.

who said 5 Black teenagers should be executed for a crime they didn't commit,

But physically brutalized the woman.

who started birtherism -

John Podesta to be exact.

one of the most blatant racist slurs of all time, who said some Neo Nazis and white supremacists were "vert fine people",

What about the Don Lemon calling Antifa groups good people?

who attacked 4 Congreeswomen of color,

But never said or mentioned anything about their color, race or religion.

and who now denigrates a civil rights icon.

And they denigrate him and some have tried to sabotage his Presidency underhandedly.

Ignore their attacks on Rep Cummings - it only shows their desperation and degradation...

Seems like Cummings is desperate now seeing that his legal problems are going to cause him further headaches, yes, it’s about Cummings. The man chose a fight that he can’t win. Man, why Democrats never learn....

Donny J. Trump.

Donny gets the top prize in lying by any objective standard.

Anti-fascism is good, actually.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

@Kestrel

Baltimore is a disaster area. Cummings has been enriching himself for decades while his city is a mess.

Exactly. This is the age old problem with socialistic/communist leaders and policies. They deceive poor communities by portraying themselves as thier saviors promising 'bread and land' via big govt handouts. In the end the poor end up dependant on the government, lacking initiative, neighborhoods a wreck, while thier 'saviors' end up rich, like rep Cummings.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

It’s sad how hard liberals beg to get topics shut down when they lose.

Your main guy doesn’t even know that John Lewis and Elijah Cummings are different people.

Hint: Elijah is on a taxpayer funded 5 star travel to Italy with Nancy during a 6 week paid vacation to “go home to their districts”.

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

How can anyone in good conscience defend rep Cummings and his ilk? This shows how little real concern for the poor some Democrats/liberals have. Baltimore IS a disaster on Cumming's watch. THROW HIM AND ALL LYING, GET RICH ON THE BACKS OF THE POOR POLITICANS OUT! And put in leadership, either Democrat or Republican who are sincere and who actually clean up the city, reduce crime and improve the lives of its residents.

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

Trump has tweeted the words "infest", "infested", and "infestation" eight times. All eight of those times he was referencing people with African or Latin American heritage.

Likewise, Trump has never called on a white person to "go back" to where they came from.

Trump's political life was inaugurated with a call for Barack Obama's birth certificate.

Just a bunch of coincidences, I'm sure . . .

8 ( +11 / -3 )

@bas4f They all lie, nothing new.

The alt right have to continue to lower standards to defend their corrupt 'leaders'. Why do they hate America and American systems so much. SMH

who attacked 4 Congreeswomen of color,

@bas4f But never said or mentioned anything about their color, race or religion.

If someone's first language isn't English and might not have an understanding of how dog whistles are used, or if their first language is English and they want to ignore racist language they probably would say it wasn't about color, race or religion.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Rather than highlight Rep Cumming's disgraceful failure to do something effective about the suffering of the people of his city, this article chooses to focus on the president pointing this out? Is this not absolutely diabolical? Shame on JT and other media editors for publishing such drivel!

No wonder Jesus said 'The poor you always have with you' Because they always get absolutely used and shafted by people like Cummings, big business, and media outlets like JT. It's a disgrace.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

Send Sheriff David Clark to Baltimore immediately! A black 'no fuss' leader who cares about his people and acts decisively to improve thier lives.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

We are discussing politicians, not networks. More bad faith.

Sorry, the networks play a huge roll in this that wants to see this Presidents downfall.

You know that's not the only way to be racist. More bad faith.

No, don’t give me that! If you make a racist charge, prove it. Don’t spout of saying he’s racist and you can’t prove it. There was zero mention of race. Liberals always want to cherry pick what they think is racist, anyone else, don’t have that privilege. Typical...

Excusing blatant racism. More bad faith.

How? None of them or the lawsuit could prove they were denied based on their color of skin.

Sure. They battered her and then someone else came along and raped her.

Sorry, can’t change the court documents.

He's not the president. More bad faith.

He’s got the TV, the mic and a voice and before checking the facts, this moon bat always spouts off and believes in resisting this President, so either he’s a journalist or an activist. If he’s an activist, then he needs to get out of his contract. If he is, then he needs to be a bit more fair in his reportage.

Not the only way racism rears its ugly head. More bad faith.

Sorry, it is the only LEGAL way if you want to charge person with racism, you have to prove it, if you can’t, you are opening up a lot of legal problems for yourself.

Yes, damn Cummings for doing his job of oversight of the executive. Damn him all to hell for doing his job! More bad faith.

He should do his job, but before pointing the finger, he might want to check his own closet before jumping down other peoples throats. But as usual, Democrats for some odd reason think people are dumb and can’t find things out through public records.

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

Likewise, Trump has never called on a white person to "go back" to where they came from.

You mean when he said go and then come back? I’m sure it was just a mistake on your part. Please post your pics of your upcoming visit to Baltimore.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

We’ve been divided since 1998 and it’s gotten worse. So it doesn’t matter, but I think if you’re worried about trash talking, talk to the Lemon heads over at CNN

As you and Trump and his supporters tell us, almost nobody watches low-ratings CNN and so their partisan bleating has little effect. Why would you talk to them? They are peripheral. You can’t have this both ways.

The next time you often rightly attack identity politics as divisive, just remember you defended Trump’s divisive rhetoric with the idea that ‘it doesn’t matter’ as the country is already divided.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

The alt right have to continue to lower standards to defend their corrupt 'leaders'. Why do they hate America and American systems so much. SMH

The don’t, that would be 1. The Squad and 2. The Democrats in general. They’ve been in power since January and still haven’t passed any proper legislation.

.

if their first language is English and they want to ignore racist language they probably would say it wasn't about color, race or religion.

Ok, that’s one laughable argument, but let’s seriously deal with reality now, if I’m going to sue someone in court over racist allegations, I’d better be able to back it up, calling someone’s home a slum or ghetto doesn’t make the person saying it a racist. If Obama said the same thing to someone White would that be racist as well or will liberals move the goalpost and claim it’s not racist? If not, then why? Only minorities are able to make the charge of racism whenever it suits them for any political advantage, but whites can’t claim the same? Don’t you think that’s the very definition of racism?

-10 ( +1 / -11 )

The civil rights icon is John Lewis. Cummings was in Junior high school then. You need to go back and recheck the talking points you were given.

More blatant racist falsehoods - just keep digging the hole deeper; In 2001, Matias Reyes, a convicted murderer and serial rapist serving life in prison, confessed to officials that he had raped the female jogger. His DNA matched that found at the scene, and he provided other confirmatory evidence. He said he committed the rape alone. In 2002 Robert Morgenthau, District Attorney for New York County, had his office conduct an investigation and recommended to the state court that the convictions of the five men on all charges be vacated. The court vacated their convictions in 2002, and the state withdrew all charges against the men.

And you cannot make a claim that someone is racist without proof..

Sorry, nope! Very relevant. He’s a public figure like the President, if liberals want to poke and dig and get anything they can find on the President, then two can play that game as well since Cummings is, a public figure, so if he’s calling out Trump, Trump and the GOP can do the same.

Just admit you got him confused with John Lewis and move on.

Running home from a segregated elementary school as a child to listen to an actual civil rights icon speak on the radio doesn’t makes you also an icon.

It makes you an impressionable child who should have continued the path of MLK but let greed and power guide you instead.

Wouldn't you know a Trumper would flunk his civil rights history...

Mulvaney, a former congressman himself, said he understood why some people could perceive Trump's words as racist.

= Trump appears to be racist, but he's not. He's just a childish bully who pretends to be racist when someone of color criticizes him. All tough guys do this.

"It has zero to do with the fact that Adam is Jewish and everything to do with Adam would just be wrong if he were saying that," Mulvaney said. "This is what the president does. He fights and he's not wrong to do so."

= Trump cannot possibly be racist because he's not racist all the time.

@bass

None of them or the lawsuit could prove they were denied based on their color of skin.

Four of Trump's agents testified that they were instructed to write "C" or "9" for prospective tenants of color, and were told not to rent to them. Three doormen also testified that they were told to lie to black people entering the building about rent prices and availability. Trump settled out of court

Besides, you've repeatedly defended this practice, saying you'd do the same thing since crime rates among blacks in NYC in the 70s were so high. Now you're denying Trump did this?

From that article:

“Around the block from his front stoop—where he’s known to occasionally feed the neighborhood pigeons—sit vacant homes, a drug recovery house, senior apartments, and a blighted public-housing complex scheduled for demolition. His home here has been burglarized, his car broken into several times and, once, he was robbed at gunpoint by two men with sawed-off shotguns.”

Sounds like a lovely place just as Trump described. Guess he moved since 2014.

The brand new deputy police commissioner was robbed at gunpoint already . He has lived there since April. Welcome to vibrant B’more!

These past several days these threads have been filled with Trumpers trying to out-racist one another - and here's a good example. Did you read the article? Did you see the civil rights legislation he's authored and supported? Keep digging - you'll get to the KKK cellar soon.

Speaking of confusion, how come no answer to "infantroopen" and "lawmurkers"?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

This is such a cruel, divisive, unproductive way to govern that I don’t understand why anyone continues to support him unless they also are ignorant racists.

Want to see what a city looks like after Trump stuck his stubby fingers all over it? Check out Atlantic City, who believed his lies and suffered accordingly.

Bernie in 2015: Baltimore looks like a "Third World country" ( true )

Trump in 2019: Baltimore is a "rodent-infested mess" ( true )

Media: Trump is a racist!

Civil rights movement was from 1953-1968. So no I didn’t see it. Neither did Cummings.

Did you see the civil rights legislation he's authored and supported?

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

John Lewis on the other hand, civil rights leader.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/JohnLewis(civil_rights_leader)

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

The don’t, that would be 1. The Squad and 2. The Democrats in general. They’ve been in power since January and still haven’t passed any proper legislation

Is that why Turtle McConnell is sitting in over 100 pieces of legislation passed by the House? More bad faith.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

But we do know about Cummings

BINGO! A Trumper finally admitted Donnie was a racist...

No one said that.

https://www.oxygen.com/martinis-murder/central-park-joggers-injuries-trisha-meili

thanks for agreeing with me..

About Don Lemon, anytime.

No, that would be Trump supporter

Actually a John Podesta to be specific.

Trump tweets tomorrow; "Round up all the brown people and send them back to Africa"

Trumpers; "Show us where he is racist - be specific now...."

Ok, so no proof. So once again we see that the driving force behind faulty and alleged racist claims comes from Liberals, desperation in a political year is a hell of a thing. Smh.

Cummings is in a pickle and this guy knows the spotlight is being turned on him as well as the other incompetent Democrats and their minions.

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

if I’m going to sue someone in court over racist allegations, I’d better be able to back it up,

Like the federal government sued Donny and his daddy for racism in refusal to rent to black people.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Civil rights movement was from 1953-1968. So no I didn’t see it. Neither did Cummings.

Uhhh . . . That's not how determining who is a civil rights icon works. Bad faith from black.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Actually a John Podesta to be specific.

Nope. More bad faith.

It seems as thoufh you honestly think your tactics are appropriate in critical discourse amongst adults. That's just sad.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

So how does it work? You can be a child during the defined period of a movement but later become an adult “hero” or “icon” of a movement you had nothing to do with? That’s disrespectful to claim such. Cummings should disavow others who connect him to what he didn’t do.

That's not how determining who is a civil rights icon works

According to your "logic," Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington, and W.E.B. Du Bois aren't civil rights icons.

Four of Trump's agents testified that they were instructed to write "C" or "9" for prospective tenants of color, and were told not to rent to them.

How do you know they truthfully testified? Where is the court report. How do you know that it wasn’t a lie? You probably don’t know this, but the corruption and payouts for things like arson brought in a lot of money as well as minorities claiming racist cases on business for a multitude of reasons, one for huge payouts to buy more drugs if they couldn’t get it through extortion.

Three doormen also testified that they were told to lie to black people entering the building about rent prices and availability. Trump settled out of court

Could be and as I said, before knowing the climate at that time, it’s understandable, but sorry, most of the street drug dealers were Black, that’s not racist, that’s a fact and you just had to be careful, especially NYC at that time had an almost annual 2000 murders a year. Trump was being careful and being careful is not a racist thing, it’s actually a safe and good thing.

Besides, you've repeatedly defended this practice, saying you'd do the same thing since crime rates among blacks in NYC in the 70s were so high. Now you're denying Trump did this?

Absolutely not.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

I've lived in 13 different metro areas, in 11 different states, around the USA, including the DC/Baltimore area. Visitors to Baltimore need to be cautious NOT to get lost so you don't end up in the 25% of neighborhoods that are extremely dangerous. Take the wrong freeway exit, BAM!

Baltimore needs someone like Rudy Giuliani as mayor to clean things up like he did in NYC. Violent crime dropped by 56% in the 8 yrs Rudy was mayor. Murder down 66%, assault down 28%. He doesn't deserve all the credit, since there were other macro, nationwide changes happening at the same time, but he did provide political support for all those people who did make a difference. There is a game plan. It worked for NYC, so why hasn't Baltimore followed it?

He also brought confidence to a police force that felt besieged and demoralized under the previous Democratic administration.

If Baltimore wants to be a city that attracts wealthy business, higher salaries, and more taxes, they've got to get their crime under control.

Cummings has been there 30 yrs. Will more time actually help solve the crime problem or will he just sit on his ass more years?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

So the Japanese guys who fought World War 2 until the early 1970s were heroes.......of World War 2?

You make no sense. If you draw something in crayon today that continues in the spirit of the Renaissance period, you are a hero of....the Renaissance?

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

They are not “civil rights icons”- no.

But at least their contributions eventually led to it. So we could call them the forefathers of the eventual movement.

Cummings is after the fact, he contributed nothing to It.

“Frederick Douglass (born Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey; c. February 1818[4] – February 20, 1895[5]) was an American social reformer, abolitionist, orator, writer, and statesman.”

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

So back to my point. Your guy just didn’t know the difference between Elijah Cummings and John Lewis. He also doesn’t want to admit why he confused them.

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

*Trump is descending deeper into his maddening maelstrom of violent vicious hatred and *he wants to take America down with him.

No, he wants to take down the racist Democrats, really.

*Everything he has done and said after he usurped the WH has been motivated by hurtful violent hatred. First he gave a temper-tantrum of an inauguration speech, then he signed for an oil pipeline in Standing Rock, violating treaties with the Sioux Confederation - *hatred!

I guess liberals forgot about the Covington case where they smeared a bunch of high school kids calling them racists that they later had to retract because they got caught lying.

He has done his darndest to try to undo everything Pres. Obama did before him -

Obama did the same to Bush-hatred.

*He has intentionally withheld disaster relief aid to Puerto Rico and states that either have a lot of Hispanics or whose governors don't kiss up to him - *hatred!

Puerto Rico mismanaged their island for years before the hurricane, they didn’t allocate the supplies the way they should have. The island is as corrupt as it gets and what happened as a result, the corrupt governor steps down and the people cheer, has nothing to do with Trump, but for the Democrats it was good fish feed for the media.

*He has expressed boorish hatred toward immigrants, especially from Haiti and Africa - *hatred!

What? Here we go....

*He imposed an immigration ban on people, particularly Muslims, fleeing war and disease and brutality in the ISIL-ridden Middle East - *hatred!

8 most violent Muslim countries that have a very serious problem with radical extremism. 8 out of 49 Muslim countries, “hate?” Hardly.

*He body-shames women openly and implies that rape is alright - sexist *hatred!

They do the same to him, don’t be selective.

*He makes crude racist remarks like a juvenile kid - more hatred! He even indicated that he would not help General Motors in America through its problems of mismanagement and layoffs with another buyout - *

The worst thing that Obama did during his administration was the bailout. We have bankruptcy laws for a reason, use it, restructure and start again.

childish irresponsibility and just more open disregard for the US economy

Doing great, look at it, it’s on fire. Democrats are going to really have a hard time going against that.

*and yes, more. 'Build that wall, migrants are animals, kidnap their children' - even more vivid *hatred!

Ok, liberals want open borders, free healthcare and voting rights and benefits. Let’s just forget about it’s native legal citizens, illegals come first. Again, Democrats will crash and burn next year for that.

Remember, Omartra (sp?) revealed in her book that Donnie throws the 'N' word about all the time. No surprise in that, is there?

Oh, the crazy woman that defended Trump would do anything for Trump and that Trump allowed her to live in the WH, you mean Omarosa? Still don’t know why he did that. So if he allows this woman to live, but uses racial epithets....wait. Doesn’t make sense. Don’t believe a word of it. We’re he a flat out racist, there’s no way that woman, despite everyone’s objections could live in the WH.

*And as for calling Baltimore a 'trash town', Donnie himself cried and bellyached about the WH being a 'dump', so he needs to *shut up.

He could be right, they had to do a lot of renovating so because he said that about the WH, he’s a racist? Oxymoron.....

Cummings is going to really regret this because now he left himself politically exposed and expect more attacks from Trump to come. They won’t back off and neither will he.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Black: Why does it bother you so much that Cummings is a civil rights icon? Why are you denying that Frederick Douglass is a civil rights icon?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Trump became racist back in 2015 when he announced his candidacy for President.

Is that why Turtle McConnell is sitting in over 100 pieces of legislation passed by the House? More bad faith.

Tell me, Chip Star, how come the Speaker of the House Pelosi has a lower approval rating than Trump by any poll?

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

Tell me, Chip Star, how come the Speaker of the House Pelosi has a lower approval rating than Trump by any poll?

This is completely irrelevant to McConnell refusing to take up legislation that has been passed by the House.

More bad faith arguments from Trumpophiles. You all would have absolutely nothing to post if younengaged in the conversation in good faith.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Because neither actually are “civil rights icons”. That’s MLK and John Lewis and others.

But Trump did get this award:

The Ellis Island Medals of Honor embody the spirit of America in their celebration of patriotism, tolerance, brotherhood and diversity. They recognize individuals who have made it their mission to share with those less fortunate their wealth of knowledge, indomitable courage, boundless compassion, unique talents and selfless generosity; all while maintaining the traditions of their ethnic heritage as they uphold the ideals and spirit of America

But Trump did get this award:

Obama got a Nobel Peace Prize.

i think Cummings and Pelosi going to be really mad when they get home from their taxpayer funded travel and 5 star dinners in Italy.

like all those taxpayer funded golf vacations to MarLargo that Trump personally profits from. Trump spent more time playing golf in his first year than Obama did in his entire term.

Donald Trump is probably the least racist, homophobic and sexist President that this country has ever had.

-15 ( +0 / -15 )

Donald Trump is probably the least racist, homophobic and sexist President that this country has ever had.

This is untrue.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

Trump became racist back in 2015 when he announced his candidacy for President.

He has actually been a racist for a much longer time than that.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

Donald Trump is probably the least racist, homophobic and sexist President that this country has ever had.

Dang straight - and he's also the President that most respects women and the institution of marriage...

Because neither actually are “civil rights icons”. That’s MLK and John Lewis and others.

Trumpers waxing on the topic of civil rights icons...you might as well ask David Duke....or maybe Repub Rep Steve King; who said - "White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization—how did that language become offensive?”

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Donald Trump is probably the least racist, homophobic and sexist President that this country has ever had.

Can you name another president in recent history who has referenced racist organizations?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

A couple prescient facts about Baltimore;

1/ The mayor of Baltimore herself, in a TV interview, complained about rats and dead animals as recently as last year.

2/ The Baltimore Morning Sun newspaper agreed in 2016 that Baltimore is a 'disaster' and needs to be rebuilt.

So the President's criticisms are accurate, not racist.

As for his "racism", you only need to see immigration policy under President Trump to realize that it is a bogus charge. Last year the US allowed more than one MILLION legal immigrants into the country. Guess how many were white? Less than 10%. More than 90% were from non-white areas such as Africa, South America and Asia. Now, would a white nationalist president allow this? Of course not. It's just another fake charge with no factual basis. Much like the disproven quote from Charlottesville about "good people on both sides". All you need to do is look it up and again the truth comes out.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Did you figure out who John Lewis is yet?

A so called "Trumper" knows who he is while you thought he was actually Elijah Cummings. So there is that.

Trumpers waxing on the topic of civil rights icons

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

the President's criticisms are accurate, not racist.

You do understand what context is, don't you?

Four legislators of color criticize Trump. Trump tells them to go back to where they came from, an invective that --besides being irrelevant to the discourse--has long been used against minorities who are considered by the speaker to be not acceptably American.

Another legislator of color criticizes Trump. Trump responds by denigrating Baltimore as "infested", a word that Trump only uses against people of color.
