Sad indeed. rip Also special mention to his fantastic work on 'Man on Fire'

The combination of Tarentino and Scott on True Romance makes it my favourite of his works, but he has a lot of other awesome movies. Didn't he also do Aliens 2?
LostinNagoya
Errr...Ridley Scott, or so I remember, directed Alien. RIP.

OMG!
I only watched Crimson Tide a few nights ago... this is such a tragedy. From how it's written it looks as if he just pulled over and jumped off the bridge.
RIP Tony.
Oh and James Cameron directed "A L I E N S"

Thunderbird: "and James Cameron directed ALIENS"
Good call. Ridley Scott directed the original (and Prometheus), which is why I was confused.

Who cares about Alien or Aliens! This guy is dead! Very sad indeed! I love Top Gun!!! RIP

Isn't this the 2nd Brother that Ridley lost to a tragedy?
RIP, I enjoyed your movie. A great loss.

Shocker. Loved Spy Game btw. Saw a rumor on another site that he may have been terminally ill with brain cancer and in horrible pain. Yes, his other bro Frank died of cancer btw...

Beverley Hills Cop 2 a classic of the 80's and the genre.
Lowly
Must've been really sick or had some other problems.
Hope he's found peace.

More and more people seem to be choosing suicide against advanced decrepitude, if that is indeed the case.
I can't say I blame them, it is about time people should be able to legally choose their time to go rather than choosing improvised options.

Jumping off bridges: highway to the danger zone. RIP.

If he wanted to commit suicide couldn't he have just tried a somewhat easier and less problematic (other peoples lives were interfered with by what he did...) method? I for one don't advocate legalising suicide, its just one more step to euthanasia and I'd prefer to find out how the story (of life) ends naturally. Only thing I want to know is the reason he killed himself.
nath
Sorry ziich, it's spare.

"its just one more step to euthanasia and I'd prefer to find out how the story (of life) ends naturally"
You perhaps, but others deserve to have make their own choice in the matter. In fact Honest, you may find the fact that euthanasia is illegal is the reason this guy chose such a radical and violent death.
HonestDictator
Thats on him but he still interfered with other peoples lives. He could have just stayed at home and ODed on pills instead of going to a bridge and causing it to be closed down for who knows how long. Personally I could care less what a person does to themselves, AS LONG AS IT DOES NOT AFFECT OTHERS.
HonestDictator
I do know there are a few states that allow doctor assisted suicide too, he could have traveled to them and gotten it done.
Madverts
Suicide always affects others....
Although it is looking like he wasn't ill so perhaps there is more to the story....
On a lighter note, at least we probably won't have to see Tom Cruise trying not to look short and gay in Top Gun 2 :D
