Bah 1 + 1 equals 6 as usual.
Successive governments have kicked this can down the road for decades.
Many of the euro retirement funds are nothing short of Ponzi schemes.

Governments around the world borrow your hard earned pension during your life time then poof! It's all gone and now they say you need to slave for us for a few more years. Happened in America and it's happening in Japan as we write this piece.

Government should stick to governing, and not providing pension / retirement plans for everyone.
People wanna retire younger, fine. But they need to be able to pay for that themselves.

36 hours business week, retirement on 62 yo. This may not work. Btw yesterday I read an interesting article in the German press describing that Europe should follow Japan's example regarding the role of senior employment in the modern economic model.

Macron will fail. Nobody is ever going to be able to make the French people work harder or longer. The Tories will get wiped off the political map in the UK next year, possibly sooner. A lot of regimes will be replaced in Europe in the next two years. Putin is getting a lot of bang for his buck from Ukraine.

*Macron will fail. "
I respectfully disagree. Not only that, the stereotype of the French being lazy or smelly or whatever is exactly just that. I've had several businesses here over the years and had some amazing employees.
The French are actually more productive than than the British believe it or not.
"France is between 9% and 28% more productive than the UK, with a central estimate of 18% more productive"

We should start with equality in retirement first in my opinion. Lazy SNCF workers retiring on ridiculous sums at 50 years old - that have the cheek to strike in order to retain bonuses intended for those working with dangerous steam trains that haven't existed for 60 years should be the first on the chopping block.

Yes, lazy is when you strike because you're unhappy with your working conditions.

Silly assertion. People strike because of poor working conditions. No one does it for laziness.
Cards fan
That certainly wasn't my assertion lol

I literally quoted your text.
