“The economy can’t withstand losing the RNC,” he said.

A line heard not just in North Carolina but in every other state. What some had claimed was 'the greatest economy ever' is once again shown to have been a house of cards.

If the masters-of-the-economy - in the US and around the 'globe' - are blaming economic problems on the pandemic, they need to accept their decisions to reduce healthcare programs contributed to the financial problems they're having.

“I’m not so concerned about the tweet. He doesn’t have the authority to change the convention,” she said.

Our splendid president, trump doesn’t have much authority on anything.

Even Twitter is labeling ‘fact-check’ on his tweets.

Of course, no economy could escape the wrath of this virus.

When the economy is good, all credit goes to our dear president, trump.

When the economy is collapsing it is the Chineses’ fault!!!

President Donald Trump’s demand for a full-capacity Republican convention in August is putting pressure on North Carolina health officials — and local Republicans — as coronavirus cases surge in the host county and statewide.

Well, I don't see what all the fuss is about. Have the convention and just follow the advice and example of our Stable Genius President;

Make everyone take hydroxichloroquine before attending...

Have a Clorox or Drano bottle for each attendee...

Have blue-light rectal suppositories available...

Done. Everyone safe. No worries. Now, break out the Confederate flags and AR15's and let's have us a real Repub convention... Everyone practice the chant beforehand; "Lock Him Up"...

It was fine before it hit.

Of course or Trump shouldn’t have closed the country down, yeah, that really would have winked him. I do not unleashed this virus, the economy still would be great. Thank God the markets reopened and on a positive especially after hearing what Trump had to say about the economy, that’s a very good sign and people are starting to work, so it’s looking up. Positive things to come.

According to Trump's government statistics. Leaders who ignored warnings about the high likelihood of a pandemic and did little if anything to prepare, even cut back health programs, contributed to the damaged economy the world is now seeing. Many among the huge number of workers who lost their jobs will remember that come November.

“We have asked them to present a plan on paper to us laying out the various options that we’ve already discussed," Cooper said. "They know we’re talking about a time that’s three months from now, so we have to have options regarding how this convention is going to be run depending on where we are with the virus in August.”

State Health and Human Services Secretary Mandy Cohen's letter signed Monday asks Republican convention organizers for a written COVID-19 safety plan “as soon as possible,” noting that Cohen and Cooper discussed various scenarios with GOP officials by phone Friday. She wrote that it's important to plan for multiple options because the "status of COVID-19 infections in our state and in the Charlotte area continues to rapidly evolve.”

That's reasonable

Gotta have different contingency plans depending on whatever condition actually occurs come August

Can't assume what condition it'll be, and certainly can't assume that everything will be all OK by then
