I'd like to thank the patriotic generals for doing their duty to the nation, but I do fear the end game here. It will only take one bad apple to destroy this nation.

Trump has put us in a very dangerous situation.

The generals are saving this country by default, for several reasons: One is that the military does have a long tradition of putting country first and these generals are a product of that. Second is that Trump admires the military (he likes to play soldier) and since he gets to pick his cabinet and staff, he has at least picked generals who understand government (as opposed to TIllerson, Carson, DeVos and so on who have no idea what they're doing). Third is that if the Republicans in Congress would do their Constitutional duty, the generals wouldn't have to be doing it for them (in the sense of reining in Trump's disastrous impulses, that is).

If one believes Steve Bannon, the firing of former FBI Director James Comey was the biggest mistake in modern political history

I would rather experienced Military Personnel to be in charge of providing advice, since they should know first hand the cost of War, rather than the arm-chair warrior Civy who's closest encounter to War was probably a Computer Game these days.

A steady hand? Shouldn't the Commander in Chief have two of those...?

I do not like Trump and his cabinet and administration is a mess, however I am thankful these 3 men are in the position they are. These men are experienced and well respected by the men that served under them for a good reason.

@Crazy Joe - you and I share equal disdain for the President, however, he did not create this mess; this mess is a product of allowing North Korea to fester for decades to the point where something must be done to stop this man. Kim is much more unhinged then his predecessors and this was not caused by Trump. I do fear that Trump could easily mishandle this situation if left to his on volition, however these 3 men will probably not allow that to happen.

This is a really difficult situation (probably the most difficult the U.S. has faced since the Cuban Missile Crisis). At least during the Cold War we had open communication with the U.S.S.R and could actually gather human intelligence. North Korea is a completely different deal.
