“Why is this a global competition to you if everyday Americans are still losing their lives and we're still seeing more cases every day?”

Absolutely correct question to have asked.

Trump's once again showing his inability to accept that an individual like Ms Jiang can have physical characteristics different from his - and the demographic he represents - and still be an American.

Trump's once again playing for his base made up primarily of those from his demographic in his ongoing attempts to further divide the long divided nation.

And he's aided by his media - US and 'foreign' - and armies of social media keyboard warriors, also US and 'foreign'.

Just like a little kid who never grew up.

“Why is this a global competition to you if everyday Americans are still losing their lives and we're still seeing more cases every day?”

Absolutely correct question to have asked.

Nooooo, it's a very snarky question, to which Trump rightly responded with "Well, they're losing their lives everywhere in the world, and maybe that's a question you should ask China."

She is bellicose, arrogant, rude and unprofessional.

Just like a little kid who never grew up.

Childish too.

November can't arrive soon enough.

It would be like divine retribution if he did not win one state.

I doubt if that will happen, but I will be happy to see a change of leadership in January 2021 and this long, long,

four-year nightmare over.

Then and only then will we make some really progress fighting this hideous disease.

17 ( +31 / -14 )

The press is always looking to fight with Republicans and Trump doesn’t disappoint by not turning the other cheek. All conservatives should fight back with the hypocrites in the press. The arrogance and self importance of modern journalists is truly astounding.

-28 ( +13 / -41 )

November can't arrive soon enough.

Agreed. The Republicans need to take back the House.

-29 ( +11 / -40 )

This is not news. This is absolute trash. Who in their right mind cares about 'contentious exchanges' in the White House briefing? When aren't there contentious exchanges? I've never been a fan of Trump but I'm forced to defend him because of the absolute trash that comes from our media. Trash that is so easily debunked or simply doesn't matter. You're just screaming 'ORANGE MAN BAD'. This is the kind of article that suggests you are running out of material... now that the Russian collusion myth has not only unravelled, but is now blowing up in the left wing media's face.

-20 ( +13 / -33 )

Agreed. The Republicans need to take back the House.

no chance at all, and they are in real danger of losing the senate.

9 ( +20 / -11 )

Trump doesn’t disappoint by not turning the other cheek.

He doesn't not do what he doesn't do what not now?

13 ( +16 / -3 )

Couldn't cope. Ran away. From a couple of women.

AKA - he acted presidential.

7 ( +13 / -6 )

Yes, I wonder how this is among the most important things going on to make it to the WORLD section of a Japan based website. But hey, let the media keep making themselves the story. If this is important, everything else must be going really well.

-18 ( +5 / -23 )

First let me be clear I despise trump for the 1000s of lies, stupidity, ignorance etc etc etc....

That said Jiang's questions were not about getting to the news of the day but seeming to provoke a response, create a "moment"......entertain...….

Left or right leaning it DONT MATTER, ""tv news"" these days is utter CRAP all round, from Fox to CNN its all its own special BS!!

I miss the days when you could basically watch the NEWS on a news program, sadly those days are long gone!

7 ( +13 / -6 )

I've never been a fan of Trump

now that the Russian collusion myth

Are you sure you're not a fan of Trump? Because you do talk like one of his supporters.

18 ( +23 / -5 )

Absolutely correct question to have asked.

And Trump’s response was correct.

Trump's once again showing his inability to accept that an individual like Ms Jiang can have physical characteristics different from his - and the demographic he represents - and still be an American.

Oh, yes! We keep forgetting it has to be racism because an Asian woman of Chinese descent asked that question. Forget the fact that Trump jumps on all the CNN analysts who are mostly white, but of course that’s not racism, they are white and that’s just anger, but an Asian reporter asking it, then it translates to racism, it has to be there is no other way around it. Smh..."

Trump's once again playing for his base made up primarily of those from his demographic in his ongoing attempts to further divide the long divided nation.

Not so sure, you got a lot of silent people that don’t want a ruckus and say to their friends quietly, he’s right.

And he's aided by his media

Gosh, if that were even a little bit true....

-18 ( +9 / -27 )

First let me be clear I despise trump for the 1000s of lies, stupidity, ignorance etc etc etc....

I mostly agree with you comments. I heard something about his lies, though, which I often think about.

The lies of Trump - spontaneous, impulsive, self serving

The lies of the political establishment - planned, manipulative, ideological, totalitarian

Pick your lies.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

The next reporter couldnt ask her questions because the previous one wouldnt stop screaming with her mask off her face.

The CNN reporter decided to let her colleague continue to scream out during her own time, so she lost her question chance.

Maybe next time she tells her colleague to be quiet so that she can have her turn after she is called on.

-20 ( +8 / -28 )

Absolutely correct question to have asked.

And Trump’s response was correct.

Hmmm.... First time I've heard "WHAA-WHAA" is a correct answer...

Not so sure, you got a lot of silent people that don’t want a ruckus and say to their friends quietly, he’s right.

Absolutely true. "Hey Sergei, don't you think Trump is right? Yes Vladimir, he's definitely right"....

11 ( +15 / -4 )

I find Weijia Jiang immature, selfish, thin skinned and irritating. I would never listen to her if I wanted real news.

-15 ( +8 / -23 )

The only thing missing was the man-child crossing his arms, and the huffing and puffing.

I'm constantly being reminded of what Mrs White said to her daughter, Carrie: They're all going to laugh at you. They're all going to laugh at you. They're all going to laugh at you.

8 ( +13 / -5 )

“Sir, why are you saying that to me, specifically?” Jiang asked. Jiang, who has worked for CBS News since 2015, was born in Xiamen, China, and emigrated to the United States with her family at age 2.

Nice attempt to try and bait the Prez into something "racial"

But why doesnt she, as a person of "Asian American" or Chinese origin, direct her questions, towards her country of origin? I find it strange that many Chinese in the US cant speak or understand English. How did they get there? who is holding them accountable? They will claim to be Asian American, but then they all hate each other. Im trying to understand what it means to be Asian American. Its no secret that Chinese and Japanese dont like each other; some of the most vile racist things I have heard about Chinese come from Japanese.

-23 ( +4 / -27 )

The con game is over and even Trump knows it now. Trump could lie his way out of political issues but not a pandemic which he massively failed to manage.

Are you Trump supporters still waiting for COVID-19 to magically disappear as your hero promised.

FEB 28

“It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”

— Donald Trump

The whole world now feels sorry for the USA and we can thank Trump for that. 81,000 plus deaths, we can thank Trump for that. Depression coming soon in USA, thanks to Trump for that too.

If Obama were still President the USA would be over with the virus and recovering now. It will have to be Biden next January who cleans up the Trump total disaster.

11 ( +19 / -8 )

Its pretty much irrelevant when the White House Press Association allowed 2 actual Chinese media propagandists into the press briefings they claim to fully control the attendance of.

Maybe the Chinese-American (American-Chinese?) journalist can ask a question that isnt about China if it upsets her so?

-17 ( +5 / -22 )

Im trying to understand what it means to be Asian American.

Then maybe you should ask asian americans that question, instead of airing borderline xenophobic toughts on a comment board?

15 ( +18 / -3 )

Now even republicans are starting to to say that Obama would have handled this more competently than trump.

The rats are starting to desert the sinking ship.

16 ( +21 / -5 )

She is bellicose, arrogant, rude and unprofessional.

and how does running away from tough questions make you any different, the buck stops with the president, for any wartime actions and or emergency responses. Not Chinas fault that Trump bungled the response to a pandemic, if the virus did not originate in China, then it would have been indonesia, Thailand, Africa, Sth AMerica, many countries in the world still run wet markets

12 ( +15 / -3 )

Absolutely true. "Hey Sergei, don't you think Trump is right? Yes Vladimir, he's definitely right"....

Yeah, the Russia thing is just really deflated and debunked now, played out...lol

Now even republicans are starting to to say that Obama would have handled this more competently than trump.

Lol, sure...the Trump hating people, the irrelevant Republicans like Mitt?

-18 ( +2 / -20 )

wow, lets rewrite some history now just to protect China. There is no "if", it originated in China. Wuhan to be exact. I wonder why an American, who came from China when she was 2, is so upset to hear that news today from Trump. Its not like its brand new information.

if the virus did not originate in China, then it would have been indonesia, Thailand, Africa, Sth AMerica, many countries in the world still run wet markets

-19 ( +2 / -21 )

it's a very snarky question

What is not mentioned in the story is that Trump was prominently flanked by a couple of campaign-style propaganda banners claiming "America leads the world in testing". That claim is a) misleading, and b) intended solely to elevate Trump and his "brand". Totally inappropriate during a press briefing during a pandemic.

The reporter's question was entirely appropriate. Trump's response was, as usual, childish.

12 ( +16 / -4 )

Yeah! How dare they ask all those difficult questions?

There's a difference between snarky/petty and difficult. Check a dictionary.

Agreed. The Republicans need to take back the House.

no chance at all, and they are in real danger of losing the senate.

Dream on. The Republicans are not gonna lose the Senate or the White House.

Now even republicans are starting to to say that Obama would have handled this more competently than trump.

Yeah, they would be the RINOS. Still too many of them. Romney's one.

-22 ( +2 / -24 )

Just read the article. What a farce. I can't believe anyone can read the kind of stuff Trump comes out with and still think he has all his faculties intact.

10 ( +14 / -4 )

A spoiled brat.

An archetypal rich kid.

14 ( +18 / -4 )

Also, Trump seems to have no issues with Asian American female reporter Chanel Rion,

So isnt it just the gotcha questions and the disrespectful tone and the screeching voices, not "racism" driving this? This reporter seems to intend to become the female Jim Acosta. Book deal, own TV show on CNN is the goal of her and Acosta both.

If it was racism or sexism, he would dislike Ms. Rion as well, right?

-16 ( +3 / -19 )

The reporter's question was entirely appropriate. Trump's response was, as usual, childish.

I disagree, sniping and throwing in the race component deceptively was sneaky and beneath all journalistic integrity.

can't believe anyone can read the kind of stuff Trump comes out with and still think he has all his faculties intact.

Many of us feel the same about these so called reporters.

-15 ( +3 / -18 )

Just read the article. What a farce.

It's an AP article, what do you expect?

A spoiled brat.

She sure is.

It's so unfortunate that the Republicans are actively willing to let as many die as necessary to ramp up the economy in order to ensure Trump's re-election.

They're trying to ramp up the economy so as to avoid a depression the scale of which would make the coronavirus look like a picnic. Too bad the Democrats aren't on board with this.

-16 ( +3 / -19 )

Another issue framed either or, once again intended to close down discussions, once again having the same poster be the final voice in the thread.

You close down the discussion once you interject race to support a weak argument.

-13 ( +3 / -16 )

The press should be more respectful to the president. He doesn't need to do these press conferences. They never treated Obama with so much disrespect. This is not the first time the press showed their rudeness.

-19 ( +3 / -22 )

Its a legitimate question. Chanel Rion even retweeted about it.

President @realDonaldTrump doesn’t seem to have a problem with @ChanelRion

who is both female and Asian-American, so maybe it has nothing to do with what you are trying to paint and everything to do with their bias attitude & outlets they rep?

Also this specific reporter is the one who pushed the false story that someone in the Trump administration called it the Kung Flu to her face. But never gave a name or any proof.

https://www.businessinsider.com/reporter-says-trump-official-called-coronavirus-the-kung-flu-2020-3

-16 ( +2 / -18 )

Many of us feel the same about these so called reporters.

Same old 'me and the king think' typical of those unable to defend a position, in this case those of their Trump and followers.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Nice attempt to try and bait the Prez into something "racial"

He made it racial, by asking a Chinese reporter to “go ask China” .

He’ll probably try to defend himself in a few days, by saying he was being sarcastic. What a loser !

8 ( +13 / -5 )

Article left out trump quote where he said he wasn't directing it at her, he was directed it to everyone.

-8 ( +4 / -12 )

she is an American, no?

and China isnt a "race".

He made it racial, by asking a Chinese reporter to “go ask China” .

-13 ( +5 / -18 )

The press should be more respectful to the president.

He’s been hostile to any press which doesn’t kiss his backside.

He needs to grow up, grow a pair and understand you reap what you sow.

As I said, a spoiled brat. A pathetic man.

14 ( +17 / -3 )

The press should be more respectful to the president.

HS Truman's birthday was last week. He said something about the heat in the kitchen... But then Truman wasn't a coddled class brat.

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Im not uncomfortable at all. The reporter is American, China is a country (not a race), and China is responsible for what happened.

Why would an American reporter be upset that she was asked to ask China about something China did?

It's understood why most Trump supporters feel uncomfortable whenever race is brought up

-14 ( +3 / -17 )

Same old 'me and the king think' typical of those unable to defend a position,

That goes both ways

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

Im not uncomfortable at all.

Good. America's serious race problems must always be addressed in hopes of eliminating institutional racism and all other problems associate with it.

The reporter is American, China is a country (not a race), and China is responsible for what happened.

That's a perspective. Another is Trump was being racist. And all sorts of perspectives in between.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

HS Truman's birthday was last week. He said something about the heat in the kitchen... But then Truman wasn't a coddled class brat

The last President was, at least by the media.

It's understood why most Trump supporters feel uncomfortable whenever race is brought up.

Not uncomfortable because conservatives and even Trump supporters don’t need to use race to bolster an argument. So when Trump attacks Chris Wallace that makes him what? Racist towards Jewish people? No...wait, his son in law is Jewish as well as his grandkids or if he attacks Chuck Todd that makes him racist towards white people? Liberals know it’s their ace card, so why would they stop using race as a defining issue?

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

The last President was, at least by the media.

Another poster haunted by the spectre of President Obama.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

It’s interesting how Trump dishes it out but can’t take it. When his was promoting birtherism, Obama dealt with it gracefully. When he posted an unflattering photo of Ted Cruz’s wife, Cruz dealt with that gracefully. I would have punched him.

Trump can’t even deal with questions related to his job, never mind the rancid trash he dishes out.

What a pathetic child he is.

14 ( +14 / -0 )

Another poster haunted by the spectre of President Obama

Not haunted, they insulated him, always had, none of the liberal networks ever pushed questioned Obama on any of his so called policies, none, not even follow up questions.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Yes, so find a serious race problem and lets address it, This press conference isnt it.

Every time "racism" is claimed and isnt true, it makes people more numb and less likely to act on actual racism.

Racism is serious. Not some press conference nonsense being pushed for a political media agenda.

Good. America's serious race problems must always be addressed in hopes of eliminating institutional racism and all other problems associate with it.

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

“Sir, why are you saying that to me, specifically?” Jiang asked.

Uh, maybe because you were the one speaking with the president? Duh! No wonder the president called off the meeting!

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

She asked the right question.

He seems scared of women reporters, as do his fans enabling his racism.

The next reporter couldnt ask her questions because the previous one wouldnt stop screaming with her mask off her face.

The CNN reporter decided to let her colleague continue to scream out during her own time, so she lost her question chance.

I've actually watched the clip. Twice.

She's not screaming.

Why do Trump supporters make up stuff?

8 ( +11 / -3 )

SerranoToday 12:46 pm JST

Yeah! How dare they ask all those difficult questions?

There's a difference between snarky/petty and difficult. Check a dictionary.

I am confused what's snarky, petty or even difficult in the question ?

The dude could have simply answered some politically correct pre made stuff, it's important to test as many people as possible to be able able to identify the sicks as soon as possible and provide them with he best possible care and limiting the transmission or whatever ...

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Are you sure you're not a fan of Trump? Because you do talk like one of his supporters.

There we go,,,, mindreading again. So one poster knows better what is in another posters mind, simply because writes something that he disagrees with.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

So when Trump attacks Chris Wallace that makes him what? Racist towards Jewish people? No...wait, his son in law is Jewish as well as his grandkids or if he attacks Chuck Todd that makes him racist towards white people? Liberals know it’s their ace card, so why would they stop using race as a defining issue?

Racism isn't logical. It is irrational.

But this has been explained here dozens of times.

It's the same as Trump saying that nobody loves women more than he does, and then he's off attacking a woman because she asked a question that he couldn't stomach, or criticized him.

It's very disingenous to pretend that the man isn't a sexist bigot.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Also, Trump seems to have no issues with Asian American female reporter Chanel Rion,

There is nothing surprising about Trump having no issues with a "reporter" that is only there to praise and suck up to him. She's as much a journalist as Doctor Doom is a licensed practitioner.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

There we go,,,, mindreading again.

It's an honest question, not mindreading. Because "Russian collusion myth" is a type of vocabulary closely associated with the right wing and Trump supporters, like "lock her up" or "very fine people on both sides".

7 ( +8 / -1 )

He was a coward when he ran from the Vietnam war, he was a coward when he ran for president, and he's an even bigger coward now. He was as much running away from his racist comment to the woman and the fact that women were overpowering him yet again here, as he was running away because he was too scared to honestly address the question. What's amazing is how Conservatives embrace Trump as a "strong man" when he's a weak and gutless coward. THAT is what they are embracing. Perhaps because he shares that commonality with many of them, too.

4 ( +9 / -5 )

Racism isn't logical. It is irrational.

Are liberals and the media aware of this startling revelation?

It's very disingenous to pretend that the man isn't a sexist bigot.

How?

Jiang asked a question that many of us are wondering.

Trump gave his answer.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

Jiang asked a question that many of us are wondering.

@bas4fTrump gave his answer.

And Trump's answer was yet another variation on 'I'm not responsible for that' while pointing fingers of blame away. No question in my mind the virus started in China, but that does not explain away and justify Trump's slow and erratic responses to dealing with it. Covid45's on Trump. As is further dividing the nation

6 ( +8 / -2 )

So-called reporters are those that pretend to serve their country by spending 10 years on a comments section without comprehending what the topic is.

These liberals need a new line of work it seems.

He was a coward when he ran from the Vietnam war, he was a coward when he ran for president, and he's an even bigger coward now.

What does that even mean? If we go by that, the majority of Democrats are cowards for telling people they can’t work and don’t have the guts to tell it to their faces.

He was as much running away from his racist comment to the woman and the fact that women were overpowering him yet again here, as he was running away because he was too scared to honestly address the question.

No, he was totally right about China.

What's amazing is how Conservatives embrace Trump as a "strong man" when he's a weak and gutless coward. THAT is what they are embracing. Perhaps because he shares that commonality with many of them, too.

I think he’s as strong as any man especially dealing with a hostile crazy press briefing reporters, I couldn’t do it, but I at least respect him for knocking them down when they attack him.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

but his policies were essentially reverse racism policies, many of them.

This statement is meaningless and borderline dangerous without an immense amount of data, facts and provable sources to back it up.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

And Trump's answer was yet another variation on 'I'm not responsible for that' while pointing fingers of blame away.

most presidents in some way or form will do the same thing, he wouldn’t be the first.

No question in my mind the virus started in China,

Then we can leave it at that.

but that does not explain away and justify Trump's slow and erratic responses to dealing with it. Covid45's on Trump. As is further dividing the nation.

it’s easily explained, because as he said as China. China is the one that downplayed this or at least downplayed it and made sure that the WHO downplayed and told American officials that the virus wasn’t that bad or that serious or contagious, so then all the other doctors and scientist thought that this virus wasn’t that big of a deal, so yes that would be a slow response given the information that originally came out of China.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

I felt it was quite insulting to the president and she clearly had a chip on her shoulder.

Ah, yes. The woman of color has chip on shoulder trope.

I don’t blame him for walking out because he is the President of the United States and deserves respect if just for the position itself.

He's not a monarch and he doesn't treat people with respect. Asking serious questions is not a mark of disrespect.

If he had any respect, he'd step down, go away and never be heard from again after presiding over 80 thousand deaths.

And certainly you will never see the Chinese president taking such crap.

Probably he'd have the journalist arrested for sedition.

3 ( +9 / -6 )

I just want to remind everyone that z a competent president doesn't allow himself to get rattled by reporters. He is, after all, the most powerful person in the world so shouldn’t be so easy to rattle.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

He's not a monarch and he doesn't treat people with respect. Asking serious questions is not a mark of disrespect.

and the media are not the people that shows or decide what he can or cannot say or can do, the people chose him, if they didn’t he wouldn’t be president, that’s the reason why we have the electoral college, he won that that’s all that matters, if people hate trump that much is pull numbers wouldn’t be anywhere near where they are right now not even close.

If he had any respect, he'd step down, go away and never be heard from again after presiding over 80 thousand deaths.

What? Lol, more liberal wishful thinking.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

that’s the reason why we have the electoral college

The will of the people is the exact opposite of the electoral college.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Back on topic please.

What? Lol, more liberal wishful thinking.

I'm not a liberal but I am concerned, like the journalist was, why is Trump trying to put a nonsensical spin on the deaths of 80 thousand people?

"Ask China" isn't an answer.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

I'm not a liberal but I am concerned, like the journalist was,

Trump answered her already.

why is Trump trying to put a nonsensical spin on the deaths of 80 thousand people?

Why are liberal reporters trying to buy into the Chinese narrative?

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

I find Weijia Jiang immature, selfish, thin skinned and irritating. I would never listen to her if I wanted real news.

You obviously don't lend an ear to Trump then since he can only spout the regurgitated turgid flux of Faux & Friends and OAN gaslighting. Fortunately, we can still tune in to "Democracy Now!" if we want "news" (stuff that approximates reality).

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Not always. There have been four times that the EC did not reflect the popular vote, which demonstrates the will of the people. Since republicans benefited from this three of those four times, they have no issue with it.

That’s our system, it’s not going to change. Again, if Biden wins it, every liberal will stay silent.

Conservatives can’t get their heads around the fact that the popular vote is the number of people that actually support the candidate for whom they vote and that the person who garners the most popular votes has a mandate from the people.

Uh-Huh, but it’s pointless arguing over a system we don’t and thankfully never will have.

Conservatives also think that people in California aren’t really people because they don’t vote for republicans.

Orange county and San Diego county overwhelmingly do, does help.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

Why are liberal reporters trying to buy into the Chinese narrative?

How is reporting on the deaths of 80 thousand American citizens a "Chinese narrative"?

And why are Trump and his right wing hacks trying to spread and enable anti-Chinese sentiment?

Trump answered her already.

He didn't.

That's the whole point.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

How is reporting on the deaths of 80 thousand American citizens a "Chinese narrative"?

The CCP is located in China, they tried to hide it, Chinese officials, they tried to downplay it and not take responsibility for something they created, that should also be the reporters primary focus. We can’t get back the dead, but the CCP is alive and well and we need answers, but unfortunately the liberal media doesn’t want to ask that.

And why are Trump and his right wing hacks trying to spread and enable anti-Chinese sentiment?

He didn’t the race card is the liberals issue to run with, liberals know this.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

trump does not like Nasty Questions, especially when put by female accredited reporters.

Can you imagine what Mrs. trump has to deal with each day.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

A lady reporter asked Trump a tough question, countered him when he gave a rude answer and then he ran off sulking!

I think that sums up it up nicely.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

trump does not like Nasty Questions, especially when put by female accredited reporters.

Can you imagine what Mrs. trump has to deal with each day.

Not true, Trump has been interviewed by plenty of female reporters with impeccable credentials that didn’t ask gotcha questions or entrapment questions or trying to belittle or attack him, that’s the difference.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

The CCP is located in China, they tried to hide it, Chinese officials, they tried to downplay it and not take responsibility for something they created, that should also be the reporters primary focus. We can’t get back the dead, but the CCP is alive and well and we need answers, but unfortunately the liberal media doesn’t want to ask that.

So, Wijia Jiang, asking the PotUS a serious question, is working for China and the CCP?

Is that what you're trying to imply?

Wow.

He didn’t the race card is the liberals issue to run with, liberals know this.

That's not answering the question, though. It's just an automated factory setting reply.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

we need answers, but unfortunately the liberal media doesn’t want to ask that.

And how would reporters at a White House press conference ask questions to the CCP, exactly? Shouldn' the administration be asking questions to the CCP directly? I've seen it point fingers and spout conspiracy theories, but why isn't Trump calling Xi three times a day to get answers then? I, of course, think it's because the China-blaming is simply political gesturing and deflecting from the GOP, on par with their strategy for Trump's reelection. It's just empty words all around.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Can you imagine what Mrs. trump has to deal with each day.

Well, we all know what the first Mrs. Trump had to deal with.

I wonder where his fear/hatred of women stems from?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

When Chinese capitalist communism appears 200% better than USA! Democracy, it is time to invest in Mars real estate.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

So, Wijia Jiang, asking the PotUS a serious question, is working for China and the CCP?

Not sure, she failed to criticize China in any way.

It's just an automated factory setting reply

Like the daily liberal narrative.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Can you imagine what Mrs. trump has to deal with each day.

According to reports she doesn't deal with him at all, they stay as far away from each other as possible.

Like all of his other wives.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

And how would reporters at a White House press conference ask questions to the CCP, exactly?

That’s a very good question since they’re not known for being transparent.

Shouldn' the administration be asking questions to the CCP directly?

They have been, consistently, but they’re not being tr....hey, didn’t we just talk about this?

Trump has been interviewed by plenty of female reporters with impeccable credentials

Sources needed.

The CCP is located in China, they tried to hide it, Chinese officials, they tried to downplay it and not take responsibility for something they created, that should also be the reporters primary focus.

The CCP downplayed Chinese deaths, not American ones.

Trump seems to be close to a mental breakdown. I wonder if it's time to start warming up the 25th amendment?

Trump seems to be close to a mental breakdown.

One things we can be certain of is that he will not be less intelligent than he was before.

Guaranteed that far fewer would have died in the US if the POTUS had been anyone other than Trump. The guy is completely hopeless and only cares about when his golf courses and other buildings can reopen. Many have died because of his typically slow BS response.

Had the CCP not downplayed it then probably many lives could’ve been saved.

They tried that, but his medical reports didn’t reflect anything near that.

Racism from a racist should surprise no one! The shocking part is he is the President of the US.

Could you explain this comment?

I sure did say that, never said I didn’t. I merely said, not every JT person on here was a Democrat or liberal.

Guaranteed that far fewer would have died in the US if the POTUS had been anyone other than Trump.

Yeah, liberals keep saying that, they also said, if you like your doctor you can keep him, what a joke that turned out to be.

The guy is completely hopeless and only cares about when his golf courses

Trump has not been golfing during this crisis, now Obama has been though. People would’ve died if the liberals wouldn’t have politicize this issue.

They have been, consistently,

In the end of March, US and China were "working closely together", according to both presidents. I haven't read anything about the two of them communicating since, and especially not of Trump asking questions to Xi. Do you have sources?

Are you talking about the medical report he dictated himself?

Not sure, she failed to criticize China in any way.

This kind of obfuscation is buying into the narrative of whether some Americans have "loyalties" based elsewhere.

We've seen Trump and his supporters do this with Jewish voters, Muslim politicians and now people of ethnic Chinese heritage.

It's a dangerous game to play, and sad to see it being played out here without condemnation.

Like the daily liberal narrative.

Of course, one can say "liberal" again and again ad nauseum.

However, it still doesn't answer the question why the right wing press are following Trump's lead and stoking up anti-Chinese sentiment.

Which one, we had quite a few?

Well of course not, how would you or I know? But what is certain as two major superpowers, both sides are in constant contact.

Yes, some do.

Yeah, these attacks are not really working anymore. Liberals need to come up with something better..

However, it still doesn't answer the question why the right wing press are following Trump's lead and stoking up anti-Chinese sentiment.

He didn’t, she was, he answered. Now the liberals as usual are trying to stir the pot again.

Well of course not, how would you or I know?

Because these things are all recorded and documented (unless the president expressly doesn't want them to be, like when Trump meets with Putin).

But what is certain as two major superpowers, both sides are in constant contact.

Please provide sources.

I'm not either Republican or Democrat.

I vote for the person who I feel mostly represents

my line of thinking. I didn't like everything Obama

or Bush did and I don't like everything (anything?) Trump is doing.

Reading the comments here, I get a feeling that rather than

looking at what the person in office accomplished, they are supporting

the President BECAUSE he's president.

Just because you voted for him and support the Party doesn't mean

you have to like or agree with EVERYTHING he does.

Its okay sometimes to say I voted for him and agree on these points

but I don't agree with this.

Use your common sense!!

Yes, some do.

And amongst them, any republican who proudly chooses to side with teh Kremlin over Democrats.

No surprise!!

He didn’t, she was, he answered.

What was she?? American??

Trump has not been golfing during this crisis,

I wouldn't want to play golf either if my courses were going bankrupt.
