He still made a profit off of these people.

Good and wise move, to settle quickly private and civil matters. Trump needs to concentrate on the most important public appointment and tasks he is elected to do. Trump is proving to be a focused and pragmatic President so far. He is keeping his word in at least one area that hardly any past Presidents (rich or not so rich) had done; he is not taking the $400,000 per annum salary.

If Ryan is with him the first 10 days are going to be epic.

They could and should have settled for a lot more so that they would get back all their money and at least some for the damage the plaintiffs must have had to endure through all this. Trump sure got away with this fraud of his far more easily than he ought to have.

Is he? He cannot even be paid yet. I couldn't care less about him not taking a $400,000 salary, when he plays fast andcloose with ethics. His business interests will be put into a blind trust and taken care of by his kids, the same kids on the transition team. And he wanta them to have security clearance? And, his son in law may become an unpaid whitehouse aide? How can you Trumpsters not see even just a just small problem with that.

New class action against Trump: bringing humanity into disrepute.

Is he?

If it's true, then credit where it's due, it's a good move on his part. He's claimed he won't take it.

But only time will tell. The guy has a habit of claiming one thing, and doing another. He may very well take the salary. And we may never know about it, as he's notoriously vague about his financial situation.

A billionaire disclaiming a $400K is nice but not much of a virtue, relatively.

All those who are complaining about Trump trying to involve his family members in his administration, and who ignored or defended Bill Clinton doing exactly the same with Hillary back in 1993, raise your hand.

He might as well settle since we are all enrolled in Trump University now.

Trump University was never a university and it appears to have been a fraud from the beginning. It was what is called a degree mill in the educational and legal world. Degree mill operators have gone to prison. Trump not only got of easy but he was coddled until he finally realized it would be better to settle. That this irresponsible and dishonest person will be the next President of the United States ought to at least unsettle the Electoral College.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

For the record Trump has denied seeking security clearance for his family members claiming the request was made by a low-level staffer who is no longer on the team.

I am sure she would have been tough if elected...lol

Bill Clinton Leaves For-Profit College Position

While the company is regarded as one of the better actors in the industry, it is part of a sector that has faced scrutiny for aggressive recruiting practices and for leaving students with unmanageable debt loads. The Obama administration has imposed new policies aimed at tightening oversight of the industry, and Hillary Clinton has indicated that she would be tough on for-profit colleges if elected president.

The great American Dream fraudster becomes POTUS..One sad state of affairs.Trump only has a couple of dozen lawsuits to sort out now.

As an act of good faith, Trump should have returned all of their money. It would have erased the negative headlines about the result. Now he's a president elect who made money off of fraud.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

He doesn't need the money now. He has a lot of other business interests that could benefit from his Presidential policies. Can ya imagine any scenario where he would make a decision that would be detrimental to his business? For example, if some place would need a massive bailout; otherwise, a lot of economic businesses would go south including one of his own - do ya believe he would go against using taxpayer money for that bailout?

(BTW, a blind trust wouldn't work. If he already knows he owns the Trump towers, putting it in a blind trust doesn't make him un-know what he owns. The point of a blind trust is that one doesn't know what's in it - you're blind to what you have a stake in. Knowing what ya have a stake in, even if ya don't control it, would have an effect in your decisions regardless.)

According GOP member and Conservative Mitt Ronney speech, Trump is real Fraud, dishonest and deceitful. Trump used to call Clinton as Crooked Hilary. His mill university students or his financial victims should call him as Crooked Doanld too.

How on this earth, decent and honest American People have elected Con Artist or Fraud as next POTUS?

The for-profit universities were accredited, for better or worse (worse in most cases). If they were not accredited students would not be able to get federal loans. In New York state every school has to be approved by the New York State Board of Regents before it can call a university or college. Trump took no action in that direction, though the Regents warned him.

Note that accreditation is a complex matter which would take pages to explain here. Bottom line was that the for profit universities were officially mandated to operate like nonprofit universities. So-called Trump University did not receive any official mandates.

The for profit universities proved to be failures for the most part, but that is another story.

Trump claimed the judge’s Mexican heritage exposed a bias.

The thousands of former students covered by the San Diego lawsuits will be eligible to receive at least half and possibly all their money back

The bias is being against scammers and frauds........the next US President. Let that sink in.

who ignored or defended Bill Clinton doing exactly the same with Hillary back in 1993, raise your hand.

Back in the time, I was finding it odd that President Hillary would make her hubby do the representarive PR while she was running for office and then ruling. A remake of the film with Ivanka-Jared in the driver's seat is not a good idea at all.

Trump has denied seeking security clearance

Is there something he has not denied ?

one area that hardly any past Presidents (rich or not so rich) had done;

Very likely he is the first prez to owe to tax office more than 8 yrs of POTUS salary. So all of his salary would be retain no ?

He may very well take the salary.

Even if he doesn't, his White House stint will cost much more in bling expenses than the 12 last POTUS all together.

Money or justice? Um ... money.

Harry_Gatto: For the record Trump has denied seeking security clearance for his family members claiming the request was made by a low-level staffer who is no longer on the team.

I actually don't mind if a President wants to bring in family members to help out, as long as they don't screw up.

When Bill brought in Hillary, almost immediately she embarked on what became two scandals and one major screwup: Filegate, Travelgate, and Hillarycare (aka "Clinton health plan of 1993": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Clinton_administration_controversies).

And they SHOULD have clearances. Remember the last Secretary of State we had with no security training? How did that go? Remote server with administration (let alone access!) passing through multiple uncleared and untrained hands, and multiple accesses by hostile actors.
