What's funny is that Trump likes to point out that it's the blue states that have the highest number of Corona Virus related deaths, while not realizing that these states also happen to have the highest populations, like New York and California.

Actually, while NY is through the roof, California is very low. But I agree, you should not draw a direct line between state government and Corona death rates. Including the claim that the Republican states are doing worst. Again: It is just a small cluster of states that pulls the average so high up. You can see a graph here:

Um, the Republicans were just late to the game. Here in Arizona we had to have a massive spike before the GOP started to even act. Now that they are following Democrat guidelines we are seeing a fall.

That narrative does not pass a reality check. If you look at the death rates per state, which vary widely, you see that it is only a couple of states that have astronomical numbers wich pull the average up: NY, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusets. Most other states, typically the Republican ones with more relaxed rules, have very low numbers.

You can quibble about how much correlation is causation, but the claim that the democrat promoted lockdowns help does NOT fit reality.

Recently a man who died in a motorcycle accident in Florida had his cause of death listed as COVID 19, because he had tested positive for the virus. And his case is far from unique.

COVID positive people who have died from heart attacks, strokes, and complications from cancer have had their cause of death as COVID 19. Then there is the fact that doctors can list COVID 19 as the cause of death in people who have not been tested for the virus and f they “suspect” the patient had the virus. As the federal government is subsidizing the treatment of COVID patients, doctors have a monetary incentive to classify deaths as COVID 19.

According to the CDC, 93% of COVID 19 victims had 2.1 “co-morbidities,” that is, they had 2.1 other life-threatening illnesses which increased their risk of death. 6% of victims died solely from COVID 19.

More than half of US victims were in nursing homes, most of the rest were diabetics, the obese, etc.
