We can't forget how difficult it was for the Irish to integrate into society. Trump and Vance's misleading claims of Haitians eating people's pets takes away attention that should be spent on trying to work on ways to solve the immigration problem, such as offering education to these immigrants, driving lessons, etc.

Not at all. They are already in the country and contributing to the economy in a positive way. Allowing them to become a citizen helps them and America.

In that same post, Trump also pledged that he would “get SALT back,” suggesting he would eliminate a cap on state and local tax deductions that were part of tax cut legislation he signed into law in 2017.

Trump pledged many things in 2016 as well, yet the only two things he really made good on his promises were to overturn Roe v. Wade, and cut taxes for the wealthy. He even pledged he would introduce an infrastructure bill, which Biden did sign and has done well in improving roads, bridges, etc. So, looking at what Trump has done, we can safely assume more along those lines from him.

This is one issue where more people agree with him than with her. Harris had better treat this issue very carefully.

I understand that immigration is not simple. Yes, there will be a very small percentage of them who will commit crimes. Yet, it is no different than normal American citizens. In fact, I'd wager that there are more American citizens born and raised in the U.S. who have committed crimes. Also, we have to look at sometimes why a crime was committed. Was it because they haven't gotten used to the life in America? Do they completely understand the laws and culture of the area? Do they know how to drive properly? I bet proper education would help solve several of these problems. Republicans just don't want to do the work and to them the easiest way is to just deport all of them.

Also, they are not "flooding our borders" as Trump would have you believe. Currently, the net-flow of migration stands at 0.3% of the total population, which is in line with historical numbers.
