Former President Donald Trump is going to the Supreme Court, again, this time to try to stop his tax returns from being handed to a congressional committee.

The tax return, the Wall, a prosperous economy for all, the bestest health care plan in the world: It has been a long list of unfulfilled promises for Trump. And now he wants 4 more years to do these things?

Delay, delay, delay. SOP for the ex-Prez.

Having been rejected at the circuit and the court of appeals, Don the con is highly UNLIKELY in this transparent attempt to defeat transparency.

The law is very clear: “Shall provide”, not “shall provide if we agree.”

Its all coming out and Don will be revealed to be the tax cheat we all know he is.

Boy, that ‘audit’ sure is taking a long time.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

The only plausible reason to hide these documents is that he’s a cheat. Which has been painfully obvious for decades.

And yeah, I know what the retort will be here. “If he’s a crook why isn’t he in prison?” Answer: because rich crooks always take longer to fall. In the case of Trump, he floods the court system with appeals, countersuits, and other distractions that delay, delay, delay.

Trump honestly believes that the Supreme Court is his. What a deranged narcissist.

The only plausible reason to hide these documents is that he’s a cheat. Which has been painfully obvious for decades.

Can you prove it?

And yeah, I know what the retort will be here. “If he’s a crook why isn’t he in prison?”

Yup!

Answer: because rich crooks always take longer to fall.

Now Plastic, remember your words, they just might come back to haunt you. I’m making a not and keeping that one, I’m sure it’s going to live in infamy. ROFL

In the case of Trump, he floods the court system with appeals, countersuits, and other distractions that delay, delay, delay.

Given the Dems history and the bloodlust they have for the guy, I would do the same if I was in the guys position.

Why? I am not a crook.

I wasn't referring to you personally.

No idea what you're talking about.

No, but next year you will.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

If that is indeed the case. I wish the left would ask for medical detailed records of their candidates in the same way they are asking for Trump's taxes

You mean like the one tipsy ronnie gave for donald, declaring that he would live for 200 years!

Hmmm...

Hmmm indeed , how desperate for money one has to be to bury the wife in a gold course and claim tax benefits!

Former President Donald Trump is going to the Supreme Court, again, this time to try to stop his tax returns from being handed to a congressional committee.

Completely normal behavior that is well within the rights of US citizens.

After President Joe Biden took office, the committee renewed the request, seeking Trump’s tax returns and additional information from 2015-2020.

Witch hunt.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Not only are we going to learn that Trump is a tax cheat (we already know this - Thanks NYT!), we’re going to learn that Trump is a lousy businessman who underperformed in every industry.

To be fair, this is also known but the reinforcement will be fun.

Of the doctor that said Biden is fit and has zero cognitive impairments? 54 States...???

Err emm, revolutionary war airports!!!

Desperate? How again is a "public servant" like Biden a Multi-millionaire?

By working hard! You should try it too!

Mnuchin argued that he could withhold the documents because he concluded they were being sought by Democrats for partisan reasons.

I've noticed that the MAGA crowd have adopted many styles of expression similar to their Great Leader.

Many visible here.

Non sequitur, obfuscation, illogical exclamations and false equivalences.

It is a useful delaying tactic which Trump et al deploy often.

And which lib was that?

? Are you a "lib"?

And yeah, I know what the retort will be here. “If he’s a crook why isn’t he in prison?”

Yup!

Could you square this with "lock her up"? Spoilers: you can't.

Trump taxes again....year 6 of this?

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Witch hunt.

The "Party of Law and Order" once again saying that investigating crime is bad. Shocker.

Trump taxes again....year 6 of this?

You're never gonna believe this, but: sometimes things take time.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

how do you know there is crime already?

dont you need the tax returns to try to find crime?

find me a man, I will find you a crime. its just takes time, right?.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Witch hunt.

Bingo!

The "Party of Law and Order" once again saying that investigating crime is bad. Shocker.

When the Republicans take control next week I hope you will have that same devotion.

You're never gonna believe this, but: sometimes things take time.

Yeah, sure….

Could you square this with "lock her up"? Spoilers: you can't.

Give it another week…

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

dont you need the tax returns to try to find crime?

Yes. So if no crime has been committed, your tax returns would prove it.

Do you know what evidence is, and how it works?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Yes. So if no crime has been committed, your tax returns would prove it.

doesnt someone have to prove you committed a crime first?

why are you starting out with the assumption that a tax related crime was committed that needs to be disproven?

Oh yeah, Trump. Witch Hunt.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

doesnt someone have to prove you committed a crime first?

Yes. so if you can present evidence that would disprove the accusation, you'd be in the clear. If the evidence confirmed that you had committed a crime, I suppose one might try to keep that evidence hidden. Hm. I wonder if that tracks with this story.

why are you starting out with the assumption that a tax related crime was committed that needs to be disproven?

I'm not.

Oh yeah, Trump. Witch Hunt.

There's a huge difference between Trump and witches. Witches are cool.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Yes. so if you can present evidence that would disprove the accusation, you'd be in the clear.

there has to be some basis for the initial accusation. which there is not, other than partisan politics.

what do they expect to find? they cant even say.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

When the Republicans take control next week I hope you will have that same devotion.

The GOP doesn't even have control of its senses, so quit the fantasies of them controlling anything!

Witches are “women” and Trump is a man.

Don't be too sure of that!

Summed up this administration in a nutshell, bravo!

ROFL, it sums up the lack of the bigoted right wing thinking!!!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Yes. So if no crime has been committed, your tax returns would prove it.

Bingo!

Do you know what evidence is, and how it works?

This bunch has no clue how anything works, fantasies are what keeps them running!

That is not how the US legal system works.

ROFL, it sums up the lack of the bigoted right wing thinking!!!

What is bigoted about this tax return issue?

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

there has to be some basis for the initial accusation. which there is not, other than partisan politics.

There is a basis. The government noticed numerous discrepancies in his tax filings, which have been confirmed, multiple times, by courts. Are discrepancies a crime? Not necessarily. Sometimes people make mistakes. We all do. But if you’re consistently misrepresenting yourself to Uncle Sam in a way that benefits you, it looks less and less like a mistake.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

--No idea what you're talking about.

No, but next year you will.

Oh, right. Gym Jordan again. Remember, the House judiciary committee has to have something or someone specific to investigate. There has to be smoke. They can't just investigate "the left".

Why do you view justice as simply a team sport?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Ahhh, but that’s not what all the polls are saying.

Do they polls on the mental health of bigots?

I am, I’m not woke, I follow the science.

Which science is that?

How, you have some magic wand to change next weeks crushing defeat?

The voters have the wand and the bigots will be really really disappointed!

3 ( +3 / -0 )

What is this clown hiding?

And the trumpybeliever sheep defending him, what a losers, loooool !!..

1 ( +2 / -1 )

But if you’re consistently misrepresenting yourself to Uncle Sam in a way that benefits you, it looks less and less like a mistake.

The IRS accepted all the returns. Why would Congress need to be involved in this?

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

The IRS accepted all the returns. Why would Congress need to be involved in this?

But but but donald said he is under audit!!!!

So which one is it, you can’t have both you know!!!

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The IRS accepted all the returns. Why would Congress need to be involved in this?

You’re never gonna believe this, but; Congress is a co-equal branch of government.
