I'm sure it will be as great as the F-35! (The F-35 cost over 1 trillion and is garbage).

Seemed to pretty good at flying through Iran's defenses like paper.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, speaking alongside Trump, said the new aircraft "sends a very direct, clear message to our allies that we're not going anywhere, and to our enemies that... we will be able to project power around the globe unimpeded for generations to come."

Message would be a lot clearer if you weren't actually retreating from Japan, Europe, Syria, etc. etc.

Funny, if that were true, our adversaries wouldn’t fear it and our allies wouldn’t want it.

As of March 2025, fourteen countries have partnered with the United States in the F-35 Lightning II program. These nations include Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Israel, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.

The United States leads in F-35 deployment, with 553 active aircraft and an additional 1,855 on order. Other notable operators include Australia with 63 active jets and 37 on order, South Korea with 40 active and 25 on order, and Norway with 40 active and 12 on order.

Hardly garbage. Anyway, can’t wait for this new bad boys premiere!!!!

And that is incorrect. Partner nations shared the cost of developing the F-35 out of their national budgets, participated in the development program and share production. There is one Tier 1 Partner, the UK. There are two Tier 2 Partners, Italy and Netherlands. Italy also hosts the only final assembly line outside the US. There are three Tier 3 Partners, Australia, Canada and Denmark.

Those are the only nations who were involved in the F-35's development. The rest are just Foreign Military Sales customers and not partners in the program. Israel and Singapore later on joined as so-called Security Partners but there are not part of the development team and didn't fund the program. They just have a bit higher access to the programming labs necessary for the aircraft to operate. Turkiye was originally one of the partner nations with significant component assembly assigned to its industry but they were kicked out of the program for buying an S-400 air defense system from Russia. Their part of the assembly process was moved to the US.

I'm sure it will be as great as the F-35! (The F-35 cost over 1 trillion and is garbage).

The current flyaway cost of an F-35A is $82.5 million. Flyaway cost of an F-35B (VSTOL variant) is $109 million and the flyaway cost of the F-35C ( CATOBAR carrier based version ) is $102.1 million.

A Dassault Rafale has a flyaway of upwards of $125 million and the Typhoon's flyaway is $124 million. An F-15EX goes for about $97 million.

The giant ego must be fed. Naming a jet fighter F-47 is like a vanity plate on his limousine. What a crock ...

The program has been flying X-planes—experimental aircraft meant to prove out design and technological elements—since 2020 and is expected to fly the F-47 by the end of Trump's term in early 2029, Air Force Chief of StaffGeneral David Allvin said.

If it’s so good, why doesn’t China show it to the world? Behind China? Why is it that their planes look so much like ours? Also, their pilots haven’t seen military combat since…..

You’re only as good as you are if you put in the time, sweat and tears.
