mukashiyokatta - The entire world already knew outgoing-President Trump is a Russian agent

"The entire world"? Really? Have you questioned "the entire world" about this issue? I doubt that the entire world cares about any Trump/Russian non-connection.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Blast away - it just makes you look guiltier. For a sitting leader of any country to be asked - on the basis of a large amount of evidence - whether he is working as a covert agent for a foreign power is beyond the pale. The fact that there are no records of his private conversations with the leader of that country, written or otherwise, in the hands of the US govt because he has made every effort to conceal them speak to his culpability. Tick, tock...

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

The entire world already knew outgoing-President Trump is a Russian agent -- that is where he got his money from when he was BANKRUPT.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

So... the FBI let a Russian agent be the president of the U.S.! Inexcusable!

If the FBI can do this to a sitting president then they can do this to ANYONE.

Sorry but I don’t appreciate the FBI investigating people simply because you have the wrong political ideas. Really, really bad. Super dangerous stuff.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

The worst scenario that might have happened to the US is that Trump, a ruthless and immoral businessman, sought to work for the Russian counterparts for his own interests since the 1990s. Trump's decision to withdraw US troops from Syria and plan to weaken the strength of NATO compromising the leadership role of the US might be exactly what Putin would want when granting Trump a hand kiss before Trump became the US President.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Ulysses - What is interesting is that the Trumpets are more concerned about their dear leader not getting impeached, than about him possibly having sold out their own country.

What kind of hate makes you care more about an immoral leader than your country????

If only you had some actual evidence, actual evidence not innuendo, or rumors, or selective leaks, or feelings,  or wishes, you might be able to make an actual case for impeachment to the U.S. House. In the mean time, you'll just have to make claims that you do, and hope that you guessed correctly.

"Trump is the only president in history who calls the truth a lie, and a lie the truth."

Unlike his predecessors, Donald Trump has exposed the nation's mainstream media for the propaganda machine it has become.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

The Russian collusion production was put in place to divert attention away from the criminal conduct of Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party.

Ya guys realize if ya believe this story, ya believe the NY Times

Apparently Trump believes the NY Times

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I’m surprised that liberals believe this junk.

And what if Republicans turn against Trump? Trump is looking very weak in this area.

@bass4funk

Yes, he did and there was nothing wrong or illegal with it. Remember Trump was back then a candidate and NOT the President of the US. As such, he had every right to explore other economic business options

President Trump, May 2017, NBC interview: "I have had dealings over the years where I sold a house to a very wealthy Russian many years ago. I had the Miss Universe pageant — which I owned for quite a while — I had it in Moscow a long time ago. But other than that, I have nothing to do with Russia"

You're saying there's nothing wrong with the President lying about his actual Russia links in an interview broadcast to the American public.

With the Crazytown presidency, there's been a consistent pattern of angry denial followed eventually by reluctant admission when the evidence emerges either through investigation by law enforcement or investigation by journalists (e.g., Russia meeting in Trump Tower). Most allegations have turned out to be true. Others haven't been confirmed yet. Give them time.

And that all leaves a huge amount of room for illegality, especially as Trump's temperament, character, and history are the very opposite of a guarantee.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

What? Lol

I can explain in simple English, the language can be tricky for those with limited education.

The economy is not like a slot machine, if you put in a coin you dont get instant results.

Economic policies bear fruit over a period of time, both short and long term. So what Obama did might show results in Trump's Presidency.

I am glad you read Forbes. Reading might not make you a President in America, but it will always make you smart. The article(if you read it) deals with the first 2.5 years of Obama's rule. So it actually proves my point.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Yes, he did and there was nothing wrong or illegal with it. Remember Trump was back then a candidate and NOT the President of the US. As such, he had every right to explore other economic business options Good luck with that in court, that is, if you don’t get laughed at.

Another Trumper trope - and an inaccurate one - "Sure, he's a filthy, disgusting pervert and swindler, but that isn't a crime..."

Wonder why he won't release his tax returns?  Maybe it's full of Russian investments from Putin and his oligarchs?  Foreign contacts that he must report?

Not to worry, Mueller will lay it all out - just like he did with John Gotti...with the same result...

0 ( +2 / -2 )

It would be a lot easier to make a list of people who are around Trump who haven't lied about their contacts with Russia.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Oh, I see. So, that must be why Trump lied about his connections to Russia? :-)

I’m surprised that liberals believe this junk.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Yes, he did and there was nothing wrong or illegal with it.

Oh, I see. So, that must be why Trump lied about his connections to Russia? :-)

3 ( +4 / -1 )

It's a very low low action from the FBI and it was unnecessary. It's becoming personal. Obviously, the FBI was biased and pro-Democrat.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

LOL! Worst President ever!

Donald Dump: Asked if is or has ever been working for Russia.

> Dump replied: "I think it's the most insulting thing I've ever been asked. I think it's the most insulting article I've ever had written, and if you read the article you'll see that they found absolutely nothing."

Notice Dump did not deny working for Russia -- he only said that investigators had "found nothing".

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Economic growth is a result of policies over a long period, so Trump might have Obama to thank for some of the growth. Tax cuts might result in growth in the short term but they might bite in longer term. So Trump's successor might suffer the results of poorly though policies.

What? Lol

The breakdown.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/louiswoodhill/2011/08/31/obama-a-bad-economic-president-consider-it-proved/#2595d84e7d7b

He was by his own admission negotiating with the Russians to build a hotel in Moscow during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Yes, he did and there was nothing wrong or illegal with it. Remember Trump was back then a candidate and NOT the President of the US. As such, he had every right to explore other economic business options Good luck with that in court, that is, if you don’t get laughed at.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Trump logic !

LIE

DEFLECT

DENY!

4 ( +5 / -1 )

He was by his own admission negotiating with the Russians to build a hotel in Moscow during the 2016 presidential campaign. His campaign chairman is now in jail awaiting sentencing on influence-peddling charges, which his former national security advisor has also been convicted of. How stupid do you have to be to be unable to connect the dots on this?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Ok, so the Americans liberals don’t have an answer and the Europeans don’t have any answers either or even specific detailed ones, not surprised. All the more reason to support the President.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

how are the Democrats blocking the incursions, how do they care about border security and how do they apply that they care about the flow of drugs coming in or the caravans and gangs like MS-13

Already asked and answered, then ignored by you.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

So on the one hand, Democrats voted for a border wall,

Yes

but on the other hand, they do nothing? This makes a lot of sense. I see why you're a Donny fan, well put. :-

What have they done since 2013? Be specific and, so how does it makes sense, they’re for border security, but do nothing.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

apparently not since they don’t care about border security.

So on the one hand, Democrats voted for a border wall, but on the other hand, they do nothing? This makes a lot of sense. I see why you're a Donny fan, well put. :-)

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Part time. You also grew up in Germany

Never said anything about the UK...

but I think winter season residents from northern states and Canada would have much more experience than you do.

I care more about the REAL crime coming from our southern borders, Democrats say they care, but they do nothing, are they in bed with the cartels, they don’t care about the illegals coming in....apparently not since they don’t care about border security.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

No one had a GDP under 3% either.

Hilarious, its means Trump might be a criminal, traitor but because the GDP was above 3% we should forget all that. Pablo Escobar used to imply something similar during the time he virtually controlled Columbia.

Facts might not be easily accessible for the poorly educated, so let me burst the 'Economic Growth' bubble.

Economic growth is a result of policies over a long period, so Trump might have Obama to thank for some of the growth. Tax cuts might result in growth in the short term but they might bite in longer term. So Trump's successor might suffer the results of poorly though policies.

Unemployment rates has been steadily declining since a major part of Obama's term, so Trump claiming all credit is not totally accurate .

Job growth was again happening under Obama with 2015 being the high point. So again Obama to thank for.

However federal deficit will touch $ 1 trillion, compared to $ 666 million in Obama's last budget.

Also Trade deficit & inflation are showing unhealthy trends, so lots to worry about.

To summarize because facts are difficult to comprehend for those who lack higher education, sure economy has grown but all credit is not due to Trump.

However all credit for Russia collusion, lying to feds etc etc can be fully credited to Trump.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Of course he loves Democrats as well.

Good on you for admitting Democrats aren't dumb, like Donny's base.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

bass: I grew up in California

Part time. You also grew up in Germany and the UK so you were obviously gone a lot, and you said you avoid Cali like the plague since you can't stand what it's become. So thanks for your "experience" as it relates to the wall, but I think winter season residents from northern states and Canada would have much more experience than you do.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Yes, corrupt as heck, but unlike Trump he didn’t create an empire, build casinos, golf courses, create a lot of wealth, has his own jet and helicopter created jobs, had a successful 14 year TV show, destroy, making millions beating out 17 Washington establishment rhino Republicans, flame broiled the most corrupt female Democrat, became President, being attacked by a bias media and rambling Washington elite snobby socialists.

Lolololol Donny never built a thing. All he ever had he inherited. All he ever tried to be turned to nothing. How dumb do you have to be to bankrupt a casino?

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Remembers folks, Donny loves the poorly educated

Of course he loves Democrats as well.

Comey was a career civil servant.

But yeah, Comey is a civil servant, corrupt as heck, but servent....

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

never liked Comey; I thought he was a weak government bureaucrat goof, like most, who only had his own self interest at heart.

Comey was a career civil servant. Trump is a career huckster. I sniveling, lying, cheating, adultering fraud. I can see why you wouldn't like the FBI for looking into him.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

I never liked Comey; I thought he was a weak government bureaucrat goof, like most, who only had his own self interest at heart.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Democrats don’t like about border security

Yes they do.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

But What About - and no one in the Obama administration was indicted, let alone convicted.

No one had a GDP under 3% either.

The one constant of all Trumpers - they're afraid...

I keep forgetting, Democrats don’t like about border security, so why should they care.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Not really, it’s just watching 1998 all over again, it’s funny, but really not. Be happy when this idiot issues his report, the Democrats make a lot of drama, slug ourselves through the hearings watch CNN and msnbc try their best to chum up the waters, impeach him, watch the Democrats fall in shock when the Republicans do nothing, more media hysteria meltdown, lots of crying and blowing noses, more deforestation to keep up with the demands and when the fog has cleared and everyone stop jumping off cliffs and a sense of normalcy reigns over liberals, they can let the President get back to work.

This is called hoping and praying...

Mueller took down John Gotti - he knows mobsters, and the Trump crime family is next...

Melania is going to be busy visiting Donnie, Donnie Jr, Eric, Jared, and likely Ivanka at Mar-A Lockup...

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Just the indictments and convictions already secured, and the strong possibility that Donald Trump Jr, who unlike the president has no immunity whatsoever, will also be indicted, with Jared Kushner looking decidedly vulnerable as well.

Thank God for Presidential pardons.

It must be so baffling to you that Mueller didn't put all his cards on the table at once, and that he has been too discreet to have regular press conferences and to post his minute to minute musings on Twitter. But it's a mistake to assume that he doesn't know what he's doing, doesn't know how to accumulate evidence, doesn't possess the virtue of patience, and doesn't know who to start with before going directly at a President.

Actually, I don’t spend time on Mueller, I already can see how this will end. I’ll give you a spoiler alert, won’t be with him being removed from office.

Considering your admiration for Trump, it's not surprising that you have no understanding of competence, subtlety, and discretion, and assume that character assassination is all it takes to make the whole thing go away.

That’s why I would never vote for a Democrat.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

You made a very serious statement in regards to someone whom holds the office of the President of the United States of America, and then followed it up with a ROFL.

Not really, it’s just watching 1998 all over again, it’s funny, but really not. -3 ( +2 / -5 )

Mueller? Mueller? Mueller?

Oh, he's still on the witch hunt.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

He lied about his previous business finances, now he’s in serious jeopardy! ROFL!

You made a very serious statement in regards to someone whom holds the office of the President of the United States of America, and then followed it up with a ROFL.

Weird.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Lolz Trumpeters whining about wasting millions on an investigation, whilst pleading for their stupid wall. News flash Trumpies, the special counsel had brought in more money than they've spent.

Trump is not trying to illegally break into the US nor is he bringing in drugs or works as a coyote. Trump is not trying to come through our pourous wall and is a gang member or killing people. Secured borders can keep the country safe, wasting millions on an investigation won’t make you safer or give you better job security or keep you from being shot.

Lolz I love the desperation in your post. Finally realizing you bought a lemon now, eh? Unfortunately for you the investigation is just getting started. ;-)

Ok and then?

Let's see: Trump was the target of CI. Lied about trying to build a property in Russia, and confiscated the notes from the interpreter for his private meeting with Putin. Big nothing burger. ;)

Omg! He lied about his previous business finances, now he’s in serious jeopardy! ROFL!

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

The frequent use of words like "traitor" and "patriot" are hallmarks of fascist ideologies.

They are also the hallmarks of situations in which there are traitors; by definition, not patriots.

The frequent use of terms like 'witch hunt' are also hallmarks of fascist ideologies.

Ask yourself what other countries use these words. They are not places one wants to be associated with.

This is what the election of Trump has brought America to, and exactly why electing him was about the dumbest thing the people of America have done in their entire history. It's ripping their country apart from the middle, while at the same time it withdraws from the world.

More than anything, the use fo these words in the USA mark its decline.

Agreed.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

People simply rarely use such words in healthy. democracies.

Heads of states and their cronies do not collude with hostile countries in healthy democracies.

Racists dont get elected to office in healthy democracies.

Free press is not branded as the 'Enemy' in healthy democracies.

I can go on.......

3 ( +5 / -2 )

witch hunt and still nothing. Lol

I wouldn't call it a witch-hunt, more like a traitor hunt

By the way, George Washington was widely branded as a traitor.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

I wouldn't call it a witch-hunt, more like a traitor hunt and looks like we've trapped one.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Yeah, this witch hunt really is absurd, isn't it, Stranger? Check out my H A Goodman link.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

So is Mueller going to be doing this investigation 20 years from now?

Why so absurd bro?

Lolz Trumpeters whining about wasting millions on an investigation, whilst pleading for their stupid wall. News flash Trumpies, the special counsel had brought in more money than they've spent.

Sad part is most people have outsourced thier thinking to the media and actually believe there was "collusion". Give up guys, if you had anything, you would have impeached him by now.

Lolz I love the desperation in your post. Finally realizing you bought a lemon now, eh? Unfortunately for you the investigation is just getting started. ;-)

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The target may be at the wrong country...

FYI - Trump is much closer to Israel...

But then because Israel is an ally.., may be he does not get investigated...

In any case these accusations and investigations targeted by FBI and used and talked about in the media may be also off the mark..

Who is investigating IBM, Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Amazon, Twitter..? and now the 5G related companies like Qualcomm, AT&T, HP and all those corporations that have operations all over the world.., and have direct access to ? almost everything related government and government employees..? That is besides Boeing and Lockeed and other military related companies that probably are being constantly being monitored.

Interestingly we don't hear much about them...

Certainly Facebook with the CEO's wife being Chinese and doing direct business with Chinese factories for her business could be of concern..?

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

That it? That's all you have to say? There are many good Republican candidates out there.

None that the majority of Republican voters want and Romney especially, if Hey Siri tent is to try to redeem himself from his disastrous defeat last time with Obama, he is just wasting his time. He’s going to be another casualty just like Hillary, just like Jeb and just like Kasich. It’s not going to happen. The days of the Washington Republicans are pretty much behind us.

Why do you keep trying to defend the Indefensible? He lies to you everyday.

I wouldn’t call them exactly like this, I will call them more exaggerations and by the way, have you ever notice that he could be also trolling the Democrats and the media, did it ever come across your mind, Trump likes to fight and he likes to egg people on and I don’t blame him. They like to antagonize him and he likes to do the same. But for some reason liberals don’t think about that, there’s always a method and a reason to the madness.

Its a fact most of the people around him to include his kids are participating in unethical behavior.....,

And at the same time none of you guys said anything about the unethical behaviors of the last administration that is so hysterical.

His success on the economy and job market had a strong foundation.... I mean It wasn't like he had a $trillion deficit (from a surplus), 10% unemployment rate and a great recession to work with... but, admittedly he has improved on a 5% unemployment rate he inherited (a good foundation no?) to 4 or 3%

Inherited? The previous president didn’t get a GDP above 3% Preside over the slowest economy, lackluster performance it was abysmal when it came to creating jobs in the private sector.

So what could trump possibly promise you that other republican candidates could not? What makes you defend a liar, what makes you believe anything he says?

I just explained to you, I feel that the Democrats are 1000 times worse and to be frank, I don’t hold much stock in what the Republicans say either, I never said Trump is the most honest person on the planet, he’s human and I get it, but compared to the crazies in Washington, the old order....Trump doesn’t even come close.

Is it Keeping America safe from the "criminal" immigrants from crossing the border by building a wall? Banning Muslims from specific countries because they are terrorist? Or acknowledging white supremist are good people ... (after one mowed down protesters). Maybe its his unprecedent diplomatic skills with Russia? Or… Is the real reason because he is addressing your fears...? if so...… WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF?

I grew up in California and I have been to Mexico more than 18 times and I know how the border is and unless you grew up near there in or around the OC or San Diego area the crime that has been perpetrated by many illegal aliens and murdered by them not one in the liberal media ever talks about that, no one ever mentions these peoples names, the media has always taken a one-sided prismatic and opinionated view of what’s going on when it comes to the border, and I am sick of it. The media takes everything out of context intentionally, they did it with Charlottesville, it’s the same when liberals say that BLM or Antifa are all nice and decent people. Nothing what these organizations do is peaceful, I don’t see these groups any different then the KKK. They are all scum and should be shunned. The only thing that I’m afraid of is that the Democrats right now do not care at all about secure borders or even wanting to close the borders, they talk a good game, but that’s it. That’s what I’m afraid of.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

It's looking more and more likely that the president of the United States has committed some sort of crime to some degree and most in the GOP agree.

Not to the extent of impeachment where the president would be removed and not even close even getting 2/3 needed to remove him. They may think that there could be some things from his business dealings, but not as president and nothing to the point of him being incarcerated.

The Trump campaign likely violated campaign finance laws when Donald Trump's former fixer, Michael Cohen, arranged for secret payments to Trump's alleged mistresses.

If that’s all they have then the President should be smiling from ear to hear. Really!

Robert Mueller has other threads to pull on as well, including the many lies told by Trump associates to both Congress and law enforcement and ties between the Trump Organization and the Russian government during the 2016 campaign, which we know more about thanks to court filings made by Mueller's team.

I get it, but again it’s not even close enough to have the president removed, you can impeach the president and I understand for the Democrats it would be symbolic, but that’s about it.

Bass there's no definitive proof that Trump himself is a criminal but, he sure seems to have been surrounded by people who later either got indicted or convicted of wrongdoing.

I wouldn’t disagree, in fact I would say, he’s too trusting of people, I think that’s one of his biggest downfalls, case in point, Michael Cohen. Never liked the guy and always felt he was on the shady side.

The witch hunt is over? Really? Wrong doing has been proven. With no end in sight.

At least Nixon stepped down for the good of the country.

But yes you will argue, he is doing a good job as President am I right?

For now the GOP is behind Trump. But that could change overnight.

I do think that the president is doing its job, and I think the president could do a lot better if the media weren’t so bias, CNN had more than 12 negative stories on Trump and they are so consumed with hate and so consumed with attacking the president anything and to delegitimize him whenever they can, that’s the only thing these networks care about.

Congress should subpoena those notes. The American people have a right to know.

This is what the shutdown is all about folks!

LOL! Worst President in American History! And the first traitor! Hahaha!

@ M3M3M3

Suspicious to what end? Will you at least acknowledge that as a matter of law there would be nothing illegal in doing any of the things you mention above? Nor would it be illegal for Trump to suddenly declare tomorrow that Vladimir Putin is the greatest leader in living memory and that he will be installing a direct line to the Kremlin in the Oval office to seek Putin's advice on a daily basis? I get the feeling that the great majority of people on these threads fail to realise this.

Riiight! Nothing Illegal. You are Trumps lawyer now? Many Mafia members get off on a "Technicality", even though its obvious they pulled the trigger... I notice this is often the fall back position of many trump supporters, and Faux news channel commentators. Why is that?

Bass there's no definitive proof that Trump himself is a criminal but, he sure seems to have been surrounded by people who later either got indicted or convicted of wrongdoing.

The witch hunt is over? Really? Wrong doing has been proven. With no end in sight.

At least Nixon stepped down for the good of the country.

But yes you will argue, he is doing a good job as President am I right?

For now the GOP is behind Trump. But that could change overnight!

Will you at least acknowledge that as a matter of law there would be nothing illegal in doing any of the things you mention above?

And make a determination upon something that I’m not qualified to make a determination upon?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

I hope trump is just lacking the ability to realize that his actions looks suspicious, and that’s all it is. I fear trump may be serving Putin’s interests without even realizing it

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

@Strange.

Stepping back andthinking like Trump? What? I dare not even try. LOL But I see your point and understand it.

Could be a ruse of smoke and mirrors. But when Reagan and Gorbachev had a bromance, maybe bromance is a bad choice of words here. But a look back. Reagan frightened the Soviet Union into submission. Legend has it. Reagan came into office, dramatically hiked defense spending, unveiled the Strategic Defense Initiative (his "Star Wars" missile shield), and aided anti-communist rebels in the Third World. Unable to keep pace, the Kremlin chose Gorbachev, who threw in the towel. Maybe during these meetings Trump is trying to do the same thing with Putin one on one. But yes, I know what you’re thinking. Highly unlikely. Maybe Trump is trying to further Russian interests thinking what is good for goose is good for the gander. Time will tell. Robert Mueller knows all according to Cohen's Tweet. He has convictions which many of you commenting on are so right.

@Simon

He very well may not have a choice. But releasing notes is not an un-common thing in government. And honestly would the release of notes or his translator's notes or private notes be legal? They may be deemed classified. Could be a process to get them released.

I have always thought Trump is very unethical person. It is widely known he has stiffed many on the money with his land and development deals. And I am so tired of his blowharding. And the @DonaldTrump Twitter stuff. Man give me a break already.

Bring on the next election!

But for now my man Cruz seems allied with Trump like so many other in my party. And Mr. O’Rourke is getting all the spotlight right now.

If the sitting President is in cahoots with Vlad.

Then why the new rack of sanctions?

The idea that the president is in cahoots with the Russian president should be preposterous. Should be. But somehow it’s become within the realm of possibility. Step back and think about the situation not from the perspective of Trump himself, but a true Manchurian Candidate. Such a person could not come in and openly serve the Russian interests directly, they would be exposed very quickly. Rather the effective way to serve the bidding of Russia would be to give the appearance of business as usual, doing things you listed above, while taking actions to further other Russian interests, such as withdrawing from the world stage, and extracting themselves from things like the Paris accord.

I hope trump is just lacking the ability to realize that his actions looks suspicious, and that’s all it is. I fear trump may be serving Putin’s interests without even realizing it.

Can I get an honest non-biased opinion here?

Allot of back and forth in comments about Trump and Vlad in a bro-mance here.

If the sitting President is in cahoots with Vlad.

Then why the new rack of sanctions?

Possibly because he doesn't really have much of a choice? Also - if he's not in cahoots with Vlad, he should be totally okay with releasing details of the closed doors meetings he's had with him, e.g. interpreters' notes, but has apparently been unusually fixated with keeping it all secret.

Can I get an honest non-biased opinion here?

Allot of back and forth in comments about Trump and Vlad in a bro-mance here.

If the sitting President is in cahoots with Vlad.

Then why the new rack of sanctions?

Trump administration "is going to impose significant new sanctions in 2019 in response to Russian malign activities."

In April 2018. Congress gave the Trump administration the right to target foreign investment in new Russian energy export pipelines. Trumps asked Congress for this. Also, during this time, The U.S. Congress was weighing whether to propose broad new sanctions that would pressure Putin to cease any ongoing interference in U.S. elections. These proposed sanctions would target issues of new Russian sovereign debt -- a step the U.S. Treasury publicly opposed in February -- and prohibit transactions in all interests in property of major Russian banks, including Sberbank, VTB Bank, Gazprombank JSC, Promsvyazbank PJSC, Rosselkhozbank JSC and Vnesheconombank Trump supported all of this.

Russia is feeling it too.

The U.S. curtailed investment and Russian access to technology, hitting economic growth. Over the medium-term, western sanctions could cut the size of the economy by almost a 10th, according to the International Monetary Fund. While sliding oil prices also affected the currency in previous years, the ruble’s been the fifth worst global performer against the dollar so far in 2018, even as crude has recovered. The non-resident share in Russia’s domestic debt fell to 27.5 percent in July from 34.5 percent in March. There also is collateral damage, felt outside Russia.Even as U.S. President Donald Trump pursues his goal of better relations with Russia, his government continues to add sanctions targeting Russian government and businesses at Trumps behest. Now do we want to look at International sanctions on Russia from other countries Trump is supporting? Some say Trump and Vlad have a bromance going?

I would say Vlad must be very annoyed with Trump right now.

Trump has brought forth more sanctions on Russia than Obama ever did.

When Obama was notified that the Russians were interfearing in the election.

Here is what Obama did. President Obama ordered the expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats, closed two rural estates reportedly used by Russian spies, and slapped sanctions on two Russian intelligence organizations and other entities Thursday for their alleged role in what the White House says was a Kremlin-directed effort to interfere with the 2016 presidential race. These type of sanctions are called narrow sanctions.

I am not supporting Trump here. Nor trying to defend him either. I am no Trumpian. Those who read my comments know I like Cruz and love the Texas style politics. However, in Trump fashion he may have colluded with Russia and now is burning Vlad like he has so many small contactors he has done business with in the past. I think Trump is an arrogant and shrewd man. As well very uneducated. We can see it from his tweets.

Called Comey a sleaze on Twitter. I hate his tone and his language. The first lady better get him off the Twitter App.

The first lady has more class in her little finger than her husband anyways.

CrazyJoe - Let this sink in: The FBI had enough material to justify opening an investigation into whether the President of the United States was a Russian agent, working on behalf of Russia against American interests.

The President of the United States is a Russian asset.

OTOH according to the Times article - No evidence has publicly emerged that Trump was secretly in contact with or took direction from Russian officials, the Times said.

Probes don't always find something.

Repeatedly insisting that there must be evidence of your claims does not mean that there is any evidence of what you claim.

"Material" is hardly the same as evidence. Sometimes it's just something that makes investigators suspicious, and it's fair enough to dig a little deeper until the suspicion can either be confirmed or dismissed, isn't it? Anyway, Trump is definitely a Russian asset. He grovels in public to Putin and his just being in office due to an archaic technicality makes America look ridiculous in the eyes of the world. That can hardly be bad for the Russians.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

This is just an attempt to extend the "Russian Collusion" narrative because they know the Muller investigation doesn't lead to anything.

Obama promised the Russians some "flexibility after the election" but of course that's not "working with the Russians."

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

The Trumper mantra;

Flynn was meeting with Russians. Trumper: No big deal.... And then he lied about it. Trumper: So?

Manafort and Gates met with Russians. Trumper: That's nothing. And then they lied about it. Trumper: Hillary's e-mails...

Papadapolous met with Russians. Trumper: Small potatoes. And lied about it. Trumper: Everybody lies...

Manafort, Jared and Don Jr met with Russians (about campaign help). Trumper: Wasn't a crime. And they lied about it (adoptions). Trumper: MSM fake news.

Cohen was meeting with Russians. Trumper: Everybody does. And he lied about it. Trumper: The caravans are coming.

Manafort was exchanging campaign info (polling data so the Russian information campaign could target voters). Trumper: Don't care. And lied about it. Trumper: Build the Wall!

Looking forward to adding to this list as Mueller continues to drain the cesspool...

Orange man bad!

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Don’t like him, he has to go!

No... do something illegal, he has to go.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Then why is the liberal response to everything just screeching “mueller’s coming”?

Because Mueller is coming.

So now Mueller’s only purpose is is not to get Trump impeached?

Once again you've lost us with your 'logic'. You're going to have to spell that one out.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Mueller's purpose is to conduct an investigation, as laid out in the appointment letter that you either haven't read or are incapable of remembering.

If you were to read (and comprehend) that letter, it would be clearer to you that he's proceeded according to his brief.

trumpettes don’t comprehend any form of rational or even things remotely logical, they simply go with whichever direction the winds blows.

It is amazing how they quickly dismiss the most blatantly obvious wrongdoing as if it was just a minor misstep, but are so quick to demand others be locked up.

To call it a double standard would be an understatement.

I believe that we are at a point where to some followers, if trump were to even for a brief second gain an ounce of honesty and admit that he lied and betrayed his country ,some people would still make excuses for him and blame someone else.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

When is the FBI going to do something about The Accidental President? Can you imagine the madness if Obama would've been like him? Surely they'd have set him up to being taken out as retribution.TAP has brought the presidency into disrepute and is owned by foreign adversaries. That is a no-no.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

@blacklabel

Then why is the liberal response to everything just screeching “mueller’s coming”?

Some liberals.

But in the sense that Mueller hasn't finished what he's doing, that he intends to finish it, and that when he does, there is likely to be damaging information about Trump, probably extremely damaging, then yes, Mueller's coming.

So now Mueller’s only purpose is is not to get Trump impeached?

Mueller's purpose is to conduct an investigation, as laid out in the appointment letter that you either haven't read or are incapable of remembering.

If you were to read (and comprehend) that letter, it would be clearer to you that he's proceeded according to his brief.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

so the fact that he won the election, by the rules in place that determine who wins, means nothing to liberals? Don’t like him, he has to go!

Love the attacks, without evidence, that he is mentally ill and not suitable. Based on what?

Sensible people are mad that Trump is president at all. He was never remotely suitable for the job, he's bad at it, and he's mentally ill.

-10 ( +0 / -10 )

Then why is the liberal response to everything just screeching “mueller’s coming”? So now Mueller’s only purpose is is not to get Trump impeached?

Let me guess his job is to find the “truth”. But with the “truth” already having been predetermined by liberals that Trump colluded with Russia to win the election.

Mueller's job has never been to release juicy evidence that might take Trump down

-8 ( +0 / -8 )

@blacklabel

They were mad cause their boy Comey got fired and knew they were next. So they opened a ridiculous investigation that found nothing.

The article says that it was folded into the Mueller investigation. Completely different from saying they found nothing.

wont you be mad if Mueller shows evidence in June 2019 that he already had that could have gotten rid of Trump 2.5 years earlier?

Sensible people are mad that Trump is president at all. He was never remotely suitable for the job, he's bad at it, and he's mentally ill.

Mueller's job has never been to release juicy evidence that might take Trump down. He's a very competent investigator who knows from long experience how to conduct an investigation properly, and that's what he's done. Nothing that has emerged from the investigation so far has been to Trump's credit, but that's secondary to the fact that Mueller has proceeded appropriately and methodically, and he's not done yet.

This must be very unsettling to people who learn about the world through Twitter, and who can't tell the difference between a half-arsed job and a job well done.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

To be fair, this is slightly unsettling and unprecedented even if you oppose Trump. Which specific crimes was the FBI hoping to uncover, considering that being a 'national security threat' is not exactly illegal? If someone of Russian American heritage with even closer ties to Russia runs for president someday, will they be subjected to the same sort of investigation? What about a Chinese American or Arab American? Are those with close ties to Israel investigated in the same way? If not, why? It seems that a bit more transparency at the FBI is needed. The FBI should not be in the businesses of compiling a list of countries or nationalities that it believes are hostile to American interests. The civil service should not be engaging in a parallel foreign policy.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

As Obama put it nicely “Reagan would roll over in his grave”.

Someone said the same to Tucker and it was hilarious to watch his meltdown.

@burningbuh Let's hope that Mueller's paycheck and expense account have been cut off.

It's probably true most Russians working for the Internet Research Agency, GRU, and various oligarch’s private gangs paid to 'meddle' in US affairs feel the same way. It could be some of them live in the ‘west’ and are at risk of losing the good life they've been able to have while doing so.

And I think most Trump backers - including many of America's richest, its elite, the .01% who continue to get richer and more powerful because Trump and the GOP reduced their taxes, cut back environmental, worker and consumer protection measures - want Mueller out of the way. Same with ultranationalist, anti-democracy organizations like the NRA, KKK and others that have expanded under Trump.

Manafort was sending campaign information to the Russians. Trump said he fired Comey because of the investigation. Trump's team lied about contacts with Russia.

Should we ignore this?

The word news starts with “new”. Nothing new about this just a distraction from the losing issue of the wall.

Ok, so who exactly has decided that the public should be distracted, by presenting this news? And since they were acting nefariously, who should have decided that this news should be suppressed, so as to not distract from the wall?

Can you please try to be clear about these issues? I want to be angry with you at the people who have done these things, but you haven't told us who they are. Nor what the rules are.

wont you be mad if Mueller shows evidence in June 2019 that he already had that could have gotten rid of Trump 2.5 years earlier?

No, because I'm not a moron who decides how the world should have worked, without knowing how the world actually works. I'm not a binary mindset, I can see how there are nuances to issues. I'm not a reductionist thinker, who comes up with statements about how everything is so easy, or someone is so evil or blah, blah blah.

No, I won't be mad, because investigations take years. And if they rush investigations, people walk without punishment. This is due process, this is how mature democracies work. Sure it sucks to wait, especially when it's becoming very clear that Trump is just the White House's Cosby, but the wait during a proper investigation is a necessity to ensuring both that the guilty are punished, and equally importantly, that the innocent are not.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Those surrounding him have either plead guilty to committing felonies, or been found guilty in jury trials of committing felonies, but still he insists there is no evidence? He may be a royal putz, but he is a putz with hutzpah.

Wait for the end of a never ending investigation? Ok sure, cause Trump still President every day we wait. Why you still trying to impeach him when you can just meet him in the election next year? Cause you know you will be losing again?

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

As for the political aspects, it is probably more like the enemy (Russia) of my enemy (Hillary) is my friend.

I'm guessing that Trump never put anything in writing nor signed anything, just like Hillary telling her people to forward classified emails to her.

But his closest people were all connected to Russia in some way, the facts show that. Ivanka's line got into China pretty easily. Hummmm.

Trump owes Deutsche Bank $480M. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/trump-still-owes-lenders-including-deutsche-bank-as-much-as-480-million-2018-05-16

Is Trump Toronto Tower financing is tied to Russia? https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-toronto-tower-financing-linked-to-russia-2018-7

The FBI needs to investigate and share the results, good or bad. With questions this serious, the world needs to know.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

How dare the FBI investigate the possibility of trump and company colluding with a foreign government!!!

If trump said there’s no collusion then there’s no collusion, he would never lie!!!!

:-/

8 ( +9 / -1 )

this popped up again to distract from the losing on the wall issue.

So do you feel this news should have been stifled until the wall issue is resolved? Is there a list of official rules as to determining which news is to be suppressed during the government shutdown due to the wall? If there isn't an official list, by what means should this story have been determined to be one which should be hidden from the people?

Also, I'm confused about one point. Can you please tell me, if this news is hidden from the people, does it receive an exemption from the 'fake news' label? Is there an official list of 'fake news' exemptions?

8 ( +9 / -1 )

If Mueller has such evidence, he is incompetent because he let Trump stay president for 2 whole years more.

Someone doens't mind looking stupid for not knowing how investigations work.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

this popped up again to distract from the losing on the wall issue. I predicted days ago we would be seeing “but Russia!” and even Stormy Daniels and creepy guy pushed back to the forefront and they all have been.

The whole idea is that the unelected FBI should have never done this to begin with its treasonous and the beginning of a coup.

-11 ( +1 / -12 )

But liberals will focus on the word “public” and try to claim it’s still private. If Mueller has such evidence, he is incompetent because he let Trump stay president for 2 whole years more.

@Burning Bush

The FBI should be non-partisan.

Siding with the Democrats and using their authority for political purposes has tainted the FBI for generations.

What was the FBI suppose to do? You have a presidential candidate that despite obvious abuses by the Russian government never criticized Russia once. As President, was warned by the prior administration that a certain person on his team was possibly compromised by the Russians. He has tried to drop sanctions against Russia. He has dismissed his own intelligence agencies warnings of Russia's activities. His kids were meeting with members of the Russian government. He has invited Members of the Russian government to the oval office. Many of the people in his administration who he picked in key positions had either some ties to Russia or had been in contact with Russian agents. Its been disclosed that the Trump organization was trying to build a apartment complex or hotel in Russia offering Putin a $50million dollar room. The last meeting he had with Putin the world witnessed his demeanor had completely changed. It was so obvious that something had occurred which really shook him. Even people from the republican side thought he was a disgrace after that meeting. After all of that you still don't see a problem? Not even a hint of suspicion that he maybe compromised? Either you don't care or you just don't want to believe the person you voted for could be a Manchurian Candidate. Just sayin.

12 ( +13 / -1 )

The President should be non-partisan. He should not put Russia’s interests above that of US.

investigation to determine whether Trump posed a national security threat,

If the nation referred to in the above quote is the US, then of course he is a security threat.

Trump ran on a platform based on tearing down US institutions. Throughout his time in office he's consistently attacked and undermined basic elements of US democracy (e.g. a free, for-profit press, balance and separation of powers, intelligence agencies, etc.).

Trump's been supported by Russia's GRU and Internet Research Agency, plus US based anti-democracy organizations like the NRA, KKK and others.

Trump is the greatest security threat the US has seen - maybe ever.

And his supporters, though a minority of American citizens, cheer him on.

A tyranny of the minority is tearing the US down.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

As a child I had a great book called "The Worst Person in the World" - actually it was wrong - Trump is the worst person and possibly a Russian asset to boot.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Mueller, meanwhile, has issued dozens of indictments and steadily chalked up convictions of some of the president's close associates -- including his former national security advisor, his former personal lawyer, and his ex-campaign chief.

Winning.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

The FBI should be non-partisan.

It is.

Siding with the Democrats and using their authority for political purposes has tainted the FBI for generations.

This is only correct in the alternate reality Trump supporters occupy.

Of course Trump blasts the FBI for trying to keep the US safe; he doesn't care about the safety of the US. Further evidence that he doesn't care about the safety of the US can be found in the fact that his government shutdown is causing TSA agents to have to find other jobs and that border crossings from south to north have increased under his watch.

14 ( +17 / -3 )

The "Murmansk Candidate" - we really knew it all along - multiple campaign staff and family members meeting with Russians, his Campaign Chairman in hock to Russian oligarchs and sharing campaign info with them, his groveling every time he meets Putin...

The phrase used by his own senior staff suddenly has a much more serious and ominous meaning - he is a danger to the republic...

10 ( +11 / -1 )

The FBI should be non-partisan.

Siding with the Democrats and using their authority for political purposes has tainted the FBI for generations.
